Epilogue
The quiet hum of the ship’s engines was drowned out by a scuffle that originated from the hold area. Grunts of pain and breathless curses were accompanied by the sickening thud of fists against flesh. The pilot of the vessel shook his head in disgust and tried to concentrate on the landing sequence that flashed across the screen. He knew it had been a bad idea to allow the two younger men to accompany him on this visit. They got on his nerves under the best of circumstances, being locked in such close quarters with them was a sentence he didn’t deserve.
Fingers flying over the ship’s controls, Eitan smoothly guided the ship toward the assigned landing pad. By the time he’d expertly landed and shut the vessel down, silence had settled in behind him. A weary sigh broke from his lips as he stood and went to fetch his passengers. Pausing in the entranceway to the hold, he wasn’t at all surprised to find the two men sitting in the middle of the floor, arms and legs wrapped around one another as they engaged in a session of torrid kissing.
“You two have five minutes to make yourselves presentable.”
His harsh words had them pulling away from one another with reluctance. He was disgusted to see an array of fresh bruises and scrapes marring both of the handsome faces, the white haired man grinning lazily as desire glistened in his eyes.
“We’ll catch up later.”
His companion nodded vigorously in agreement, before burying his face in his lovers neck. Striding forward with determination, Eitan grasped the back of their tunics and hauled them both to their feet, shaking them for good measure.
“I don’t care if this is your honeymoon, you will greet our hosts alongside of me. If not, I will turn this ship around and head right back to Coruscant and allow you to deal with the Council right away.”
Ignoring the mumbled grumbling, he spun on his heel and strode over to where they’d piled their travel bags. Tossing the two young men theirs, he tucked his own underneath his arm and headed for the exit ramp.
“Make me put up with your twisted and lewd behavior and then have the gall to tell me to run along like I’m nothing more than your glorified chauffer. I’ll show the both of you just who’s in charge here…”
Bruck and Garen exchanged laughing glances as they fell into step beside the Jedi Master, their shoulders brushing against one another. They’d both only recently been knighted and had wedded in secrecy mere hours later. Since the last year had kept them both busy preparing for their Trials, any visits to Telos had been put on hold. For that reason they’d chosen the planet as the place to escape the Council’s watchful eye and spend time rejoicing in one another and their new relationship, plus spend time with Obi-Wan.
As luck would have it, Eitan had been preparing to pay a visit himself and they’d been able to hitch a ride. The older Jedi’s vow of celibacy had been sorely tested as he’d been forced to watch the two engage in wild bouts of coupling where ever the urge struck them. It hadn’t helped matters any when Garen had offered to let Eitan join in. He’d unexpectedly found himself laying flat on his back, jaw aching from the blow the Jedi Master had leveled him with. They hadn’t made another offer the remainder of the trip.
The ramp lowered to reveal their hosts, Xanatos with an arm slung around his young lover’s shoulders. Obi-Wan was beaming with health and happiness as Eitan neared. Ignoring the stormy expression on the Jedi’s face, he wound his arms around the taller man’s neck and pulled him down for a kiss of greeting.
“It’s good to see you again Eitan,” Obi-Wan told him, a sideways glance revealing Xanatos scowling at the enthusiastic greeting. “Thank you for bringing Bruck and Garen along.”
“It’s good to see you two also.” The grudging admission was cut short as Eitan tossed a glare over his shoulder. “Just keep those two far away from me the rest of our stay.”
Before they could question him further, he hurried toward the entrance of the main house. Bruck and Garen soon found themselves leveled with a narrow eyed look of suspicion from sapphire eyes that had them both smiling sheepishly.
“What the hell did you do to him?”
Obi-Wan rested a calming hand on his lover’s arm as he felt the protective currents beginning to stir through their bond. Xanatos still carried lingering feelings of jealousy toward Bruck even though he had no doubts who held Obi-Wan’s love and devotion. And even though he would never admit it publicly, Xanatos was very protective of Eitan and his feelings.
“Nothing!” Both men protested in unison, looks of innocence pasted on their faces as they drew closer to one another as if closing ranks against the fallen Jedi.
Eager to divert a fight, Obi-Wan pressed himself against his lover’s side, free hand caressing the rigid muscles in Xanatos’s arm as he studied his two friends. They looked happy and unabashedly in love with one another, a fact which thrilled him. His greatest hope had been for Bruck to find someone who could offer him the unquestioning love that he deserved. Although Garen was rough around the edges and would require a firm hand to keep in control, Bruck seemed content to take on the task full time.
“So congratulations are in order I hear. On both your Knighthood and the vows you exchanged.”
Obi-Wan gave his lover a nudge when Xanatos made a derisive noise as Bruck and Garen turned to gaze into one another’s eyes with looks of adoration. The expression on Bruck’s face as he briefly turned to meet the fallen Jedi’s stare was both challenging and warning at the same time. The young Jedi wasn’t afraid to stand up to Xanatos’s attempts at intimidation, a fact which did nothing to endear him to the older man.
“Thanks Obi-Wan. I’m glad we listened to your advice and spoke openly with Master Yoda about our feelings for one another.” Bruck slid an amused glance in Garen’s direction. “Garen was most eloquent in pleading our case.”
A blush stained the handsome young man’s tanned features at the jibe. “It’s not every day you find yourself discussing your sex life with the head of the Council. I was nervous.”
Obi-Wan and Bruck shared a laugh at his expense, even Xanatos smiling slightly. “Well I’m glad you decided to spend your free time here with us. The guest house is fully stocked with everything you’ll need and you’ll have complete privacy. I only ask that you spend at least one evening with us before you have to head back.”
“With pleasure,” Bruck replied, his gaze briefly meeting Xanatos’s. “Thank you for inviting us.”
Garen grasped his lover’s hand and began to tug him in the direction of the guest house. Rolling his eyes at the haste and rudeness of his life partner, Bruck allowed himself to be swept away, tossing a wave over his shoulder. Watching them go, Obi-Wan wasn’t surprised when Xanatos pulled him close and initiated a deep kiss. He wound his arms around the taller man’s neck and poured all of the love and desire he felt into the return stroke of his tongue.
They’d been together for four years now and their mutual love and respect had only strengthened. There had of course been fights in that time, both men head strong and stubborn to a fault. But making up afterwards had made even the rough patches worthwhile in the long run.
Xanatos broke off the kiss, his dark blue eyes searching the younger man’s. Obi-Wan could feel the flutters of insecurity along the bond and smiled inwardly. It was still hard for him to comprehend just how deeply Xanatos’s feelings for him went. Only when they were lying alone in each other’s arms was he able to truly grasp the scope of the threads that bound them in the Force.
“Happy?”
The simple question went much deeper and they both knew it. Almost purring with contentment, Obi-Wan stretched up on his tip-toes and nibbled on a ear.
“Completely, in heart, body and soul, but I have been rather insolent today. I think you should take me to bed and teach me a lesson about showing you the proper respect you deserve.”
An almost feral grin split pale features as Xanatos grasped his arm in an almost painful hold and began to hustle them toward the main house. Obi-Wan was grinning himself as he imagined the hours of pleasure in store for them both.
