and REVIEW
Bagoas ran quickly down the hall, there was no time to waste. It seemed after every window he passed he could distinctly see the sun lowering itself.
“This isn’t good, the gods must be playing a trick on me.”
“What isn’t good Bagoas?”
Bagoas knew that voice, he regained his composure, turned and bowed, “My king, it is nothing of your concern.”
“I believe you are wrong Bagoas. I saw you run out of my room, what were you doing there?”
“Oh, my King! I wasn’t coming out of your room. I believe stress has gotten the best of you.”
Alexander grew impatient, drew his sword and held it to Bagoas’ throat, “do not play me for a fool Bagoas. What were you doing in my rooms?”
Bagoas’ eyes widened, “Nothing my King, nothing!”
“Tell me now or I will slit your pathetic lying throat,” Alexander yelled.
“Alright, my King, please lower your sword.”
“You are in no position to make requests.”
“I was talking to Hephaistion.”
“Talking to Hephaistion about what?”
“Oh, about little things, you know.”
“No, I don’t know and I don’t like being lied to!”
“My King, I assure you that you are not being lied to. I give you my word.”
“Alright Bagoas,” Alexander lowered his sword, “Give me your hand Bagoas.”
“My hand? Like this?” Bagoas held out his hand.
“Yes, like that,” Alexander then took his sword and quickly sliced off Bagoas’ pinky and ring finger.
Bagoas was so mortified he didn’t make a sound.
“Now tell me what is going on or else I’ll slice your hand off.”
Bagoas began to sob, “ I was only trying to help!”
“Trying to help?”
“I only wanted to help him.”
“Bagoas, stop your crying. You are not making any sense.”
Bagoas looked out a nearby window, “Oh no, its dusk.”
“What happens at dusk?”
“I will show you.”
Hephaistion was sitting on a bench in the garden waiting for Bagoas to show up. He was getting a little worried, dusk was far over and it was beginning to become night. He heard some footsteps and was thankful Bagoas finally decided to show up. However, he didn’t hear just one person’s footsteps, he heard two.
Hephaistion stood up and quickly tried to find a place to hide, but it was to no avail, the only way out of this garden was the same way he came in and the same way those footsteps were coming.
Alexander threw Bagoas to the ground and looked up to find Hephaistion standing there with a pack, ready to leave him.
“Hephaistion, what are you doing?”
Hephaistion stood there for a minute, contemplating what to say, “I want to go home. Alexander.”
“But you are home, with me, and our son.”
“No, this is not home, not with your mother and her spells and potions, not with you, not with Teodor.”
“How can you say that? I love you, Teodor needs you, and my mother likes you.”
“Its all been a lie Alexander. Everything. This is not my home. It is a prison.”
“You will not leave me. I will not allow it.”
“You cannot keep me here.”
“You are all I have, I need you Hephaistion.”
“I will not stay here.”
“You have to. Guards!”
In an instant twenty guards surrounded Hephaistion.
DUN DUN DUN! It seems our little Hephaistion will never escape the grasp of Alexander! and poor little Bagoas got two fingers chopped off. awwww. TBC!
