Not Knowing No

Mia knew that one day soon Dom would ask her about her helping Serenity to get away from him. But it never came up. All he did was watch Serenity stare out the window and work. She couldn’t understand it but she knew that what ever this girl did to him he wasn’t trying to get over it. It was like he welcomed it. Serenity was having normal moments now. But just as they cam they were gone. She was back in her mind and she was lost to them again. Jesse had become very protective of the girl and she saw that she was growing up. He researched how he could help her out of this and finally found something that was helpful. They were to hypnotize her and take her step by step into her past and help her see that there was no harm in the future for her. That she was save with them. But the first time that he did it she just screamed liked someone was beating her. Mia couldn’t get the picture out of her mind for months. But the second and third time helped a lot. Jesse had actually gotten her free from her mind for two days. The second time. The third time he got here out for a week. Then she was right back there. Tonight they were going to try again. This time they were going after the big bad Skyler. She had to face him in her mind and then she would be able to face him in real life. But it broke Mia’s heart every time she saw her lifeless eyes staring out the window.

“Dom I want to talk to you.” Mia said when he walked in the back door.

“Not now Mia. I need to see Serenity.” He said as he passed her.

“She is staring out the window and she isn’t going anywhere. I need tot talk to you.” She said again.

“What do you want Mia?” Dom said as he sat down at the kitchen table.

“Fuck it you can just fucking read it.” Mia said as she threw the folder she placed the pages that she wrote at him.

Mia stormed out of the house and Dom heard her car start and pull off. He looked down at the folder and sighed. Then he opened it and took out the papers. He could tell that Mia wrote them and he knew that by doing so she did the one thing she had never done before. She betrayed a friend. “Dom I hope you know what I am giving up doing this. I love Serenity and I know that when she finally snaps out of this she will hate me for it. But I feel like you have a right to know what it is that you are getting into with this girl. Serenity was hated by her father. She was born a female and that was all that it took. He hated her from the start. Never gave her a chance to make him proud of her. When her brother was born he completely ignored her. He didn’t care if she lived or died. He took every chance he could to tell her that. But then one night when she was 14 he did something that you would kill any man for. He raped her. Her mother didn’t believe it and she called her a liar. She said that she just wanted him out of her life.

So when she turned 15 she was asked by her grandmother to come and live with her. So she left. She left and didn’t wait until she was out of the drive before she gave her father the bird. Of course he didn’t see it because he was in the house but she did it anyways. Her grandmother loved her dearly. She made sure that she thought herself to be priceless. But when she was killed in a car crash Serenity drew away from the world just like she did now. The courts aloud her to live on her own as long as she was able to work and go to school. She did and worked hard at it. Then she went to business school. Finished it and opened her garage. Her love was cars and I have a feeling it will always be. She was 19 when she met Skyler. She went back to school for a degree in Nursing. She knew that it was a long shot but she did it anyways. Skyler helped draw her out of herself at first and then when he had her where he wanted her he beat her allowed his friends to rape her. She was his whore and he knew it. I will not go into detail because she never did. But I knew that what ever he did to her finally pushed her to run. For three years she was his slave. She would do anything and everything that he told her to do. He didn’t work. He went out and fucked around on her and hung out with the guys. She went to school, worked at the garage, gave him all the money she made, cooked and cleaned house.

He almost killed her three times that she can remember and I know there had to be more times……”

Dom put the papers down and put his head in his hands. “What the fuck am I getting into?”

“You know I asked myself the same question many times. But brother it’s too late you are already in it.” Vince said from the doorway.

“I thought I could help her. I thought she needed us to her help her. I should have kept away from her. I shouldn’t have stepped in that night at the club.” Dom said as he shook his head.
Vince tapped him on his shoulder and when he looked up he was met with a fist to his jaw. “Fuck what about you. What about her? You think she ever asked for any of this? She didn’t and you were the one that asked for this. So stop your fucking whining and go up and help Jesse talk her through this.”

