Chapter V

Cindy awoke in a strange medical facility and looked over to see a sleeping Jango beside her bed. A medical droid, noticing she was now awake, came over to see to her. “How do you feel?”

Shaking her head, Cindy replied, “I…I’m not sure.”

Jango heard her voice and looked up at her. “Glad to see you’ve come around.”

A tentative smile curled her lips as she looked at him. “And I guess I’ve got you to thank fer this.” Grabbing her hand, he looked down at it as if he was studying each line and hair.

“Yes my lady. Once they check you out, I will take you back to Lord Vader’s castle.” He said as he traced patterns on her hand.

“Ah. So Vader called you to fetch me.” Cindy snickered.

“I guess you could say that. But for now, let the droid make sure you are ok and then we will contact Vader and let him know you are free.”

Cindy nodded and reluctantly let go of his hand.

Martha awoke to Renee jumping on her bed. She groaned and rolled over, pulling up the covers over her head. “Get yer ass up woman!” Renee hollered.

“Fuck you. Leave me alone,” Martha grumbled.

“Come on babe. I’ve got a spread laid out fer ya downstairs and we need to get yer shit packed up.” Renee peeled the covers back slowly.

Martha opened up one eye and snorted at her. “Why the fuck are you in such a good mood?” She slid out of the covers and sat up.

Smiling widely, Renee rolled her eyes. “Oh I don’t know. Maybe it’s cuz a certain Sith Lord is coming home today. Or maybe it’s cuz I just wanted to torture you one more time before ya left.”

“Oh shit. I forgot about that. Alight, bitch, I’m up…I’m up.”

“I’ll sees ya downstairs.” Renee bounded out of the room and down the stairs.

Martha groaned and rubbed her eyes, muttering under her breath as she stood up and stretched. “She ain’t never been that fuckin sunshiny in the mornin’ before. That boy’s ruint her.”

Rolling over in her small bed, Bonnie sighed contently when her arms fell around the warm body of Obi-wan. Snuggling against his chest, she placed small kisses on him as she wrapped her legs around his. He stirred slightly and pulled her on top of him, running his hands up her body until they wound in her hair. Leaning over, Bonnie pressed her lips to his and wiggled her hips, realizing that the morning would be quite fun indeed.

Obi-wan’s eyes flew open and he sat up, almost knocking Bonnie to the floor. “What’s wrong baby?” she asked.

Setting his feet on the floor, Obi-wan ran a hand through his hair and looked around for his clothes. “Sith! It’s morning already. Sith, I am late.”

He scrambled around the small room, gathering up his clothes and pulling on his boots. Bonnie lay on her side and watched him, snickering at his efforts. “Ya don’t have to run off. I wasn’t gonna hurt ya.”

“I have a meeting first thing this morning, my love.” He huffed as he grabbed his robe and paused in the center to the room. Turning around, he walked over to the bed and bent down, kissing Bonnie hard and fast. “I will see you later.” With that, he was gone in a blur of brown.

Bonnie sighed and flopped onto her back. “I’ve gotta get him away from this place.” She got out of bed and crossed the room to retrieve her uniform from the chair she’d used as a clothes rack. Pulling the camouflaged uniform on, Bonnie smirked. She was quite proud of herself for the dye job she did. She definitely stood out in a crowd.

Going through the corridors of the base, she made her way to the mess hall and sat down beside Sergeant Shaw. “Mornin’ Darlin’,” Bonnie purred as she sipped on what she thought was coffee.

Terry cocked his head and scooted closer to her. “Did you have fun last night?”

Bonnie snickered. “Yeah. What the hell was in that shit I was drinkin’?”

“That’s not what I was talking about. Did you get a hold of the General?”

A puzzled look came over Bonnie’s face. “The who?”

“General Kenobi. I saw you together in the hallway and was just curious.”

“Aahh. Well naw, not that it’s any of your fuckin’ business.” Bonnie snorted and went back to her drink.

Terry laughed. “I figured you didn’t know about him. Jedis take a vow of celibacy when they join the order.” Leaning in close to her, he whispered, “Plus I heard that he really doesn’t like members of the opposite sex.”

Bonnie damn near spewed her drink at that comment. This cocky little sergeant had no idea about Obi-wan. Looking over at Terry, she tried to sound convincing. “Really? So he bats fer the other team eh?”

