He Broke The Rules So What?

Kriystalynn was back at Caleb’s watching Fear, a movie that Kriystalynn had picked out of Cara’s collection before she left Ireland to take with her. She turned her head into Caleb on accident as she was trying to talk to him and noticed his head was leaning against her shoulder. She smiled and slowly shook her head as she saw he had fallen asleep, or so it looked like it. Kriystalynn snuggled up closer to him as David beat the crap out of Gary and accidentally hit Nicole.
As the scene ended Kriystalynn saw a familiar silhouette in the doorway approaching Caleb’s room. She was going to hide under the covers and pop her head out when he came into the room, but she looked over at Caleb and decided she didn’t want to chance waking him up. When the familiar silhouette turned into an actual person she saw a smile upon his face. She nudged Caleb’s side and saw him slowly peer through his mostly closed eyelids.
The visitor, seeing Caleb waking up, moved over to the bed and leaned down before he hugged Kriystalynn. She hugged him back and felt him lift her up off the bed, and then she knew that she was going to be thrown over his shoulder. As she was she started to laugh as he started to spin around he sat her down on the bed and greeted Caleb like they usually greeted each other. She looked up at them and saw Reid in the door. The visitor looked over at her and asked her if she was ready to go. She responded with a one minute as she got up and made her way to the room across the hall.
“So you guys are going to see a movie tonight?” Caleb asked as he looked over at Reid, whose gaze mostly followed Kriystalynn as she left.
“Yeah, it should be fun. The four of us hanging out together. If Tyler wasn’t busy it could be just like old times,” the one said as he plopped down on the bed to wait for Kriystalynn.
“No just the three of you. I have things to do before we go out to dinner.” Caleb’s attention was pulled back to Kriystalynn as she emerged wearing a black strapless dress with a tapered bottom. “Wish I was though,” he whispered more to himself than to them.
“Ready now?” Reid asked.
“Yeah let’s go.” She walked out behind Reid and was followed by the other male that had come with him.
As she entered the black Hummer Caleb walked up to the open door. She turned toward him and smiled as he spoke, “Have fun, Kriys, and behave.” He kissed her cheek and backed away.
“Come on, Caleb, I’m naturally a good girl.” She smiled as Caleb closed the door and lifted a brow at her statement. “Promise. See you at dinner, Cale.”
She looked around the Hummer and noted that it belonged to Tyler. She looked over at the passenger and smiled. His near shoulder length sandy brown hair gave him a certain tough guy look if you didn’t know him and she gave a small laugh from the backseat. He looked at her and gave her a confused look before she shook her head. She thought the eyes were the best part of his and Reid’s face. His eyes were a beautiful honey brown and she knew that she could see how he felt if she looked deep enough into them.
She watched Reid put the vehicle in park in front of what she assumed was a club. She hadn’t remembered it being there when she had left, but she really hadn’t been very far from her home after she had gotten sick. It scared Kelvin into trying to keep her in the house, but Kriystalynn had a free spirit and didn’t like that so he settled for having her close to their home. When Reid got out of the car he opened the door for Kriystalynn and then walked to the front.
Kriystalynn turned to the other male and asked, “What are we doing here, Pogue?”
“You’ll see,” Pogue said with a smile and put an arm around her shoulders.
They got in faster than the others standing there when they saw Kriystalynn’s ID. She looked around and saw the club’s name all over the place. It was called Neko’s Vampire Queen. They sat at a table and Kriystalynn saw a brunette walking up to them and as he got closer that was when she realized that it was her older brother’s club.
He wrapped his arms around her and pulled her away from her friends when the song I’m in Love with a Girl by Gavin DeGraw. He danced with her through the whole song and never spoke of their father. He had her laughing as her older brother saw Reid was trying to watch her without anyone noticing him. He smiled at Kriystalynn as she got used to dancing with him and danced like they were as close as they were when they were little.
“I think you have a fan,” he said as he looked down at her after the song finished and a heavy metal song came on.
“Who are you talking about?” She looked around expecting to see an old perverted guy staring at her.
She heard her brother laugh as he turned her gaze where Reid and Pogue were sitting and she saw Reid look away. “It’s someone you know, Little One.”
“Please don’t call me that, Jamie. It’s creepy now.” She smiled innocently and walked with him back to the table. “Thank you,” she hollered over the music.
“No problem, Kriystalynn,” Pogue responded for him and Reid.
