Unexpected events
I don't own the Predator or Aliens yadayadayada, but I do however own the main carachters in this story exept for Peya-Luna and Shyann ;)
A few days had gone by since Toshia had arrived and she had been trying her best to observe and adapt while awaiting further instructions.
She had received a response to the message she had sent out, and the instructions were clear: "Gather all the information you can, we'll be contacting you again, soon".
Tanun and Odan had brought Toshia to meet the leader of Quatura and his daughters. She had been presented to their people as a "Messenger of the Gods". Toshia thought it was funny, but being that she had to continue faking amnesia, she was in no position to protest this declaration.
Shyann and Peya-Luna quickly bonded with her, which made it a little easier for Toshia to learn about their ways and customs. The language was also sinking in very fast and she was starting to be really comfortable with it. The girls showed Toshia around the large stone city until they eventually ended up at a great pyramid, where she was told 'The Gods' would be coming soon to take the chosen ones for sacrifice; to begin 'The Hunt'.
Toshia thought their beliefs were very cute...
It was around last meal time when it happened...the people of Quatura started gathering around the great pyramid and Toshia found herself being 'invited' to come along, in a 'front row' fashion. Not wishing to anger anyone, she complied with their demands and accepted guidance through the growing crowd. As the horde of Quaturians started quieting down, Toshia's jaw dropped open as her eyes drifted towards the sky.
Flashes of light ripped through the darkening sky while a low rumble echoed across the land. Out of this dark reddish cloud, a gigantic metal craft slowly descended above the pyramid. The hair on Toshia's arms stood up as she came to grips with the reality that was now in front of her.
Without a second thought, Toshia sprinted towards the pyramid as the crowd below her howled in anticipation. Heart pounding, body driven by pure adrenaline, she started running up the stairs as fast as her legs would allow it.
In a matter of minutes, she disappeared into an opening in the front of the pyramid and the crowd became silent again. Toshia kept running until she found another opening and darted inside it. She slammed back against the stone wall as she let herself slide into a sitting position on the dusty floor.
Hands shaking, heart pounding and breathing heavily, she activated her communication bracelet and spoke:
"This...this is Nitro...something happened....you're not going to believe this ....a space craft is descending...above my position...awaiting instructions".
She closed the communicator and took a few moments to catch her breath before getting back on her feet. The air was thick and musty around her; a combination of the hot humid weather and the torches that were lighting the room she was in. She closed her eyes and took a long deep breath, hoping to regain what was left of her tortured mind. And then... there was silence.... dead silence... it felt almost as if she had created it out of her own need to relax, but she knew all too well that this was the kind of silence that meant something big , VERY big was happening...
Going against everything her mind was screaming at her, she ever-so-slowly crept out of the room she was in and started going back the way she had come in. Toshia walked towards the light of the main opening; ears straining to hear something, ANYTHING...
The walk towards the edge of the opening seemed to take for ever. When she finally got to the edge to look down she saw what seemed to be all of Quatura on it's knees, bowing down, heads to the ground and arms extended to the front. You could have heard a pin drop ... hell, even the birds and animals were silent.
At the very bottom of the pyramid, only Henday was down on one knee looking up, with a slight look of shock on his face. When Peya-Luna and Shyann started getting up with an equally shocked expression on their faces, gradually followed by the others surrounding them, a shiver ran down Toshia's spine.
A presence, that's all she felt...
"Oh God, it's right behind me isn't it?" she muttered between tightly clenched teeth, before slowly turning around.
She sucked in a deep breath and kept it in as she turned, trapping the sheer terror inside her lungs in doing so. She exhaled in relief at the sight of the nothingness in front of her, but her peace of mind didn't last long...
Toshia's attention was swiftly caught by a trickle of sand pouring down from the outside ledge of stone that formed the top of the doorway. When her eyes met a pair of huge taloned feet they widened..... that was all it took for her to start running like hell.
"Holy shit! Holy shit!!!" Toshia whined between breaths as she ran.

When Henday realized that almost everyone was no longer bowing, he immediately ordered his people to show some respect, fearing that the Gods might be offended.
"What is Toshia doing?" whispered Shyann to Peya-Luna.
"How would I know Shyann?" "even Toshia herself does not remember why the Gods had sent her....surely they will deal with her. Now keep your head down before you anger 'The Gods!" Peya-Luna urged.

