Coming of the Gods

Tanun had always been a little shy arround women. His friends would try to give him advice on the matter but it never really seemed to help.

"Shyann is so beautifull..." Tanun sighed as he and his brother Odan made their way through the jungle to get to the beach.

"That she is, but if you wish to see more than just her beauty, you will have to tell her how you feel one of these days". Odan smiled.

"Are you crazy! Me, a simple fisherman, court one of the great Henday's daughters! Never, I'm not worthy. Surely she will choose to be wed to one of our proud worriors.I'm sure Doatu is already preparing for the occasion as we speak."

"Oh Tanun, you may not be a worrior, but your heart is true and you are braver than most. I believe that if she truly knew you, Shyann would take you for husband in a heart beat!" Odan declared as he gave Tanun a strong pat on the back.

"Well, I doubt that will ever be. Maybe I should pray to the Gods to bring one back for me when they return in three sunsets!"

Odan laughed at his brother's words but quickly stopped when his attention was caught by what seemed to be lightning in the sky just ahead.Both men came to a halt when another blinding flash of light errupted just where the first one had appeared.

"Storm?" Tanun instinctively questionned, half talking to himself.

"The sky is blue...There can be no storm without clouds..." whispered Odan, his eyes still glued to the portion of the sky that had contained the strange erruption of lightning.

Before either one of them had the chance to speak again, a strange distortion appeared just a dozen feet above them.It looked as though a small portion of sky had turned into water. In the few moments fallowing, the water like distortion became flushed with small strands of lightning.
Both brothers stood in aw as the blinding ball of water danced above the sand. Then, something even more unusual happened; out of this strange dancing water came what seemed like a young woman!

Tanun and Odan immidiately ran over to the young woman after she fell unto the sand rather harshly. Her body was curled into a foetal position and she was shaking violently, eyes shut in an expression of pain.

"No doubt your prayer has been answered my brother!" Said Odan in astonishment.

"I've not yet even prayed Odan, I truly doubt she is here for me...I wonder who she is..."

"Or why the Gods would send her to us...Why did they not come with her?"

"A messager maybe, to announce their arrival..."

Toshia tryed to catch her breath as the intense pain throughout her body finally started to fade away.She had not even been aware of her crash landing onto the sand.All she knew, was that the horrible pain was going at last and she was more than greatfull for this. Her attention was slowly drawn to voices that seemed close yet far away all at once.

As she started to open her eyes, she distinguished two blured figures moving infront of her.The light surrounding these figures was so blinding, she had to keep her eyes practicly shut to endure the intensity of it.When she started to move her body in an effort to turn arround, she felt hands on her(belonging to the figures she assumed), that were undoubtedly trying to help her rise.

While dazed and confused, Toshia managed to position herself onto her hands and knees. After staying there for a minute or so, she rose to her feet,needing without a doubt the support of her knew found friends to stay up.She was then guided towards an unknown destination, but did not resist, well aware she was in no condition to protest in this helpless state.Although this is a mystery to us all,Toshia was sure that what she had just experienced must have felt exactly like being born....

They walked for what seemed like forever before Toshia finally distinguished through heavily lided eyes, what seemed like small houses, most likely made of stone or dried earth with bamboo and large leaves. Her escorts had tried to comunicate with her at many occasions but it was all she could do to just lift up her head to look up squinting before she would try to speak without success. Her mouth felt as though she had not had a drink for days and her mind still had much trouble focusing.

Hell this time travel turned out to be quite the bitch she thought , desperatly trying to remember why she had done it in the first place.

"By the Gods! What happened!" Yelled their mother , running up to meet them before gently cuping Toshia's face with her hands.

"She fell from the sky mother!" Said Odan, causing his mother to stare back at him with shock and disbelief.

"It is true." Confirmed Tanun.

Without further question, their mother motioned them to quickly enter the house and covered a large chair with a soft wool spread.Her sons understood to sit their guest in it, after witch she took a croutching positon in front of her.

"What is your name my child,where do you come from?" The middle aged woman questionned.

Toshia had regained most of her eye sight by now, but she desperately needed to have a drink. When the woman croutched in front of her spoke, she was able to make out two key words: "name" and "where". Now if she could only remember the word for "water" she thought, before making a "glass holding" gesture with her shaking hand which she then brought up to her mouth. The woman looked at her with confusion before saying another something she could not make out.Toshia then tried again, this time, taping herself lightly on the chest after making her gesture.

This second attempt aparently worked as it caused the woman before her to say "bring" amongst other things before one of the young men brought her a wooden recipient full of what seemed to be fruit juice. After downing the glass of sweet liquid barely without taking a breath, Toshia looked at the woman in front of her.

"Name...TOSHIA" She spoke, putting an emphasis on each syllable to be well understood.Instinctively, the woman and both the young men repeated her name, as if to make sure they had the right pronounciation.

"Where.....from" Toshia understood the woman say, her mind still a little too clouded to grasp the words in between.

"Not know" Was the only thing Toshia could think to reply at that moment, thinking that the theory of time travel might be just a tad bit hard to explain or to believe for that matter.Faking amniesia was definitely the best way to go for now she thought.

For the longest time, Tanun ,Odan and their mother all just sat there, quietly observing Toshia with tons of questions no doubt filling their minds...Finally,sensing that Toshia was becoming a little occward from all the silent observation, Odan looked over at Tanun and said: "Well brother, this is without a doubt the strangest catch we have ever had!"

Toshia made out "strange catch" and apon seing the others burst in laughter, she couldn't help but do the same.

"What now?" She thought to herself, wondering where to start this little study experiment...


Later that evening, Toshia was well enough to share a meal with her new found friends. She made a point to observe and remember as much information as she possibly could. Her comprehension of the Myan language was a bit better with improving physical condition, and although she still had much to learn, she could understand much more of what they were talking about...

From what she was able to tell, they thought she had something to do with God, an idea, she quickly tryed to convince them, that was unlikely.

"Came from sky!" She heard Odan exclame as he pointed at her. "Gods...coming....2 suns left" Was all she could make out after that.

Toshia played her amnesia card more than once, trying to avoid creating anymore confusion than there already was about her presence amongst them.When it was finally time for sleep, Odan and Tanun's mother (named Taloola she had found out) explained to her that she would be brought to meet their leader in the morning. She bid Toshia good night with small bow after pointing out another fur on the floor, layed apon a mat of bambo sticks woven together.

As Toshia settled on to her primitive bed, she sighed deeply, feeling both amazed and terrified at her predicament. She was living something absolutely mind blowing, something no other human being had experienced before.She was THERE, 13 000 years before her time!

Knowing all to well she desperately needed to recuperate, she pushed her astonishment away and pressed in the stone on her bronze comunicator bracelet.

"This is Nitro, I've touched down, awaiting response, over and out." Was all she voiced into the device before cutting off comunication. She then rolled on to her side and as soon as she had closed her eyes, sleep had already taken her away.

In the next room looking in, Tanun had been spying on their strange guest..."What is this language she speaks?" He whispered to himself...

I know it's been long...Lets try to bring it all together now shall we?
