chapter five

Megatron moved fast. From his bulky arm formed a large cannon, humming dangerously. my eyes wide in fear as i clutch my sensitive little ears i whimper. seeing the wounded con i gasp in horror wishing i could help the pour spark. i jump seeing his arm transform and watch with wide eyes. another loud noice and i whimper again trembling, blood seeps between my fine fingers. the concusive noise so loud its making my ears bleed* Barricade set the young woman down in a niche in the tunnel wall, he too preparing himself for battle, but before either of the two Decepticons could defend themselves, the Autobots descended upon them.

Too many to count, the enemy Cybertronians surrounded the two Decepticons, an intimidating array of weapons aimed straight at Megatron, who defiantly held his pulse cannon raised in defense.

A tall Autobot stepped forward, his weapon aimed at Megatron's chest, his armour cerulean flames on red, his optics, a startling bright blue.

"Optimus...!" hissed the Decepticon leader menacingly, his jagged teeth grinding together in anger and frustration.

The tall Cybertronian blinked, his pulse cannon humming.

"Brother." spoke the Autobot, his voice a deep and commanding acknowledgement. "I can not let you go through with this. Let the human go."

A terrible silent chuckle rippled through Megatron as he answered. "...And why should I? I cannot recall you giving your human up?"

Blinking once more, the Autobot shook his head.

"I should have." Optimus answered truthfully, his deep voice saddened.

The terrible chuckle arose again as Megatron's answer to his foe, and burst into a raw, bitter laugh. "Always the conscience of the world, are you not, Prime? And look where -that- got you!"

Bright blue optics wavering, the Autobot lowered his gaze for a split second, as though the mention of "his" human pained him. Looking up once more, Optimus steadied himself, the dangerous humming of his pulse cannon rising in pitch.

"...Let the human go." i watch wide eyed and look up at my "captors" wondering if i should step out and tell them they are not holding me by force. my heart racing as i hope he doesnt shoot. theres a clang and with dread i realize a smaller yellow bot has found me. i back up trying to get..

i back up trying to get away from him* Approaching the frightened human female, the yellow Autobot kept his large optics on the two Decepticons who had not noticed him coming up behind them. Lowering his weapons, he motioned for the girl to be quiet, lifting a careful finger before where his lips would have been, had he been fitted with mouthplates. The look in his bright eyes filled with true concern and compassion. *frowns and slowly calms and whispers just loud enough for him to hear and no other my wide inoccent eyes brmming with tears* p-please dont hurt them....i came wilingly.....please....*tears fall like small crystals down my face* Optics widening, the yellow Autobot tilted his head slightly to one side, as though the words spoken did not make any sense to him, but as the girl had finished, he nodded, motioning again for her to stay quiet and follow him. *not sure whether to trust the yellow mech or not i slowly timidly follow doing as im told. and watching the others worried that he may be lying and may hurt them or take me away* Leading her away from the group, the smaller Autobot understood her concern, and touched his chestplates with a closed fist, nodding to her in the hope she would understand neither of his comrades had any intention of harming their adversaries.

Far behind now, could be heard the voices of Optimus and Megatron, engaged in a locked conversation, a battle of wills.

Barricade had seen the small scout's attempts to usher the human away, and all though ire swept through him at the sight of his deadliest enemy, he could not deny a certain amount of gratitude and relief when he understood she would be safe from Megatron if she were with the enemy, and so, he did nothing. *still timidly following i couldnt help but keep looking back worried. seeing the yellow bots action tho i gave a small cute smile in return and tried to keep up with the mech my small legs working overtime simply to keep up* Picking her up, the scout held her close to his chest ready to protect her with his body. As he hurried down a smaller tunnel heading slightly upward, a hoarse whisper broke the silence.

"Hey, Bee!"

Stopping, looking downwards, the mech gave a small sound of relief, his bright blue optics illuminating a small mechanical creature, hiding in a nook in the craggy cave wall.

No larger than a child's toy remote monster-truck, the small being blinked, his optics glowing red in the near darkness.

Gesturing with one free hand, the Autobot called "Bee" made a soft, inquiring noise.

"It's through here!" the small creature answered, speeding ahead of the scout in a velocity that seemed near impossible for a being of his stature.

Following, the Autobot held the human in his arms, cradling her as though she were a child, until the mismatching pair, the minute toy-like creature and the large yellow scout, came to the end of the tunnel.

