A Predator Halloween

Chapter 7

She didn’t want to leave. She wanted to rest just a bit longer. Maybe incise him to touch her again. She liked that. But it was getting late, and she’d promised to attend Carter’s party. Guess carnal pleasures could have to wait.

It took her till nearly 8:30 pm to get her legs to move her around without staggering. He trilled at her, a new sound, one she could only equate to laughter. She huffed at him, and continued to walk around the room. She loved the feel of the gold material against her skin, and as her legs became more and more steady, she stepped in front of her mirror to admire herself. As she turned she realized, just HOW exposed her nether region really was. There was NO WAY IN HELL she was showing up at the party with a slit that showed everything. She didn’t care if he was watching over her or not. She rummaged through her remaining boxes, and found her bathing suit that her mother had bought her the previous summer. It was a bikini, and for her at the time, it was a bit TOO tini. They still had the tags and everything on them from the store. She pulled the bottoms free and removed the tags. She quickly slipped them on, ignoring his disappointed growl from across the room.

“Too bad,” she said, snapping the high set waist band in place. Once dawned, she looked in the mirror. You couldn’t see it from the out side, but when she moved, she was sufficiently covered. She heard the footsteps, as they stomped on the crumpled paper from another box that had been sought through and abandoned. She quickly moved the skirt away from her, showing him the curve of her backside, and how the brozish material of the bikini matched the dress. She felt him try to remove them, so she grabbed his hand and guided him as she made it slide over the material.

He liked the feel of it, perhaps letting her wear the garment, just this once, wasn’t so bad. He slid his hand beneath the bands, and clicked his approval, as the garment allowed him to move freely beneath it. He withdrew his hand as he heard knocking on the door to her room. “Yes,” she called, dropping the skirt quickly.

“Tya, are you still going to Carter’s party?” asked Alex from the other side.

She was surprised the girl didn’t barge in like usual. She’d neglected to put the dead bolt across the door. “Yes, I’m just getting ready.”

“Ok, when you go, let mom know. She’s downstairs.”

“When did you get home?”

“An hour ago, why?”

“I never heard you come in, that’s all.”

“Thought you were asleep. Mom heard movement, figured you’re awake.”

“Ok.” Tya opened the door, and her sister just stared at her in the gold dress, eyes as big as tea cup saucers. “What?”

“Who the hell you expecting to fuck tonight?” the girl asked, watching her leg show through the slit as she walked down the hall.

“That’s $10 to the swear jar missy. And don’t say you don’t have it, I know you do.”

“Shit.”

“That’s $15.” The girl opened her mouth again. “Care to go to $20?” Alex closed her mouth and went to her room. She hated the swear jar. But her mom didn’t want the kids to swear, and it was a good deterrent, parting a kid from their allowance. Five Dollars a word. So far they’d been able to buy a new game system for the family room. And that was just with the move to the new house. If things kept up, they’d be able to make a trip to Disney land like Alex wanted to.

Tya leaned over the rail to the stairs. “MOM! Do you still have those silk gold shoes from Ed’s wedding?”

“Yeah, why?”

“Can I borrow them? They’ll go great with my costume.”

“If they fit, sure. They’re in the closet in my room.”

“Thanks.” Alex immerged from her room, carrying the money in one hand, and stuffed it into the jar on her mother’s dresser. Tya opened the closet doors, and stepped inside. “Mom, you’ve got so many shoes, I swear you can open your own shoe store.”

“Mom keeps her special shoes up high.”

“How do you know, Alex?”

“Cause I would. Keeps me from wearing them everyday. And it keeps them clean. You should try it.”

“Get outa here squirt. You’re buds are waiting out side to go door to door.”

“Ok, but I’m telling you, they’re up high.”

After a few minutes of vein searching, Tya relented and looked on the upper shelf. There in a box, were the gold shoes. She rolled her eyes. Alex was never a shoe person, she wasn’t even a dress person, how would she know how to take care of things like that? She shook her head. ‘Figure it out later,’ she thought, and tried on the shoes. They fit, almost. Just a little too long. But when the toes come to a point, what could you expect.

She stood up, and at once balanced herself. She’d never worn more than a one inch heel, and here she was teetering on a pair of three inch stilettos. Made her wish she was shorter than her usual 5’9 stature already. She could almost see her mom and dad now. She better get to the party. She heard the clicking as she neared the door. She produced her foot, turning it slightly. “You like?” she whispered. She could hear him huff. “To each their own,” she said, and started down the stairs. “I’m off to Carter’s mom.”

