Chapter 6
Hmmm….Reviews are welcomed!
6-Girl Fight
Downing half a bottle of Jack on a three-day empty stomach was not one of Dominique’s brightest ideas. As she flushed the handle again for the millionth time, she cursed the state of Tennessee and all liquor made there. Slowly, Dominique dragged herself to the sink and using it as support, splashed cold water on her face.
“You’re a real classy broad,” a voice said to her. Dominique slowly turned her head and felt her eyes get huge. Sitting on the toilet was her…or it at least looked like her. Whoever, or whatever it was, sat on the toilet, ankles crossed, and wearing a nurse’s costume and shoes. Everything looked the same, except for the black lipstick and the small grouping of black diamonds tattooed around her temples. “I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone throw up like that before.”
“Diamond?”
“In the flesh. Well, sorta. Actually, I just thought I’d come out and say hi.” Diamond sheepishly waved one hand. “Hi.”
“What the hell are you wearing?” Dominique asked. Then she grabbed her head. “Ohmy God, I’m having a Donny Darko moment.”
“It’s from my new fall line. And never put me in the same category as that walking piece of road kill rabbit.” Her face suddenly turned serious. “You alright?”
Dominique sighed and turned the faucet off. “You’re me. Shouldn’t you know by now?” she didn’t mean it to come out mean, but it did. Diamond stood up, but just turned to face the mirror.
“I think that motherfucker needs to pay for everything he ever did to you. When I saw that, I wanted to throw up.” Diamond turned her head to look at Dom. “And considering the position we’re in, the clown is the only chance we got to getting close to anyone, and finding out what really happened.”
“The Joker?” Dominique answered back shrilly. “Are you crazy?”
“Yes, you are. You have to be resourceful, kiddo, and use all the tools you got. And I see a perfectly good tool to use.” A sick smiled came across Diamond’s face, and she giggled in her throat.
“You’re perverted,” Dominique rolled her eyes.
“Think the curtain matches the drapes?”
“Oh, just go back into my head!”
“Why are you talking to yourself?” Harley’s voice caught her attention. Before Dominique could answer, Harley shot “Never mind, just come with me.”
For the second time that day, Dominique was staring back at the Joker. The empty bottle of Jack was still on the table. Dom had thrown the glass at the wall when the liquor had kicked in, and just poured the bottle down her throat.
“Get that out of your system?” Joker grinned. Dom suddenly found strength to flick him off. He cackled. Joker stood up and walked to the front of his desk, leaning on it. “You want revenge?” Dom noticed his paint was wearing off and she could see a good portion of skin. His scars were almost exposed, and she fought back the want of feeling them. All and all, he wasn’t that bad looking, with or without the paint.
“Yeah, I do.” The smile Joker gave reminded Dominique of a greedy child at Christmas: he had gotten what he wanted.
“Well, uh, before you join our little ‘family’, you’re gonna have to prove yourself.”
I don’t like the sound of that, Dominique heard herself think clearly.
Suck it up, darlin’. This is our ticket in.
“What do I have to do?” Dominique tried to keep fear out of her voice, but it was no good. Before Joker could answer, someone knocked on the door, causing them both to jump. One of the goons walked in, clutching a Burger King bag. He walked over to Dom and dropped it in her lap.
“I was feeling generous.” Joker said. “Just don’t get use to it.” he walked over to his guy and grunted something to him before slamming the door. Dominique stuck her tongue out, and heard the guard laugh slightly.
“Thanks…” she received nothing back. “Well, whoever you are…from the bottom of my little starving heart, thank you.” She gave him a cheesy smile for an effect and started inhaling the bag contents. Dominique burped loudly, and then cleared her throat. “Excuse me.”
Noticing she was done, the guy motioned to follow him. They walked back into the room where Dom was first brought too. The other guys where sitting around, loading equipment into bags and checking out their guns. The rest of them were standing where the Joker was, and he was going over something. Harley was draped around his shoulder, and Joker kept moving them to keep her off. Dom laughed to herself. The little sunlight that was seeping through the painted over windows showed how green his hair really was.
Her escort cleared his throat, and Joker looked up. He saw Dominique behind Bob, and licked his lips.