She danced with Pogue most of the night and then some with Pogue and Reid. Pogue looked at his watched and mentioned that there was time for one more dance if Reid wanted to dance with her alone. He gave him the last chance look as Jamie made his way with Kriystalynn back to the table. Reid nodded his head and asked Kriystalynn if she’d dance with him as she walked back toward the dance floor. She grabbed his hand and pulled him along.
As they got into the crowd it started to play a slow dance which almost aggravated her until she heard the familiar words of the song Miss Me Baby by Chris Cagle. As she danced with Reid she felt him slowly pulling her closer to him with each step. Finally she pushed herself against him and laid her head under his chin. He looked down at her as she whispered something. She heard him whispering the words as they continued and felt a pain in her chest as she listened to him. She knew what it was that her brother was trying to tell her, but she wasn’t going to hurt Caleb to be with Reid.
“She seems to really love him, huh?” Jamie asked Pogue as they watched Reid and Kriystalynn dance.
“I hope not, at least not while she is with Caleb.”
“Oh, that would be a bad thing. But I mean at least people here don’t know that. Never mind I am just getting deeper into the hole I was digging.”
“Nah, I am actually surprised they haven’t hooked up. She’s been out with me and now she’s with Caleb. She even went out with Tyler for a few days. Tyler and she agreed that it wasn’t working the way they wanted it too. She and I agreed that the long distance thing was definitely not working for us. Although Caleb won’t say it, and neither will she, they don’t think it’s going to work either.”
“Yet they are together?”
“Yeah, it’s been weird the last few months though. The only thing I hear from her is her asking how Reid is doing.”
“Well she had been having nightmares, so maybe she just wanted to make sure the one more likely to get in trouble was all right.”
“Maybe, I don’t know.”
“I think they are dancing to this song too,” Jamie said as he changed the subject.
“Hopefully this is the last one. We have to go get the movie in then drop her off at the restaurant that Caleb, his mother, and her are having dinner at.”
“Here they come. Have fun, beautiful?”
“I did.”
They walked to the door and Jamie pulled Kriystalynn away from them for a moment. He pointed her out to the bouncer and the security guard and made sure that they knew she was aloud in no matter what was going on. That included by some small chance that he ended up dead. He also made sure they knew that she’d be their boss if that happened.
She looked up at him with concern as he spoke and followed close to him as they walked over to where Reid and Pogue were standing. Before she got in the vehicle she turned to him and hugged him as hard as she could. She felt him kiss her forehead and then lift her head up.
“What do you think?”
“This place is amazing, Jamie! I love it!”
“I’m glad. I got the name from you, so I was hoping you would like the club.” He watched the smile show up on her face.
“Would I be able to come back tomorrow or the next day?”
“Anytime, Vampire Queen, doesn’t matter if there is a line ten miles long they’ll let you in without a second question. Cool?”
“Yeah, that’s cool. I missed you, Jamie. Take care of yourself.”
“I will. I love you, Kriystalynn.”
“I love you too, Jamie.” He pulled her into a hug and when he stepped back she thought she saw tears in his eyes. “Jamie,” she shook her head and then smiled, “if he never says it, would it matter to you?”
“No, not if I hear it from you.”
“I’m proud of you. If no one else is. Know that I am proud of you, Jamie.” She kissed his cheek and Jamie picked her up before he put her into the Hummer.
“Have fun, Little One. It’s 2005 and any movie you wish to see is out.”
“Amityville Horror. I’ve been hearing it’s a good horror flick to watch.”
Jamie watched Kriystalynn give Pogue a skeptical look as Jamie said, “I liked it a lot, but it is not for everyone. Call me later, Kriys.” Jamie closed the door as Reid and Pogue rolled up their windows.
Pogue bought all three tickets and Reid decided he’d buy the large popcorn and the three large drinks. Kriystalynn looked around admiring the theater that had just been put up a couple of years after she left. She thought it was beautiful as she turned around to face the two boys she turned into Reid, who was holding their Pepsis. She bit her lower lip as she said sorry and they made their way into the movie.
The seats in the theater were comfortable and you could put up the arm rest and move closer to the person next to you. Kriystalynn sat between Reid and Pogue. She sat her drink in the cup holder between her and Pogue while Reid and Pogue both sat theirs in the cup holders beside the empty seats next to them. She lifted the arm rest up so she could sit with her feet in the seat with her as she sat closer to Reid, which Pogue didn’t seem to say anything about.