“Ok. How do you look?”

“Good. Thanks.”

“Wait, I want to see.”

‘Oh no.’ “Can’t mom, Daniel’s coming.” She felt the invisible man brush by her as she hurriedly closed the door. She then walked quickly down the walk. Daniel was no where in sight. She figured if her mom thought that she was being escorted, she’d let her be. She was right.

The door to Carters was ajar, with a note on saying ‘Party guests enter at own risk, Trick-or-treaters, see the corps to the right.’ Tya looked to her right, to see a man smiling from beneath a dead man’s mask he’d pulled up over his forehead. She didn’t recognize him. “Hi,” she greeted.

“You look great,” the man said. “Sure you’re coming to the right party?”

“Yeah.”

“Save me a dance?”

“Maybe,” she laughed, pushing the door.

“The name’s O’Niel. I’ll find you.”

“Can’t miss me.” And she stepped inside.

“That’s for damn sure.” He heard a growl from the other side of the veranda. He tossed a Tootsey role in the direction. “Get lost mutt.”

Tya thread her way through the crowd, seeing Carter inside in a Holland Milk Maid’s costume. It was big and flouncy, and made her look twice the size of her tiny frame. Now she wished she could trade costumes. Carter looked up, as someone in the crowd whistled, as though hailing a cab. She smiled when she saw Tya coming forward, but stared in shock as she saw her dress and shoes. “WOW,” she said, “Now I know I’m over dressed.”

“Don’t get use to it, it’s the king sized top sheet that’s going back on my bed tonight.”

“Wow,” said Kevin, as he put down a bowl of popcorn. “You look fantastic.”

“Thanks.”

“Hey, do you know anything about CD Players? Daniel is having trouble. And Carter can’t find the manual.”

“Don’t you know how to…” she asked of Carter, but the woman shook her head.

“I bought it, but I don’t usually host parties, so I’m not sure what to do.”

“I’ll figure it out. Which way?”

“Around the sofa, to the end of the room.”

“Great. Do you have any diet Cola?”

“Yeah, somewhere here.”

“We’ll bring you one.” Carter offered, as she caught a chip bag as it threatened to fall.

“Thanks.” And Tya moved off.

“Wow. Why can’t I have neighbours like that?” Carter gently punched him in the arm.

“Did you have to set up Daniel like that?”

“What? He likes her, been asking where she is all night.”

Tya tapped the man on the shoulder, as he pondered over the buttons. The straw hat turned, and the eye level came right in contact with her hips, right where the slit began down her leg. The man slowly looked down, then slowly looked up, his breath catching in the back of his throat. “Oh…wow…,” he said, as he stood up, straightening his hat as it got caught on the cabinet as he rose. “I thought gypsies wore more bright colors.”

“This one’s a dream,” she laughed, tapping his arm for him to move, so she could see what he was doing.

“You can say that again.” He put the CD cases down, and tried not to look directly down, for his gaze would surely move to the vast open space down her front, right along her breast line. “Is it getting warm in here?” he asked, then jumped as the music started blasting out the speakers. She stood up and brushed her hands off. “How’d you do that?”

“Easy. I pushed the input button till it read CD.”

Daniel nodded. “Here you go Tya.” Kevin handed her the drink. She reached out with both hands, to be sure the tall glass didn’t fall. Knowing her, she’d probably break two or three tonight alone.

Daniel noticed her tattoo. It looked like an upside down crescent moon, with a dash, just between the two moon points. “That’s very interesting,” he said, pointing to it. “Where did you get it?”

“Got it years ago. I liked it.” She got a bit jostled as people began to dance, and decided to slip away, so she could have her drink in peace. She found the patio doors, and stepped outside. She noticed in the light cast from the house, the various piles of dirt, and stacks of bricks on the ground, one level below her. Daniel stepped outside and joined her, letting his scarecrow’s hat fall to the back by its string. “Sorry,” she said, turning to him. “I got a little claustrophobic.”

“No problem. Sorry, I didn’t mean to be so nosy about your tattoo.”

“Its ok, people ask, I answer. Gets a little old.”

“I can understand.”

“I see she’s doing some landscaping.”

