Chapter 6: Meddling
A cannon, shot within reach of the Dutchmen, silenced the cursed captain, as he demanded to know who it was, shooting him.
Jack flashed a smile, “That be the Royal Navy, do entertain yourself with them…I’ll just…go for a walk”
Swiftly, he lowered himself off of the ship, running in the direction Will had gone, then laughing as he realized they left marks in the sand, easily traceable.
Knocking on where Will was hidden he laughed, “Come on mate, this isn’t a good place to be hiding it seems”
As Will got out, they moved further, “Jack? Who will die?”
Jack smiled, “The immortal captain Jack Sparrow…does have a nice ring to it”
Will frowned, “But we can only meet once every 10 years…”
Jack pouted, “We’ll see then, as the moment arrives”
Will nodded, then stopping dead in his tracks. As Jack turned to him in wonder, Jack pointed up ahead, they’d run a full circle around the island, and were in fact, back where they left off.
Jack frowned, but kept walking, then froze in his place as Elizabeth came running to him, slapping him hard, “This is all your fault! Everyone wants you and I’ve had enough!”
Jack sighed, “Lizzie, now is not the time, move”
But she didn’t move a muscle, looking at Will then, she continued, “And you! You’ve been all around too, haven’t you! James is fighting this fish thing to save your ass, and you’re just standing here! He should have killed you when he had the chance!”
Without warning, she drew out a blade and jumped on top of the blacksmith who grabbed her hand, forcing her off him, “Elizabeth! Stop this madness or you will get yourself hurt!”
But she would hear nothing of it, again storming at Will, the dagger now cutting his shirt, only barely missing him.
He’d closed his eyes, thinking that was it…but then he heard a gurgling noise and realized that wasn’t him.
As he opened his eyes, blood pooled at his feet, looking further, he saw Elizabeth grasping her neck, gasping for air as a fish on land, suffocating and choking on her own blood.
He looked to Jack, a look of confusion on his face, “I couldn’t let her hurt you William, I couldn’t”
As Elizabeth’s body lay shocking, before going still, he sighed, “Rest in peace luv” closing her eyes and looking again at his love, “I’m sorry, it was her or you William…and I can’t bare to lose you.”
Will allowed the heart to drop to the ground as he embraced the pirate, “I know… but it still pains me”
Jack nodded, “Aye, me too lad… Now, let’s put an end to this” picking up the heart, he frowned, “Whatever happens William, never forget or doubt my love for you”
Will nods, “And you as well”
Jack watched the battle, with James fighting bravely against men… creatures that he couldn’t kill, half of his men slain. Then, he raised an eyebrow as he noted Barbossa and his crew in there, “Oh…Good…Reunion…That’s great”
Will smiled, taking Jack’s hand as they walked to the ships. As they got on board, everyone seemed to be going for him, and Jack raised the heart of Davy up into the air, “I … don’t … think … so! FREEZE!”
And all the men stood still, breathing heavily, looking positively annoyed. Looking to James, he inclined his head to the beach, “Take your ship and gather her body, return her home”
He smiled, “There’ll be other times”
James resisted the urge to smile, then gave a nod, calling his men and setting off.
Jack looked to Barbossa and his men, “Nice to be seeing you again, but isn’t it quite the time to give up on having me as your toy Hector? Haven’t you had enough? You needn’t stay here to witness what will come to pass, you can simply sail away, stay away…What will it be”
