Panic! - Clark -

Panic! - Clark

Heart Attack. Panic. Oh My God.

Clark spends several minutes calming down until he notices that he is still pressed up against his desk. 'UHG! How long have I been acting the part of the deer now? Hope no one else has noticed' Clark clears his throat, adjusts his glasses and sits down in his chair in attempt to regain some minuscule facade of dignity(Failing utterly of course). Staring blankly without blinking at his monitor for five minutes straight lowers the def con level from 'Ohmigawd PANIC!' to a nice and healthy 'Freak out later when no one is around'

'That was...unexpected to say the least. Wow, can't believe I...wow that got out of hand fast. Can't believe I just stood there like an idiot...well in my defense I was caught completely off guard to actually feel pain as Clark...scary.' Clark's expression darkens, 'Damn it Lex.' Clark absently rubs his chest feeling the symbol on his chest reminding himself to be strong. He inhales deeply and exhales the negative until the darkness passes.

Glancing about he is relived to see that no one else has noticed his strange(well stranger than usual) behavior today, no one besides Richard that is. Sighing he adjusts his his glasses and once again earns his title as the fastest typist by quickly making up for lost time diving into the massive amount of work left for him to do.

With inhuman multitasking Clark types up articles while is mind is no where close to even paying attention. 'Richard, huh, wonder how I appeared on his radar. Everyone else is comfortable with ignoring me into oblivion, what sparked his interest? Honestly thought it felt goof to not be ignored for once' Superman breaks into his thoughts, 'You were made to be ignored, stay away from Richard' Brow furrowing as a debate begins within our mildly insane kryptonian's head. 'He's nice and kind and a good man, he wouldn't hurt me.' Images of Richard's concerned face float around his mind reassuring the hero inside and he is left alone inside once more.

'I wonder if all kryptonians were like me, or if I am just that messed up inside?' Clark laughs inwardly at his unusual relationship with Superman.

Before too long several stories are completed and ready to be handed in to Perry. Printing the documents up Clark can only hope they will help get himself out of Perry's ire, although his ire is completely deserved. 'I really shouldn't have wallowed in self pity for so long...'

'Weak' Echoes from within and Clark cannot contest the truth of it. The duality of his very being embodies the great strength of one, balanced with the great weakness of the other. There can be no comparison of the two as they are as different as stranger, yet of the same mind. The only weakness and strength they seem to share is each other, separated each half withers. Superman accepts his need of a weak outlet of emotions, and Clark is smug knowing that he is vital to the proud and arrogant god of men.

Banishing thought that would get him an all expense paid trip to the best asylum in metropolis Clark prints off the completed stories taking them up to Mr. White's office, managing to trip only a minimal amount of times before he opens the door. Perry White is sitting in his chair looking out his large window in a rare moment of contemplation. His back is to Clark and he gives no reason to think that he has noticed Clark enter. I little shy at interrupting a very rare moment of stillness and silence Clark opts to leave the articles on Mr. White's desk and leave the older man to his thoughts. Using perfect dexterity Clark closes the door silently and with great reverence.

'Guess I'm not the only one with things on my mind, best to not interfere. A person's thoughts are sacred and should never be intruded upon' Clark thinks a little self deprecatingly at the recent invasion by his alter ego. Silence. 'Er sorry okay that was uncalled for' Clark apologies to himself, well sort of himself, kinda. Even Clark gets confused at times, certainly a very bad sign, but that has been his life for a long time and he's learned to accept it.

Checking the nearby clock mounted to the wall Clark notes there is about two hours until lunch with Richard. He takes note of the many emotions that arrive with the thought. Fear; Will he find out my secret? Anxiety; What should I say, what do normal men(Jimmy does NOT qualify) talk about? Hope; Maybe I'll find a new friend.

Smiling to himself he focuses on the last feeling, letting it grow until he can't wait for lunch. The smile blossoms, Clark could really use another friend, one who sees him and cares.
