chapter 6
chapter 6
Joey was so tired she slept for the remainder of the day until night. She had to go back to the boardwalk to see if she still had her job and somehow to fix her glasses. She rushed to put some cloths on and pulled. Her head was hurting so bad but she had to go. But first she had to do something about her hair. She slowly and carefully ran a brush threw it and pulled her hair into a bun. She let out a tiny scream, she had hit her gash with the pony tale holder.
It took her half the time to get to the boardwalk even though her head was hurting really bad. When she finally reached the boardwalk she ran straight to the place where she was suppose to work, but the owner said she was fired. So she looked around for a another job but could not find on. She sat down at a bench to fix her glasses, but they were beyond repair. She laid them down and put her sore head into her hands and began to cry. She had blew it.
“Need a hand?” someone whispered in her ear.
Joey turned around slowly. It was David. “Not this time!”
“Then how about a ride?”
“No! I can't. I need to leave this place. I can't stay here.” Joey choked out.
David put out his hand, told her," I can take you away. Away from this."
Joey looked up. David's eyes were glowing...a yellow? She scooted off the bench, blindly," N-n-no. I must go." With that she fled. She is leaving Santa Carla.
David stared after her. He wanted her. She was smart, pretty and a survivor. As he watched her run, the boys came up.
"Tough luck, David," smirked Dwayne.
"Shut up," snarled David," I want her. And you all will help me."
Joey rode the bike to the edge of the town and looked back. She could see the lights to the boardwalk from there. She sighed, then turned her bike north and started to kick it into gear, when the wind began to pick up. She blinked her half blind eyes, then shook her head. Suddenly, she heard whooping and laughter. Joey then felt herself being picked up, twisting around she swore she saw David's eyes, then she blacked out.
