Part Six
A brother's idea
"Brother let her go!" Paris' voice rang loud as he descended the steps into the gardens.
Hector broke his hold stepping back but still keeping his gaze on
Rheia. She ran her hands over her arms, over the bruises she knew she would have by morning. Paris moved to look at them, back and forth for a moment before speaking again.
"I'll see you to your chamber my lady, " he offered Rheia a hand.
She looked to Paris before nodding but then cut Hector a look. "I thank you Paris, I see the younger son of King Priam knows the proper way to see to a Lady."
Hector stood as if he was stone glaring at her, "Watch your words, " Hector stepped closer to her, his voice dropping low. "A Lady would never speak to a prince of Troy so freely, she would have fear, the fear of her title being taken away."
"Come now" Paris hastily pulled Rheia hand, pulling her out of the gardens.
Not long after Paris returned to his brother's side, Hector looked over at him but said nothing.
"I never thought I would see you as I came upon you tonight." Paris told him.
"You know nothing of this Paris, keep out of it." Hector growled, turning to face his brother.
"You've no right to speak to her like you do or to put..."
Hector stopped him, "Aww wait a moment dear brother before you speak further." His hand went up, "I'll say this only once. You are to stay away from Lady Rheia. She'll not be a prize for you."
Paris was shocked, "Is that was this is all about, the proud Hector marking what is his?" The younger price couldn't help but chuckle. "Now who is looking upon her as a prize?"
"Tis no joke Paris, she is not yours!" He roared with anger, grabbing his brother, pulling him closer so their faces were only inches away.
"Aye, but she is also NOT yours brother and I dare say that bothers you." Paris told him with a hint of amusement.
"You don't understand" Hector blew off his words, pushing Paris away from him and walking deeper into the gardens.
"No" Pastopstopped his brother yanking his arm so he faced him; "Rheia is the only person who has gotten any type of reaction from you. I see it in your eyes, you'd keep her by force I'd say."
"That is your silly mind playing at things" Hector hissed, "She is out of line in speaking to me on the matter on my son, that is all."
"Then you'll not mind if I take her as my mistress?" Paris boldly stated.
The heat from Hector's eyes blazed in the night skin, Paris could read the look so clearly. What happened next was much out of character for Hector, he roared while taking Paris and pinning him against a tree nearest to them. "You'll not take anything from her, you are no other man!" His voice drenched with a fierce scent of danger. Indeed the Lady Rheia provoked mighty Hector. Paris watched as the fury died in his brother's eyes as he let him go. Stepping back Hector looked away.
"She has your son's heart now brother and she has your body now. Pray give her your heart if she asks." Paris wanted so much for his brother to be happy again, and if this woman could bring peace to Hector of Troy than he'd have her.
Hector shook his head feverishly before storming off; this night was filled with to many words. He needed rest!
Paris sighed, he was about to push his brother. A thing he'd never done before, Paris was going to give what Hector what he most desperately needed, a living wife.

Paris spoke his peace to his father, and stayed silent as the king pondered his words.
"You are asking me to force my son to marry are you not Paris?" King Priam moved to his feet walking over to his youngest son.
"Yes I am" Paris held a steady gaze locking his dark eyes with his father's blue eyes.
"The future king of Troy needs a partner; do you not share my opinion?"
Priam nodded his head looking over his youngest son, "You are changing my son, does the mighty Hector know of your plan to wed him?"
"NO father he does not, I..."
"Aye" Priam chuckled softly, "Wicked one are you. My son, I shall think over your words. I am not so blind to all around me that I do not see what is happening with your brother."
Paris smiled at his father, "You are the wisest man I know father."

A week passed with Lady Rheia staying far away from the crown prince. She did however see his son, a few stolen moments here and there. Astyanax knew of his father's wishes that he not spend time with Lady Rheia, he was sad, not understanding why his father did not like her.
Rheia cherished the time she spent with her nephew, he was filled with an enormous amount of love and only wanted to share it. She could not, would not, understand how Prince Hector guarded himself, and guarded his heart against his son. He was sheltering himself from the world. Most of all, Hector was sheltering himself from his own son.
A ship from the Greek isle’s sailed for Troy, bringing foreign aids hoping to speak freely to King Priam of peace. The city buzzed with the news, causing all to have a silent hope that peace would comeweenween the two great nations.
The king, pushed by his council, threw a large feast to honor the guests of Troy, Hector along with Paris were set to attend. Paris made sure to tell Lady Rheia that he would be honored if she would attend the celebrations with him. She was uneasy at first, knowing rumors would be started if she did attend with the young prince, but she went against her better judgment, accepting Paris’ offer. This also gave her free reignto show Hector of Troy that his words, his tone, would not chase her away from his family, the family she had grown to love.
