Olympias eyed Hephaistion heavily. She examined every inch of his being while he entered the dinning hall with her son. Something was not right. She could feel it.
Hephaistion felt the heavy glare coming from Olympias and smiled, “How do you fair today Olympias?”
“I am well,” she responded quickly, “How are you?”
“Perfect,” he said while placing a kiss to her check.
Olympias continued to watch Hephaistion as she ate her meal. She saw the quick kisses they stole from each other and the endearments of love they shared.
“I’m done! I’m done! Let’s go play,” Teodor exclaimed marching around the hall releasing Olympias from her thoughts.
“I’ll take care of Teodor for you?”
“No that is not needed mother, we are going to spend time with him today. I cleared my day just to spend time with my family,” Alexander responded.
“Very well,” she said as she rose, “that gives me a day to myself.”
Hephaistion hesitated a bit when Olympias’ eyes met his as she rose from her seat and left the room. Did she notice?
“Come Hephaistion,” Alexander said with his hand out.

Step one of Bagoas’ plan was complete. He found where the cook hid the special potion that Olympias made to keep Hephaistion tame and replaced it with the same colored water. No one would know the difference. Now Bagoas needed to find the recipe, the ingredients, and whatever else Olympias used in order to make the potion and destroy it all.
Last time he checked Olympias was with Teodor in the dinning hall. Which was a perfect time for him to unlock the contents of the box, this time he was prepared and brought the necessary items. He also disguised himself as a mere household servant, so that no one would suspect him.
The guards at Olympias’ door let him in easily enough and he was quickly knelt before the locked chest. With his picking tools he managed to unlock the lock, and in it found several of items, including locks of hair, trinkets and other things that were not recognizable to Bagoas.
After searching for quite some time Bagoas found a book of spells. One page was marked with a red sash. Bagoas smiled after reading it, this was the spell that Olympias put on Hephaistion. He ripped the page out of the book and put it in his pocket. He closed the chest and put it back where it belonged and quickly left the room.
On his way back to the harem, he crossed Olympias. Bagoas quickly covered his face so that the witch wouldn’t recognize him.
As they passed each other they both looked directly into one another’s eyes. What Olympias didn’t know was that under all that covering, Bagoas was smiling.