She was fine when the movie started but when it reached the part where the little boy went to the bathroom on his own and a dead body appeared in the mirror with blood dripping from its mouth Kriystalynn turned her head from the movie and moved closer to Reid. He looked down at her and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. He kissed the top of her head as he assured her that the part was over, and that she could look at the screen again. She opened an eye to see if he was lying to her and then averted her eyes back onto the screen as Reid passed the popcorn down to Pogue, who had laughed at Kriystalynn’s unusual reaction to a horror movie. When she gave him an evil look he stifled the remainder if his laughter and turned his attention back to the movie.
She found herself turning from the movie and into Reid’s shoulder a number of times. Kriystalynn found that she was afraid of some of the scenes in the movie and turned into Reid when they came up. Reid just looked down at her and told her when she could look. As one particular part came up Kriystalynn jumped and Reid found she was sitting with him. He turned in the seat and then pulled her closer as she now sat between his legs. Kriystalynn grabbed her drink and held it as Pogue lifted the arm rest before moving closer to them.
Kriystalynn put her legs over his lap as he closed the space between them and made it so they only look up two and a half seats. Pogue looked over at them through the corner of his eye and couldn’t tell if they were dating or not. Kriystalynn yawned as she closed her eyes and found herself determined not to watch anymore of the movie. She sipped on her drink and placed it on the ground before holding the arm Reid had wrapped around her shoulders with one of her hands and put the other in her lap.
When the movie was over Reid lifted her up and carried her out of the theater. Pogue had all ready thrown his drink away so he carried Reid’s and Kriystalynn’s drinks to the trash can outside the theater’s doors. Pogue rushed to open the Hummer door for Reid so he could put Kriystalynn in the back seat. Pogue looked at Reid after he had buckled her in and closed the door. He mouthed something about her faking sleep the entire time and Reid gave him a light nod. She usually wakes up briefly when someone moves her and then goes back to sleep, when she fakes being asleep she doesn’t do that. Reid and Pogue seemed to have both caught that she hadn’t even opened one eye when Reid lifted her from him lap as he stood.
Pogue and Reid dropped Kriystalynn off at the restaurant and when Pogue wasn’t looking she gave Reid a quick kiss good-bye. The dinner with Caleb and his mother went by slowly as they discussed what had happened in Ipswich while she had left. Some of the things his mother told her she had all ready heard from Caleb, but let her tell them anyways so Kriystalynn didn’t hurt her feelings. After dinner she rode up front with Caleb and the drive was in complete silence, with the exception of a few songs being played on the radio that she actually heard. Kriystalynn kept hearing what she told Reid when she was twelve and leaving being repeated in her head. She had this feeling that if she went out with him again, which is most likely what Bradon wants her to do, that something horrible was going to happen.
She looked over at Caleb as he drove and faded into sleep as she stared at his face. She groaned when he picked her up to carry her inside the house and then tossed and turned when he laid her in the bed. Caleb managed to calm her down enough to hear her whisper Bradon’s name. He kissed her forehead and went to get his mom. She gave him the news about her having a fever and that her fit was from the fever only.
When she awoke the next morning she was covered in sweat and had Caleb’s shirt clinging to her as his arms were wrapped around her waist holding her close to him. She watched as he willing rolled over like she wanted him to before three Tylenol and a bottle of water appeared in her lap after she sat up. She picked up the items and walked to the bathroom so she could run a shower. As she waited for the water to heat up she took the aspirin and downed the water.
When she got out of the shower she got dressed in a pair of tight stretch YMI jeans and a dark grey belly shirt that had a red fabric paint stripe on her right side. After she got dressed she walked over to Caleb then bent down to kiss his forehead like he had done to hers the night before. She headed toward her car after that and then drove off to see her little brother. Something felt really different to her about the day, as if something was going to go wrong.
She held her breath as she ran up the stairs barefooted and into his room. She saw Reid was sitting next to Bradon talking to him when she entered. Bradon looked over at her with a confused look while Reid hurried over to her as she hit her knees. He couldn’t get her to calm down enough to tell him what was wrong, but Reid knew he wasn’t going to let her go until he was sure she was all right. Some how she managed to calm down enough to let Reid help her up and for her to walk over to sit beside her little brother and hold him.
When an hour and a half went by Reid suggested that they go grab something for breakfast and come back. Kriystalynn agreed after a few minutes of consideration and kissed Bradon’s forehead and cheeks before she left with Reid. She insisted they take her car and he insisted that if they did he would be driving still. She agreed as she climbed into the passenger seat of the Mercedes and proceeded to wait for Reid to get in the vehicle. As they ate breakfast Reid convinced her to tell him what the scenario at the hospital was all about.