Setting her down, Bee quickly took the shape of his vehicle form, a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro, and opened the passenger door for the girl to enter.

Zapping past her, the small Cybertronian wheeled his way, jumping into the interior of his larger friend, impatiently waving for her to follow.

"Hey, lady!" he ordered "What'cha doi'n? Picking flowers? Come on!" *hesitantly i ask* b-but barricade....*my eyes filling with tears wondering if this mech had lied to me my tearfull eyes seem to make the smaller one uneasy and i frown* ighing irritatedly, the small creature stomped the open door of the yellow Camaro, his red optics impatient. "We'll tell ya later!" he voiced hoarsely "We need to go! Now!"

*squeaks and gets in head down feeling like a scolded puppy. doesnt speak just curls up and looks out window worried fro some reason about my "captor and gaurdian*

As soon as the girl was safely seated within his grasp, the Camaro jolted forward, speeding away from the Decepticon lair as fast as his engine would let him.

The toy-like creature hopped up on the seat next to the female and wheeled closer, blinking at the sight of her pendant. "Whoaaa..." he exclaimed, bowing his head. "The Key of Life!"

*i blink and frown at his actions blushing faintly* w-why are you bowing~ *i ask timidly squeaking as the camaro vaults forward making my blush darken*

The small mechanical being, looked up at the human, his optics reflecting a deep respect.

"They didn't tell ya?" he asked, his voice cracked with emotion.

*blushes and mumbles* b-barricade told me yes...but i didnt think i  was all that important....he said i was...but still...i....just figured it was more the key~

"The thing you're weari'n is the last shard of the Cube!" the small creature spoke, his voice quivering with awe and respect. Reaching out, he reverently touched it and looked up into the eyes of the rescued human. "That thing is what created the Universe!"

*i nod blushing and shifting nervously clasping my small soft hand around it* i know that....i just cant beilive im the one who carries it...

"That's not an accident."

Fastening the seatbelt tighter around his newfound human friend, the small alien hopped up into her lap, red optics fastened to her eyes.

"They told ya 'bout your lineage, those Decepticons? They must have. You're the second half of the Key."

*squeaks and blinks looking at the small bot and nodding timidly* y-yes barricade told me everything~ *adopts a small frown* t-tehy wont hurt barricade right? *eyes fill with tears*

Optics widening at her words, the minute Cybertronian shook his head as if he had misheard her words. "You have FEELINGS for him???"

Shaking his head, he lifted his servos to his forehead in exasperation. "He's a Decepticon! He ain't got no spark!"

*jumps as he yells and looks alittle scared but soon becomes angry eyes flashing slightly as growls out* he does so! he was very kind to me! hes shown me nothing but respect! and he let you guys take me away so that megatron couldnt do anything! *looks away and mumbles* plus....ive had my ear pressed right to his chestplate....he definately has a spark...*mumbles and is now sad again sniffling slightly*

Startled by the human's outbreak, the toy-like creature fell from his perch on her lap and down onto the rubber floor mat next to her feet. Scrambling up against the seat, then climbing up again against her legs, he bowed his head again as he had reached the seat.

"I'm sorry, Miss." he spoke quietly. "I just... have never met a human female who has had... feelings for a Decepticon."

Sadness seemed to weigh him down as he spoke again.

"Decepticons will say and do things to make ya trust them. They'll lie to ya, trick ya, and use ya, just as they damn well like, and then, when they don't have anymore use of ya, they'll leave ya for scraps. They're cold-sparked, manipulative bastards! Believe me, Lady..." he lowered his optics, shoulders dropping as though he carried an immense weight upon them "...I know, because I was once one of them."

*winces in sympathy as sees him fall.  hearing his words a sharp pain forms in my chset and my eyes become dull. saddened. after a few moments silence i simply nod drawing my knees up and hiding my face behind my hair and knees. i remain silent the rest of the journy a sharp and heavy pain in my heart tears rolling down my cheeks to fall onto my legs. my small body trembling slightly i say nothing and no longer react to any prompting.*

Respectfully, the small ex-Decepticon rolled away from the upset girl, curling up in a corner, powering down.

Driving on in silence, Bee toned the tint in his windows down against the blazing morning sun, converged with his larger friends and headed further and further away from the Decepticon headquarters.

*silently i cried untill falling asleep with only one thought on my mind* 'what about barricade' *even though i knew what the small mech had said was probably true i couldnt help it...i worried and cared deeply for my captor*
