Go Time

A few hours later found us dressed for action. The guys were wearing matching outfits, they’d been surprised when I’d brought them out. “Well, you have everything covered I see.” Tristan said and I had smiled slowly. “All I need is your hot bodies.” Riley gave me an arch look, his chest puffing out stupidly. “All you had to do was ask.” He groaned, stretching his arms up, muscles bulging in his arms. I smacked him on the butt. “Dork.”

I’d special ordered them leather pants, and leather vests with lots of buckles, very gothic looking that covered them from throat to hip, but left their impressive arms bare.
I was the first rider, Conquest. I was wearing white leather pants that laced at the sides, and a vest that laced up the front, lifting my breasts up a little, showing off some tasteful cleavage. The vest left just a bit of belly bare and I’d put on a gold chain, sparkling against my pale skin. I left my hair loose and curling, pulled it half back so that when Taylor saw me, he’d not mistake my face. On my brow, I wore a gold circlet, representing the crown of Conquest.

Aunt Lisa loaned me a white mare, nearly as big as Necromancer.

I walked to each of the guys and placed my hand on their chests, spilling power from my hand to brand the appropriate emblems on the leather.
Peyton was the Second Rider, War. His horse was red and he got to wear muted red leather pants and a black vest, on it, I made a red, gleaming sword. I’d also gotten him a real sword to wear at his hip.

Tristan was the Third Rider. Famine. He wore all black. On his vest I made golden scales. He was going to ride my Necromancer. Because he was so evilly handsome, I got him a sword too.

And Riley was the Fourth Rider. Death. His own horse stood as The Pale Horse, a dapple grey gelding. I had special ordered Riley gray leather. With his hair, he looked pale and perfect, deathly. I burned a scythe on his vest.

They were quiet as I moved among them, eager to do this.
We all swung up on the horses and waited while the parents took pictures. But now that I was thinking about it, photo evidence might not have been the best idea. “There will be no displays of magic to the public.” My father said as he came down the steps to us. I smiled at him sweetly. “Of course not daddy, I mean we might flash our eyes, but it’s Halloween, people will just think they’re contacts.”

My father had no idea what we were planning. I’d made the guys swear not to say a word to my parents until after Taylor had been convicted. My mother came down next, followed by the rest of the gang. “What are you supposed to be anyway?” We bowed at the waist. “The Four Horsemen of The Apocalypse and if I may say so, the destruction of Man never looked this hot.” Aunt Lisa shook her head at her son. “My son looks a bit sickly.” Riley stuck out his bottom lip petulantly. “I’m Death mom, I’m supposed to look sickly. And Handsome.” Her eyebrows lifted and she nodded. “You do, the leather is…interesting. This isn’t some BSDM thing right?” All of us gaped at her. “MOM!” Riley hissed, his face turning nine shades of red.

Tristan and Peyton smirked and I just rolled my eyes. “I promise Aunt Lisa, no BSDM fantasies here. What have you been reading lately?” She swatted my thigh and blushed. My mom did not look convinced and I knew she suspected something was up, I just knew. So I smiled brightly. “Yes well, were off to make man Repent.” Aunt Paige, who was far too intelligent for my own peace of mind looked at me suspiciously. “Repent?”
“Yup, in the Bible God sent out The Four to make the world of man Repent, otherwise they would unleash war, death and famine. Oh and the Antichrist.”

I said with a sweet smile. My mother was now looking worried. “I didn’t know you read the bible honey.” I just kept that sweet innocent smile. “I don’t. If I touched one it might burst into flames.” That got a laugh from our fathers. But the moms knew something was up, damn. “Better get going Cherish, nights not getting any younger.” Peyton drawled and I nodded. “Yeah. Bye parents. We’ll be at the colony house before two.” Before my Ascension. So many things to do, so little time!

All of us were accomplished riders, having grown up in each other’s houses and all. We squeezed our knees and the horses reared up to paw the air dramatically. God I love Halloween. On horseback, it took us twenty minutes to get to the Dells. Anyone who saw us would later say that there had been four riders, with horses whose eyes glowed red that galloped past their house.
