~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Three days had passed since the incident at the diner and Zoe hadn't heard a thing from Will, not that she had noticed. She had been far too afraid to even close her eyes after her near-fatal nightmare three nights ago to notice much of anything, and now, unfortunately, she was feeling the effects of her self-inflicted insomnia. As she lay there on the sofa, staring blankly at the ceiling, she could feel herself beginning to slip into exhaustion once more. Her eyelids drooped heavily, vision blurring and focusing as she tried to fight off the inevitable.
She finally tore her gaze from the ceiling, blinking hard and dragging herself to her feet. She rubbed her bleary eyes and staggered into the bathroom, pulling open the medicine cabinet and grabbing a bottle of No-Doz. She unscrewed the cap and dumped the last dozen pills into her open palm, ignoring the warning label. She was too desperate to worry about something as simple as overdosing as she lifted her trembling hand to her mouth.
But, there was a sudden loud thump from somewhere above her head that jolted her last good nerve as she gave a startled shriek and leapt back against the wall, dropping the bottle and all twelve white pills.
"Shit!" she hissed as they skittered across the floor. She dropped to her knees, trying desperately to gather them back up, but as she reached out for the first white caplet, it rippled and darkened, growing hundreds of tiny silver legs before skittering away under the door. Zoe gaped in horror at where it had vanished, watching numbly as the others transformed and scattered as well.
She climbed slowly to her feet, shaking her head in denial. She couldn't be dreaming, there was no way she could have possibly fallen asleep. She couldn't believe it, she wouldn't! But as she returned to the living-room, she couldn't deny it any longer. She'd slipped up. Three days without sleep and she had finally slipped up.
"No. No, no, no, no..." She sobbed as she stared into the steel deathtrap lying just beyond her leather sofa. Terror consumed her every fiber, but she could feel something pulling her, urging her forward as she stepped slowly into his demented nightmare world.
She coughed sharply as she entered; the air here was thick and heavy with the sweltering heat, something she had not noticed so strongly during previous visits. It was such a sharp contrast to the comfortable chill of her air-conditioned apartment that it was like a slap in the face as she crossed into it. She had to stop and take a moment to adjust before continuing onward.
As she took a cautious step forward, something long and furry skittered across her foot, causing her to yelp and stumble backwards, only to trip over a loose pipe and tumble into a long row of lockers--something that hadn't been there a moment ago. She spun around at this sudden realization and pounded desperately on the treacherous steel that had trapped her here, screeching at the top of her lungs. But, a soft click of metal caused her breath to hitch and her pounding to cease as she turned to see a familiar figure emerge slowly from the shadows. She pressed back against the lockers as he stepped toward her, spreading his arms wide as if expecting a hug and leering at her like some demented cheshire-cat.
"Welcome back, Zoe." He hissed menacingly. "I missed you."
"Freddy..." Zoe begged and took a cautious step to her left as he stalked closer, "please--"
"You've been avoiding me!" he growled, clicking his blades in aggravation. "Did you forget our little agreement, Princess?"
Zoe stopped her sideways retreat to stare at him in confusion. "W-what do you mean? What agreement?"
Freddy chuckled softly and shook his head in amusement. "I guess I forgot to tell you."
"T-tell me...what?" she stuttered as Freddy continued his slow pursuit. He licked his lips teasingly, but refused to answer her just yet. His silence was just as unnerving as the smug grin he wore as he quickly closed the distance.
"Stay away from me!" Zoe screeched when she came to the end of the row, and quickly turned to run--but he was suddenly in front of her!
"Leaving so soon, Zoe? I thought we'd have a little fun first." Freddy hissed mockingly. He lunged forward and grabbed her firmly around the waist, pressing her tightly against his body as she squealed in protest. He leaned his head forward, nuzzling her cheek and licking her skin as she recoiled in disgust. "Still as sweet as ever..." he breathed, leaning back.
"Let me go!" Zoe shrieked.
"Now, why would I want to do that?" he cooed teasingly. "I was going to let you live if you were willing, but I think I like it better this way. It's much more satisfying when you're screaming."
-----------------------------
Will paced back and forth across their livingroom as Lori sat on the couch, watching him. "Please, stop pacing, Will. You're making me nervous." she sighed. Will stopped and sat down next to her, holding his head in his hands.
"There's something weird going on with that Zoe girl, I just know it! It's--it's like she knows something about him that we don't." Will said.
"I still can't believe he's back. What are we going to do, Will?"
"I...I don't know...we'll think of something."
-----------------------------
Zoe squirmed in Freddy's grip as he pressed her tighter to himself and turned her so that she was backed against the lockers. He lifted his razor-tipped right hand to her face, trailing the blades gently along her throat, but the gentleness soon vanished as he pressed harder, drawing blood and a hiss of pain.
"Stop it..." she begged softly.
"Do you really want me to stop?" He cooed, his voice taking on a gentle, almost human tone that was very unlike him, as he stroked a steel claw along her cheek.
"Yes..." came her whispered reply.
"You're just a lying little bitch, aren't you?" he continued in that same gentle tone. "Admit it, you want me. You want to be fucked senseless. You want to be tainted with me, but most of all, you want to be...loved...don't you?"