“There she is boys…she wants to join our little club.” Joker laughed as he exaggerated his words. Some of the guys where taken back, and no muttered something about another Harley under his breath. “Well, tonight’s her little test run.”
Dom walked up to the table and leaned over to look at him. “And you never answered my question. What do I have to do?” she felt Harley’s eyes burning deep into her skull. It could’ve been the leftover liquor in her system, or the fact she had finally eaten something and had energy. Dom looked up at her and snarled, “You gotta problem?”
“Yeah, I do. Puddin’, she was talking to herself in the bathroom. She even answered herself! She’s a total nutcase!” Harley sounded like a little brat, and Dom wanted to smack the shit out of her.
Well, cat’s outta the bag.
“It’s not nice to tell on people, Harley,” Joker drawled out. Amusement did go over his face, though.
Dom’s eyes slanted and a sarcastic smirk came over her lips. “Yeah, Harley. Now why don’t you find some drag queen to get make up tips from? Puddin’s busy.”
Joker raised his eyebrow in amusement. The guy’s jaws were on the ground, and Harley looked like a rabid dog. She unhooked herself from around Joker’s shoulders and walked toward Dominique.
“What did you just say?” all the squeakiness had left her voice. Harley sounded like a predator, but it was really hard to take her seriously.
“I said; go find some drag queen to get makeup tips from. Puddin’s busy.” Dom emphasized on her nickname for Joker.
SLAP! A stinging sensation went across Dom’s right cheek. Her head had actually jerked off to the side. Dominique laughed softly, and then turned to look at Harley. She touched her face softly, her laughter getting louder. Dom covered her face up, giggling like crazy. “Hey.”
“What?” Harley thought she was talking to her, but the person Dom was really talking too didn’t exist…yet.
Oh please tell me what I wanna hear.
“Come out and play!” she laughed. Harley slowly backed away from her. Something in her mind changed. One of Dom’s hands lashed out and caught Harley’s arm. Slowly, her face went up and Harley began to panic. Somehow, her face had changed into someone else’s.
“Don’t you know you should never hit a crazy person?” Diamond had officially taken over. She yanked Harley down hard and cracked Harley’s nose on her knee. Diamond threw Harley to her knees, and then kicked her down on her ass. “C’mon clown girl; I’ve wanted to do this since I met you.”
Harley got on all fours and touched her nose. It was gushing blood down her pretty face. “You bitch!” she tackled Dom around the knees and managed to start choking her. The guys looked at Joker, wondering if they should stop. Instead, he leaned back in his chair and was enjoying the sight.
Harley was a weak fighter. She hardly even had a grip. Diamond punched her in the face and watched Harley fall to the side. Harley tried to crawl away, but Diamond wasn’t done yet. She reached under the shirt and pulled out the metal ball Patriot necklace Dominique had put on. Diamond caught Harley and pulled the necklace around the other girl’s neck tightly. “If you’re gonna choke someone, do it right!” Diamond growled, craning Harley’s neck back. The clown girl began to kick, but passed out. She fell with a thud on the ground, eyes closed. No one moved to help her.
Diamond walked away from Harley, breathing hard, necklace in hand. “That was fun,” she smiled. A slow clapping sound filled the quiet room. She turned to see the Joker standing up and applauding. “That was…amazing.” He said. Diamond smirked and slinky walked behind the desk. She suddenly grabbed the Joker’s jacket and pulled him roughly to her.
“You haven’t seen anything yet,” she said hoarsely, then roughly kissed him, and closed her eyes. Joker kissed back, grabbing her shoulders with his hands, pinning her close to his body He could feel her smiling on her face. Slowly, Dominique was coming back and suddenly felt something in her mouth. She opened her eyes and gave a small sound and tried to break the hold. Joker busted out into a hyena laugh. “I like you,” he chuckled. Marty!” one of the guys with was looking over Harley’s body looked up.
“Get our little recruit some clothes for tonight.” Joker clicked his tongue. “Now,” he turned his attention to Dom. “Do you taste as good everywhere else?”
Adrenaline hit and Dom managed to break the hold and slam her elbow into the Joker’s face. He stepped back, holding his face, but still laughing. “Got a little fight in ya. I like that. By the way…” he made the motion that something was on her face. He laughed loudly when she flicked him off again and stomped off.
