I do not own Legend, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
The Memories
Authors note. Ok so I got one review, and they seemed so determined that I continue the story I just felt that I should at least give you all one more chapter. Anyway enjoy!
Chapter Five.
The Memories.
Before Jack could dodge the blow the stallion had charged with unnatural speed and agility, plunging its alicorn straight into Jack’s heart.
The pain was unbearable and he could see his own blood seeping down and discolouring the stallion’s head to a deep crimson.
Somewhere in the distance he could hear a cry, it sounded like Gump but everything seemed further away now.
Gump screamed, and it echoed through the clearing like a thunderbolt. What was happening? How could a unicorn kill another being, let alone a green man, a protector of nature itself!
He was frozen to the spot as he watched Jack begin to slump upon the alicorn and the stallion hold his weight easily.
Then something Gump had not expected began to happen.
The blood began to seep back into Jack’s body the hair on the stallion’s head began to return to it’s brilliant white from before, and a brilliant white light began to emanate from the unicorns alicorn, spreading into Jack’s body slowly moving to cover his whole body. The mare moved to place her head onto the stallion’s back also becoming enveloped by the pure light.
The clearing was so brightly lit by the light that it was as though it was the middle of day, so much so that Gump had to cover his eyes.
Jack felt strangely warm, if this was dying it really wasn’t that bad.
He opened his eyes to see what was happening and was nearly blinded by the light surrounding him. He quickly closed his eyes again and his mind was immediately accosted by a series of images.
Lili.
The memories flooded his mind…
Her running into the forest crying, he remembered her father hadn’t bought her a new dress so she was running away
“How could he! I am a Princess!”
Her shock at seeing him, but she didn’t run away. Instead she held her head up high and demanded to know who he was and why he was there,
He had fallen in love with her instantly.
Her coming to the forest almost every day to see him after that, and always being so playful, wanting to learn everything about the forest and its creatures.
But then a newer, more recent memory filled his head.
He felt like he was in the forest, it was already becoming dark and cold.
Lili was kneeling in front of him trying to kiss him, but he was not moving to kiss her back.
“Are you afraid to kiss me Jack?”
“I’m afraid you’ll break my heart.”
“And steal your heart…Your dear to me as life itself!”
Lili looked down to her hand on which was the ring her father had given her as a child, it was to let everyone know she was a Princess. She began taking it off her finger.
“Don’t you wish this as our wedding ring?” She looked playfully up at him.
“If I say yes will my wish come true?”
She made a look of mock seriousness.
“Its my right to set a challenge for my suitors” She laughed playfully and held the ring up in front of her face, “I will marry who ever finds this ring!”
She threw it behind her, and it began to fall into the small pool at the bottom of the cliff they were sitting on.
Jack immediately stood up and ran towards the edge of the cliff, behind him he could hear Lili screaming his name.
That was the last time he had seen Lili.
Wait no, it wasn’t… the woman he had shot before the battle with Darkness.
That was Lili.
He had killed Lili, and all because of Oona. She must have known what she was doing; she had bewitched him and forced him to forget that Lili had ever existed.
And so he had killed her.
It all made sense now why she had released the unicorn and that look that she had given him when he had shot her.
That look of complete shock, he understood now that it wasn’t shock that she had been shot, just that he had been the one who had shot her.
He felt a tugging at his heart and could feel the stallion pulling the alicorn out from his body.
He fell to the ground on his knees, and looked up at the unicorns. He understood now why they had been feeling such pity towards him, and such anger towards Oona.
Authors note. So he remembers Lili. All of you that thought Lili was out of the story were very very wrong. Lol. She will be coming back into the story next chapter and I think you will all like the way it’s going to happen, but you will have to review and see.
Please review.