Shrugging his shoulders, Terry replied, “If I understand that phrase right, then yep - that’s what I’ve heard.”

“Damn shame if ya ask me.” Bonnie smirked as she downed her drink.

Standing up, Terry looked down at her. “So have you ever been on a speeder bike?”

Renee could hardly contain her excitement as she shoveled down her breakfast and gave Martha big grins. Shaking her head, Martha finally pushed her empty plate from in front of her and sat back in her chair. “So when did you change into a blithering idiot?”

Renee furrowed her brow as she replied, “What do ya mean?”

“I ain’t never seen you this fuckin’ giddy over a man, ever. Ya ain’t fallin’ fer him are ya?” Martha smirked as she lit up a smoke.

“Fallin’. Hmm. Well that all depends on your point of view,” Renee said as she grabbed Martha’s smokes and lit one up herself.

“Don’t give me that shit. You ain’t never comin’ home are ya?”

Looking down, Renee came to the realization that she never wanted to leave Vader. She didn’t think she could bear to be without him in her life. In a soft voice, she replied, “I guess not.”

“Uh hah. You have fallin’ fer him. There ain’t bells in the future are there?” Martha chided.

“Well naw. You know I got issues with that shit.”

“Even if it’s him?” Martha asked, blowing a large plume of smoke as she sat up in her chair.

“Look, I’m enjoying what we have right now. I don’t wanna fuck it up. I’d rather live in sin with him fer the rest of my life then get hitched,” Renee replied, giving Martha a serious look.

“Ok, ok. I was just askin’. Although the title Lady Vader sounds damned good.” Martha grinned widely.

Rolling her eyes, Renee sighed. “Yeah it does.”

Bonnie squinted as she adjusted to the sunlight. Dantoonie looked a lot like Kansas to her, with broad fields extending as far as the eye can see, but this place had hills. Terry led her over to the garage and, with a flourish of his hands, showed her the bikes. Bonnie licked her lips as she walked inside and ran her hands over them.

“Do I get to pick one?” Her eyes gleamed with delight.

“Yes ma’am. But you need a bit of training before I can allow you to go out on your own,” Terry replied.

Bonnie shot him a nasty look and went back to wandering through the bikes. “How fast do they go?”

Terry snickered when he saw the glazed looked in her eyes. “Around 500 kph.”

The mental calculator started whirring in her mind. ‘Damn, that’s about 800 mph.’ A wide grin crept across her face as she thought of herself hauling ass all over this place at high speed.

Walking over to a bike that was painted something close to primer grey, Bonnie lifted her leg and straddled it, grabbing the handlebars. “I like this un.” She traced the curves of the bike as Terry came over to stand beside her. Looking up at Terry, she flashed him her best smile and asked, “Ya got any paint?”

Standing on the landing pad, Martha watched as the troopers loaded her bags into the shuttle. She reached out and gave Renee a crushing hug. “Thanks babe. I had a blast.”

Renee looked at her with tears in her eyes. “I’m so glad you got to come. Ya need to come visit more often.”

“Ya know, these things,” Martha pointed to the shuttle, “can bring folks both ways.”

“I will keep that in mind.” Renee looked around and Martha stepped back from her.

“He’ll be here. Maybe he just got delayed. Give him a big ‘ol hug and kiss fer me when ya see him.” Martha smiled, trying to get her friend to lighten up a bit.

“I’ll do it. Holler at me sometime wench.” Renee grinned and hugged her one more time.

“Yeah buddy. Ya take care and let me know if anything exciting happens.” Martha walked up the landing plank and turned to wave to Renee.

As the hatch closed, Renee watched the shuttle until it was a twinkling little spot in the sky. Sighing heavily, she walked slowly back into the castle. *Where are you?* she sent. There was no reply. Strolling into the dining room, she picked over the fruits and pastries, not really hungry, just in need of something to keep her mind off him.

Placing her hands on the table, she closed her eyes and thought of Vader. Her thoughts wandered and she tried to focus like he had taught her, but she could neither see him nor feel him. Hanging her head, she reached out, grabbed a piece of fruit and crunched down on it as a pair of hands clasped over her eyes.

*Guess who.*
