thanks to the people that reviewd! sorry again it took so long to update, forgive meeeeeeee =(

Hephaistion blinked his eyes. Everything seemed to move in slow motion to him. He sighed in defeat. He saw Alexander’s face slowly turn red with anger and hurt; he saw the slow footsteps of the guard and the dirt flying about their feet. He saw Bagoas weeping hysterically on the floor.

He blinked his eyes again for what seemed an eternity and when he opened them the guards already had him subdued. He didn’t bother to run, he didn’t bother to try to escape, it was over.

The guards brought Hephaistion to Alexander, “Where do we put him sir?”

Alexander was still red with anger and didn’t bother to look at Hephaistion, “The room on the third floor.”

“Yes my King.”

“And I want a guard posted at the door at all times.”

“Yes my King.”

“No one is allowed in but myself and my mother.”

The guard nodded in agreement.

The whole time while the head guard and Alexander were speaking Hephaistion just focused his attention on Alexander. This is the first time in a long time that he just gazed at the man he used to love.

Hephaistion whispered, “I’m sorry Alexander,” as he was taken away to his room.

Hephaistion didn’t speak to the guards as they brought him to his room and they didn’t speak to him either. They just left him in the room, alone, still bound.

The room was dark and gray. The only furniture in the room was one large bed. On the wall he noticed that there were chains and on the ceiling there were chains as well. This room was nothing in comparison to the rich rooms he was used to.

It seemed he was doom to this room forever.

The door opened quickly and Alexander came through the door and closed it behind him. He found Hephaistion sitting on the bed.

“Is this what you want,” Alexander questioned angrily, “to be locked up in some old dirty room for the rest of your life?”

“No…”

“Then why do you run from me?”

“I wanted to be free from potions, spells and lies.”

“What?”

“I am tired of the lies Alexander.”

“Hephaistion….”

“Remember what it was like before all of this? Before your mother came?”

Alexander was silent.

“We were in love, we had each other. But now there are just lies. Your mother lies to me, you lie to me, and Teodor is a lie. He was made under a lie.”

Hephaistion looked to the stunned Alexander, “he isn’t himself anymore Alexander. He is lost to me.”

“Hephaistion, you are not well,” he said robotically.

“Alexander, please, let me go.”
“I cannot let you go. I need you Hephaistion, do you not understand?”

“Keeping me locked up makes everything better? Alexander!”

“Hephaistion, Teodor needs you. I need you, we are a family my love. A family that needs to stay together.”

“I don’t have a choice, do I?”

Alexander placed one of the chains that hanged on the wall on one of Hephaistion’s ankles. He then went to the door and left it wide open.

“There is your freedom Hephaistion. Enjoy it.”

Olympias was in her room taking care of Teodor. She had her snakes all out on her bed and watched in delight as Teodor played with them with no fear.

“Mother,” Alexander yelled furiously. Yes, it had something to do with Hephaistion.

“Yes my son?”

“Hephaistion! He knows!”

“What?”

“Daddy!”

“Not now Teodor,” he replied quickly to his son, “mother, he tried to escape.”

“He did?”

“Yes! What should I do mother? What should I do?”

“Where is he?”

“I have him locked up on the third floor.”

Olympias was quite.

“What about that memory swiping potion that you were talking to me about mother?”
“I don’t have it anymore.”

“Why not?”

“It was ripped out of my spells book Alexander.”

“Well can’t you get another spell book mother?”

“I am getting another one, it just takes time Alexander.”

“What should I do till you get it?”

“Well, Alexander, he is about to enter his cycle soon, is he not?”

“Yes.”

“Take advantage of it. Fill him with your child before you set off to this new war of yours.”

“You really think I should?”

“It will be something to occupy himself while he is in that room until you return.”

“I should leave him in there for that long?”

“Yes. Do not worry, I’ll take care of him,” she said with a smile.