"What's with that one?" Lord Go-Jin questioned Ra'jon'te, after watching the little female flee from underneath where he stood.
"I don't know...even the others looked surprised to see her up here".
"We will deal with her later, we have much to prepare before the hunt".
Lord Go'Jin was satisfied, as he gazed below, that the oomans were returning to their gestures of submission. After effortlessly jumping down from the top of the stone doorway, he started walking down the stairs , accompanied by Ra'jon'te and Ti-zook, his second in command. Together, they descended to greet the ooman leader.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the pyramid, Di'tse'te had been admiring the new structure that they had helped the oomans build. The blood in his veins ran hot with anticipation of the hunt to come. It had been established by the Elders many cycles ago, that the hunt was a test of strength to determine one's worth as a warrior, and as a suitable mate for females.
The rules were simple; kill, bring home a trophy and be covered with glory or be killed, and lose everything but the honor of your memory for trying.
In the middle of his daydreaming, Di'tse'te was interrupted by what sounded like an ooman cry, followed by a few small stones falling from above; one of which landed right on his head. With a growl, he looked up in annoyance only to find a small ooman female dangling from a ledge looking down at him.

Toshia had run as fast as she could. She ran blindly, paying absolutely no attention to her surroundings. She had unknowingly stepped on a trigger stone, and before she could make another move, the ground dropped open beneath her, and she found herself sliding down a stone tunnel in a newly formed passage. All she could do was yell on her way down as she saw the light of day again through the opening below. Toshia was barely able to get a grip of the flat stone that formed an edge at the end of the tunnel.
As she struggled to hold on, she looked down to orientate herself. Toshia gasped at the sight of what was definitely the biggest "rasta" in armor she had ever seen. She glanced down a second time, long enough to figure out that this "rasta" was no human. She was too high up to just let herself drop, nor did she want to at this point. She desperately clawed at the surface of the nearly flat stone, trying with all of her might to hoist her body back up to the top. No matter how much she tried, the dust and sand on the surface of the stone would not allow her to get a good grip.
She looked down again to find that the creature was still looking up at her, head slightly moving side to side, in order to get a better view of her no doubt.
"Ya mon! Me bout' to brake me face !" Toshia yelled out, as her grip on the stone got weaker.
Toshia's ordeal lasted about three good minutes before the inevitable happened. Unable to hold on any longer, she fell.
Not knowing what to expect and thinking for sure she was going to die, her life flashed before her. She went limp in the air, her body preparing for the inevitable impact. The way down seemed to last much longer than it actually took and then, the unexpected happed...
Toshia landed right into a pair of inhumanly large arms. Barely able to breath from her emotions, she looked up into the mask of her savior for what seemed like forever, before managing a "thanks" between uneven breaths. Coming back from her daze, she tried to get out of the large arms holding on to her but his grip stayed firm and she was barely able to budge. He looked down, intensely studying her, then brought her up closer to him.
Toshia felt uncomfortably close; he was now most definitely invading her personal bubble but she didn't want to do anything that could offend the one who had just saved her life. She gently brought her hand up and pressed it against the creature's massive chest and let out a shy, "You can put me down now."

Di'tse'te looked down at the small ooman female with fascination. She was particularly muscular for her small size and her smell was a little different from the other ooman females he had been close to on his last visits to their world. Although his brother thoroughly disapproved of his fascination with the females of this species, Di'tse'te had been obsessed by them ever since his first encounter with the ooman leader's daughter. Their smell, their size and even their soft round mouths filled him with wonder.
When the female first spoke to him, Di'tse'te was surprised to find that his mask was unable to find a match for the word she had used.At first he thought it was a glitch in the system, but when she put her hand on him and spoke again, the same thing happened. He wondered if she was from another tribe, one that might have been from a different region of the planet all together..."That would explain the different smell", he thought. He had studied all the females in the Ooman leader's tribe and he was certain he had never seen this one before.
When the ooman female started struggling in his arms, he released her legs so that she could stand, holding on to her torso until her feet were on the ground.

When the large humanoid finally put Toshia down, she slowly backed away. She paused for a moment before turning away from him and running off arround the base of the pyramid.
"Jesus Christ, what the hell did I get myself into" She thought.