She looked around before she explained the strange dream that kept reoccurring involving her brother and the initials ACJ. He looked at her as he drank the coffee the waitress had just refilled and waited for her to continue. She gave a sigh before proceeding to tell him about how she had gotten this terrible feeling earlier when she was heading out. About how she felt the day was going to be different, that it felt almost wrong to her. She looked up at him with sad eyes and heard him tell her that it would be okay and that he’d make sure nothing terrible happened. She smiled at him and finished up the small breakfast she had gotten.
They spent the rest of the morning and part of the afternoon with Bradon, who enjoyed seeing Kriystalynn truly smile and laugh. When Kriystalynn started singing to Bradon Reid noticed a man standing in the doorway and recognized him as Kelvin. He just nodded his head at Reid and waited for Bradon to fall asleep before practically pushing Kriystalynn from the room. Reid knew he shouldn’t get in the middle of it, but Kriystalynn faked not hitting the wall hard and Reid knew it. So after the three of them had gotten far enough away from Bradon’s room and before Kriystalynn could stop him Reid had punch Kelvin in the face, breaking his nose, before calmly walking over to Kriystalynn to make sure she was all right.
Kriystalynn glared at Reid as they walked to her car and the security came out after them. She held her arm and rubbed it as they questioned Reid. He explained that he didn’t mean to hit him, but that the young lady with him hadn’t done anything to him to deserve to be shoved against a wall. She turned her back on him as she gave an aggravated sigh. Reid was told that he was to stay away from the father and was only aloud to see the son when a nurse or doctor was in there with him.
After it was over Reid looked over at Kriystalynn and frowned at her back as she leaned against her car. She had put down the top and was looking under the hood when Reid hugged her from behind. He kept the frown on his face as she turned around angrily and let him know it.
“What the hell were you thinking in there, Reid? Please share what was going through your damn head when you hit him?” Kriystalynn’s eyes seemed to have tears trying to stream from them as she practically screamed at him. “Huh, Reid?”
“I’m sorry, Kriys, I just wasn’t going to let him do that shit to you. The fact you weren’t going to say anything means that he could have beaten you to near death and you wouldn’t have accused him of it!”
“That wasn’t any of your business! It was mine. I can handle that ass just fine on my own.” Reid had looked away from her so she made him look back at her before she said, “Reid, thank you for what you did, but next time don’t do it. You can get in trouble for hitting him even if you are still a minor and you know that. Especially since he’s gotten you for hitting him before. Please don’t do it again or I’m going to have to hit you myself.”
Reid made sure his eyes didn’t meet hers as he made his way to the driver side of the car. “Are we going to be able to go to Nicky’s together tonight? Or is Caleb going to keep you to himself?” He made a stab at changing the subject and hoped that she would comply with his request.
“Reid, um, I…” She looked over at her car as she heard a voice telling her to say yes to going with him. “I love…love to go to Nicky’s with you.”
“Good, I’ll get you tonight at…I don’t know. Maybe in 4 hours or 3 hours.”
Reid opened the driver’s door and waited for Kriystalynn to get into her vehicle. She smiled up at him as she got within inches away from him. He looked down at her lips and Kriystalynn saw that so she licked them slowly, which made Reid unable to resist leaning down and kissing them. As Reid’s lips touched hers she found herself unable to resist kissing him back while deepening the kiss and pulling him closer. Reid pulled away from her as he felt his hand creeping up her shirt and his look was a What the hell am I doing? one.
“I got to go now,” Kriystalynn said getting into her car quickly and watched Reid slam down her hood, noting his confusion as he starred at her sadly. “Caleb’s mom wanted to take me shopping today and, as much as I don’t want to, I told her I would.” She was hoping to wipe the sad look off of his face.
“Yeah, I have to jet anyways. Just Remembered Tyler needed my help,” he stumbled backwards toward his vehicle.
“See you in four hours,” Kriystalynn shouted as she backed up and pulled away.
When she got to Caleb’s house she couldn’t look at Caleb as she sat waiting outside for his mom. He didn’t ask her about it, but he just starred at her and she knew what he was thinking. It was the same think she had been thinking and knew they both had been thinking it for a while now. When Evelyn got into the car Kriystalynn watched as Caleb nodded toward her and walked inside. Evelyn didn’t notice as she turned to Kriystalynn with a This is going to be a fun day smile and Kriystalynn found herself having to fake the same smile.
“Where did you head off to this morning,” Evelyn asked as they made their way toward the closest mall, which was about an hour or so drive.