Dom rubbed his jaw and looked at his life long friend. “she rubbed off on you didn’t she?”

“No brother she had me from the first time she kicked you in your head.” Vince said and then turned around and walked out of the room.

Dom shook his head and stood up. He knew that she needed him but he was lost in this and didn’t know what to do. Good thing Jesse liked her because he was the one behind all this. Dom walked to the stairs and looked up them. Vince was standing in the doorway looking into the bedroom. He climbed the stairs and pushed past Vince into the bedroom. Serenity sat there looking right at him. The look in her eyes was what stopped him. She had that fire in her eyes again and it burnt strong. It was real strong. “Well, it looks like my other hero has come to say hi.”

“Serenity!” Dom smiled and wrapped his arms around her.

“Hey personal space. Let me go Dom.” She said and then shook her head.

“I am sorry for all the trouble that I have caused you and your family. I really am but I am going to do something that I should have done in the first place. “Dominic will you help me?” Serenity asked as she pulled away from him.

“I would love to.” Dom said as he smiled down at her.

“Good because I can’t live like this anymore. I almost killed myself because of that bastard. He will go down and I know just how to do it.” She said with a huge smile on her face.

“But how did you wake up?” He asked her.

“Jesse helped me. He had me face Skyler in my mind. He showed me how weak he really was. What real man would have done what he and my father did to me? Jesse was my light in the darkness. You all were.” She said as she turned to look at the young boy.

“Where is Mia?” Serenity asked them.

“She went for a drive.” Dom said as he remembered the words that she had written.

“Did she tell you what I told her?” Serenity asked looking over to him.

“Yes she did.” Dom said to her.

“Good she remembered.’ Serenity said as she walked toward Vince.

“Well Animal it looks like you and me are going to be at it again.” She said before she hugged him.

“You still can’t beat me I don’t care how much you brag.” Vince said as he wrapped his arms around her and hugged her tightly to him.

“HEY!!” Leon yelled from the stairs.

“What?” Vince asked as he let her go.

“Where the hell is my hug?” Leon asked with a huge smile on his face.

“If it was up your ass you would know it. Come here boy.” Serenity said with a mile. She couldn’t believe how great it felt to be welcomed into other’s life. Hell 6 other’s lives. All she knew was this was the first time since her grandmother died that she was really happy. Leon wrapped his arms around her waist and lifted her up as she wrapped her arms around his neck.

“It is good to see that smile on those lips of yours.” Leon said and then kissed her forehead.

“SERENITY!!!” Mia yelled as she walked into the house.

“MY SISTER!” Serenity said s she jumped out of Leon’s arms and flew down the stairs.

The four guys watched as the two girls hugged each other tightly and cried, laughed and giggled. She was back and this time she was staying. When they let go Serenity looked at Mia and said. “Thank you for telling them what I told you. They did have a right to know.”

“I thought that you would hate me forever for doing it.” Mia said as another tear slid down her cheek.

“I could never hate you Mia. You are my friend and sister.” She said as she wiped the tear away.

“Hey what is all the yelling about?” Brian asked as he walked from the kitchen.

Serenity turned and looked at him. Well if it isn’t Boy wonder himself. Thought you were rid of me that easy?”

“Serenity oh god it’s you. I am so glad to see your fire back in your eyes.” Brain said as he threw his arms around her shoulders and pulled her in for a bear hug.

“It’s tonight Friday night?” Leon asked them.

“It sure is.” Dom said with a slow smile.

“I want to race. But my gas tank shit!” Serenity said as she shook her head.

“Do not worry that pretty little head off. It has been done for you.” Mia said with a laugh.

“Who did it?” She asked.

“I did,” Vince said with a smile.

“Then it should be safe.” She said with a laugh.

“Well if we want to do this then we need to get ready. Mia you know what to do.” Dom said with a smile.