“I went to go see Bradon and had some breakfast a while later and then returned to see him again,” Kriystalynn purposely left out that Reid had been with her because she was still trying to process what was happening when she was around him and why she reacted to him kissing her like she did.
“That’s all you did? You didn’t go to see any of the others?”
“No, I haven’t gone to see them yet. I’ve been preoccupied with my brother to really do anything else.” She sort of lied.
“Well, I hope you don’t mind that I planned something for you to attend tonight.”
“Actually, Mrs. Danvers,” she started before she turned and looked over at her briefly, before she said, “no I don’t mind at all.”
“Good, I am glad.”
The rest of the ride to the mall was in silence as Kriystalynn wondered how to tell Reid that she wasn’t going to be able to meet him at Nicky’s or go with him to Nicky’s either. She ran scenarios in her mind of what was going on until she spotted the mall and had to find a parking spot. Evelyn happily pointed one out to her and Kriystalynn took it to please her and not start anything with her boyfriend’s mother.
The entire time that they were there Kriystalynn kept hearing songs that reminded her of Reid and it was aggravating her to the point she wanted to scream aloud. She had to stop thinking of him because she was Caleb’s girlfriend and not Reid’s. She finally got some rest when she stopped by an accessory store after Evelyn had bought her a beautiful, curve defining, silky mini dress with spaghetti straps. There wasn’t any music playing in the store and that relieved Kriystalynn of thinking too much on the subject of what she was going to do afterwards.
Kriystalynn watched as Evelyn took a call and pretended not to listen to the conversation as she browsed the necklace rack. Evelyn looked over at Kriystalynn before she told her that Caleb was picking her up and that she’d see Kriystalynn back at the house for the party. Kriystalynn gave a smile, hugged her, and then waited until she left before she actually started to look at the jewelry.
She held the dress, that was in a clear cover bag, up to pick jewelry that would best go with the outfit she was wearing that night. She found this beautiful round ancient Roman glass with cross necklace that was eighteen inches that she thought looked really good with the dress. After that she went to look for earrings, simple ones since the necklace was going to cost her a small fortune. When she located the drop dead gorgeous tear drop diamond earrings she also found a ten karat white gold five stone black diamond ring. She decided then that nothing in this store was fake and that added up the small fortune was going to be in jewelry alone and cost more than her dress, and she knew she shouldn’t buy all of what she wanted from there but she found them too beautiful to resist.
Besides Cara is always telling me to spend some of my money, so what’s the harm in spending it on jewelry. It’s the money I earned not the money I inherited, so I am not using Lucus’ money, she thought as the clerk suggest a fourteen karat white gold black diamond heart white that was seven inches and had a prong closer with white diamonds around the bracelet. Kriystalynn took a look at the price and had to think before she accepted the suggestion.
All together the cost was three thousand three hundred thirty-six dollars and thirty-seven cents, which just about killed what she had in her spending account. Before Kriystalynn left the mall she stopped at the store they had bought the dress from and bought another one that was exactly like the one she had in her hand, but made then cover it in a bag that you couldn’t see through. After that she left before she spent anymore of her money on things she was most-likely going to where only once in her entire life. She placed the items in her back seat before she climbed into the driver’s seat only to answer her phone before she could start it. It was Jamie and he needed her to stop by the club before she went to where she was staying. She told Jamie she was going to pick up her two bags she had brought with her, because she had decided that the hotel near Jamie’s place was better to stay at than Caleb’s.
Jamie wanted to protest but her didn’t as he sighed and told her to make it quick, because he was having a really hard time calming the people down and needed her help. She hurried as fast as she could and was glad that Caleb and Evelyn weren’t at the house when she arrived or when she left. She hid the jewelry she has just bought in her larger bag before she turned and got out of her car after she had parked near the front of Neko’s Vampire Queen. The bouncer up front took one look at her holding the new dress and the sweet innocent look on her face, before he tried to not to let her in.
The look on her face changed to one that was similar to Jamie’s when he got pissed off and the bouncer realized that this was the girl everyone was supposed to let in no questions asked after she went to yell at him. When she was passing him she thanked him for letting her in and went to find Jamie. He wasn’t hard to spot since he was the one standing near the bar about to flip out that all the costumers were going to kill him if they didn’t get some entertainment soon. Jamie looked up at her pleadingly as she approached him.
“What’s the big emergency?” Kriystalynn asked as she spotted Reid and Tyler trying to help him out.