Mia nodded and pulled Serenity upstairs. Dom and the guys laughed at the look on his face and then went too get ready themselves. It had been 6 months since they have been to the races. But they knew that no matter who was holding the title that it would be back in the family soon. Mia dressed Serenity up in some really sexy clothes and smiled. “You are going to be the spot light tonight my dear.”

“You beat me by a mile Mia.” Serenity said with a smile.

“God look at my hair I should dye it.” Serenity said as she looked at the black in her hair.

“No don’t it will grow out like it already is.” Mia said as she handed her a pair of thigh high boots.

“I don’t think so.” Serenity said as she saw the heel.

“It isn’t really big once you get them on. Come on you got to look hot so you will stand out.” Mia said as Serenity sat beside her.

“I need to start running again. It feels like years since the last time I ran.” Serenity said as she slipped the boots on.

“You shouldn’t start again right away. Allow your body to get use to not laying around all the time first.” Mia said as they stood up and looked at each other in the mirror.

“You are hot!” They both said laughing.

They walked out of Mia’s room that she was sharing with Brian and they walked down the stairs. Mia went first and Serenity waited until she had the guys’ attention. “I would like to present the new look of Serenity Black!” Serenity put a smile on and slowly descended the stairs one at the time. When he boots appeared she stopped for a moment and looked down at the tank top that barely covered her scars and the really short skirt that she was afraid to bend over in and smiled. Yeah she liked it. She walked down the stairs and turned to look at the guys.

“Holy shit!” Leon said as Dom whistled and Vince’s jaw dropped.

“You hate it don’t you?” She asked them.

“No you look amazing.” Dom said and the other guys agreed.

“Good then I need to go shopping.” She said with a wink to Mia.

“Let’s load up.” Dom said and they all headed to their cars. Mai rode with Serenity and Brain had to smile as he saw them laughing as they pulled away.

Serenity parked her car and got out. Dom parked beside her and got out. The crowd gasped and then cheered. Hector and Edwin walked over and shook Dom’s hand. “Couldn’t beat her so you had her join the team?”

“that’s right Hector he finally talked me into his team.” She said with a laugh as she slid into Dom’s arms.

“You better get your arms off my fucking man.” A cold voice said from behind the two guys.

“I’m not your man anymore, Letty you saw to that.” Dom growled at her.

Hector I’m not racing tonight but my girl is. How much is the race buy in?” Dom asked him.

“With that car and the title holder in the same race I say about 10 grand.” Hector said as he looked at Letty.

She handed him the money and Serenity handed him the money she had under the seat of her car. The other drivers handed their money to him and he put it in his pockets. “The strip!”

Everyone got in their cars and headed to the strip. Leon didn’t watch for cops. He wanted to see how well serenity did against Letty. She may have beat Dom but Letty is a hand full. The cars pulled up to the starting line and after the looks out said it was all clear Hector dropped his arms and the cars took off. Serenity started in the lead. Dom watched as Letty tried to catch her but he knew that she pressed her NOS too soon. Serenity laughed to herself and pressed her NOS and sailed over the finish line leaving them all in the dust. “I can’t believe she beat Letty!”

“You know what that means don’t you?” Hector asked them.
“No what?” Dom asked him.

“She is the Queen of the streets.” Hector said as Serenity pulled to a stop right in front of them.

“How did I do baby?” Serenity asked as she got out of her car.

“Baby you are the fucking Queen of the streets. You fucking won my title. You were amazing.” Dom said before he kissed her lips.

“You fucking whore!” Letty yelled and grabbed Serenity by the hair.

Serenity spun around and ripped her hair out of her hand. Then she pulled back with her left and right and nailed her in the jaw and then under the chin. “I am not a fucking whore. You ever call me a whore again I will fucking kill you. Do you understand that?”

Letty looked up at her from the ground and nodded slowly. The crowd gasped as they realized that Letty was beat not once but twice out of her title. Serenity smiled turned and looked at Dom. Hector handed her the money and smiled. “Damn girl you are dangerous.”

“Not unless I am mad.” She said as Dom nodded at her.