“They want something to listen to and I can’t sing worth shit and I thought you’d help me out seeing as you sing so good. Please? At least until the band gets here.” Jamie’s look was almost a sickening one that made you want to accept just to make it go away.
“Jamie, I…OK. You win this round. You owe me though,” Kriystalynn said and then added, “I need somewhere to change though. So I can just leave from here to go to where I need to be.”
“That’s fine. Um, there’s a room I use as my office right before the stage. I guess that’ll work, will it?”
“It’ll be fine. Both the room and the riot you are getting on your hands. I promise. Just chill out and relax.” She smiled and then walked back to the room he was talking about.
She locked the door, changed quickly leaving on the black high heels she was wearing, and folded her clothes up before she opened the door to see Jamie standing in front of it. She shook her head and handed him her folded up clothes. She also handed him the keys to her car and told him to put her in the passenger seat of her car then hold on to the keys until she has to leave. Jamie agreed and watched her make her way onto the stage to try and fix his problem for him.
She took the microphone and looked over at Reid and Tyler, who moved so they were standing one on each side of her. She spoke clearly that she was going to sing requests until the band Jamie had hired for that night showed up. They didn’t listen very well until Reid whispered for her to sing something and she turned to Tyler and told him to pick a song. He nodded and went over to the band that Jamie owns for the clubs regular days and told them a song title. She heard the familiar tune and closed her eyes as the song came to when she should sing.
Her voice filled the room as she sang Holding out for a Hero. Everyone in the club turned and looked at her. They silence slowly crept up and soon everyone was tuned into Kriystalynn singing. She opened her eyes and looked over at Reid and Tyler to notice there was surprise on there face.
By the time she was singing Somewhere after midnight in my wildest fantasy, she had everyone’s attention and at the end of the song they were screaming for her to sing another so she started With You by Jessica Simpson. She got through about twenty songs or more before the actual band showed up and some of them were sung with Reid and Tyler. She quickly got off the stage followed by Reid and Tyler before she walked up to Jamie and gave him a kiss on the check as she got her keys back from him.
When she got outside she saw something trying to get into her vehicle after Tyler had left to go get ready for the Get together and Reid was going to ride with her to his house, because he wanted to speak to her on his way there. As they got closer they noticed it wasn’t human and it wanted to fight. Kriystalynn had just enough time to remove her heels and place them on the abandoned sidewalk before it attacked them.
Kriystalynn made sure she didn’t use her power and tried to keep Reid from using his. Five minutes after the battle had started Kriystalynn gave up that tactic and started throwing everything she had at him. Reid saw her and stood there in shock as it came after him and she got beside Reid. They both used their powers at the same time blowing the thing up and getting green slime like stuff all over them. She watched as the thing disintegrated at their feet.
“What the hell was that?” Reid asked as she pulled two towel like sheets out of her trunk and tossed one to him.
“I have no idea what that thing was, but he sure seemed to like you.” She tired to get some of the stuff off of her and was unable to. “I guess we need soap and water to remove this stuff,” she said in a voice like they did on the commercial that told you Can be removed with soap and water.
“Not that the other thing.”
“Reid, there was only one thing, not two. Are you OK?” She asked as she looked over at him as she sat the towel like sheet over her seat so she wouldn’t ruin her seat or her seat covers.
“The power thing…You have powers?” Reid’s face was in shock as she shrugged her shoulders and took the one she had thrown at him and cover the passenger seat with it. “You don’t shrug at my question, you answer it,” he said as he swung her around when she went to walk away. “When?”
“Since Lucus died. So at like twelve. I had the dreams since mom died, but you kind of all ready know that. It’s not a big deal, Reid. Just leave it be.”
“Yes, yes it is. It’s a big deal if you end up dying.”
“He broke the rules, so what? I would do it now if I could. I tried. Once I have it I can’t get rid of it until…I don’t know when. I am not going to die from it. I haven’t used it that much to do so. I respect it to much to over use it, to become addicted to it. You on the other hand use it whenever you feel like it and it’s going to kill you,” she said in a concerned yet highly pissed off tone. “If it doesn’t kill you you’ll end up like…” she stopped and looked away from him. “Never mind. Just get in the car so I can take you to your house and we can get going. I need to change anyways.”
Reid watched her climb into the driver’s seat and stood there with the passenger door open for a minute. He didn’t know what it was about hearing her say that made him realize what everyone else was telling him. He didn’t want to leave her at all, whether he died or she tried to walk away from him, and he looked down at her as he watched her look at him in confusion. That’s when he knew he had to say something to her.