“Yeah, Kevin is giving her a hand. They got a little backed up cause of work and all, but its going to look really nice.”

“Coy pond,” Kevin said from the door. “We’re putting in a coy pond.”

“Cool. I love goldfish,” Tya chimed musically.

“No, no. Not goldfish, Coy. Totally different fish.”

“Oh. Sorry.”

Then Carter called from inside, and Kevin disappeared in the swelling sea of people.. “He’s really particular about the fish,” Daniel said, sipping his drink.

“I can tell. Don’t tell him the poor things will freeze in the winter, he’ll freak.”

“Oh, he’s got that all figured out.”

They laughed as a man dressed as Franklinite’s monster made his rounds, mimicking the way the monster would move in the movies. And the night went on, with dozens of other monster costumes making their appearance. Tya wondered where her friend was.

She had left the house so quickly, he barely had time to get out with her. He wasn’t going to let her mingle without his escort. Not in the outfit he’d made JUST for her. Though when he noticed how the male at the front of the dwelling she went to, looked at her, he found it hardly possible that they wanted to impress anyone. He was dressed in an ugly outfit, not good for fighting, not good for courting either. He was hideous by human standards. But he noticed how the male’s body heat began to rise as he watched her enter the building. He growled at him in warning, then climbed to the top of the house. He could get around much easier that way. And if need be, he’d just punch a hole through the roof to get to her. No one would touch her, no one would take her. NO ONE HAD THE RIGHT!

As he approached the back side of the dwelling, following her heat signature inside, he came across one of the young bloods, also perched on the roof. He clicked in greeting, and joined the young one near his post. “What have you observed?” he asked, knowing he wasn’t here for the other female.

“The female that dwells here, had the Goa’uld guard show himself here. I have been following him these last three days.”

“Why is he here?”

“I do not know, but just today, he was escorting two other males around. When I scanned them, I discovered they are Goa’uld.”

D’Gon’s chest went tight. “Very good. Where are they now?” he asked, tracking where Tya was standing, and then scanning the room.

“The three have retreated to the lower level. There is a larger group down there, but I have not had the opportunity to scan them. Your female is obviously on the premises.”

“Yes. I will watch her, closely.” The young male grunted, he knew why, he could smell her on him, even as faint as it was, but he knew. “Watch your thoughts!”

“Apologies, D’Gon. Also Elder Raz’Bett is wondering when you will be returning?”

“Soon. I almost have her.”

“Almost…?” and he sniffed the air again. “I’d say she’s yours. You should take her tonight. Elder wishes to leave as soon as we have returned. He wants to inform the Askard of what I have reported. He fears the updated communications system of the oomans would interfere with the transmission, or something to that effect. Either way, he wishes to be off the planet in one ooman day.”

“Then we will leave tonight. I’ll take her after all have gone to sleep.”

“Perhaps…”

“Hush, there are oomans below.” He watched as his female immerged from the dwelling, and stood on the small deck below him. She looked exquisite in the garment. The young hunter moved forward to get a batter look, but a warning gesture from D’Gon made him move back. Another male immerged and stood near her. They were talking, but he could not make out what was said. Ooman words were still difficult for him. He could hear a third male, and through his vision, he could see him standing in the doorway to the dwelling, though he did not stay long. The first male remained, and spoke with the female. Then more oomans in their strange clothes came out, moving rather strangely about, then going back inside.

They watched the group inside and out for quite some time, before the younger hunter tapped D’Gon’s arm, and pointed down into the dwelling. The Goa’uld had come to the level, and the guard was with them. D’Gon tightened his fists. They were moving to the back of the building, towards the deck.

“Daniel, there you are,” said a man as he stepped out of the house, followed by another man in the same tan farmer’s costume, and a dark skinned man dressed in a gold shirt and pants, with a gold disk stuck to the middle of his forehead. She recognized the jinni outfit, and found it rather fitting for his muscular build, though she agreed that a turban, common to the lore of the jinni, wouldn’t suit him, and the disk a nice touch.

“Hey, Jacob, you made it.” Daniel shook the man’s hand. “Ah, Jacob, this is Tya, she’s a neighbour of Sam’s. Tya, this is Jacob Carter, Sam’s father.”

“Pleased to meet you.” She shook his hand, and they all jostled for position as more people flooded to the deck, complaining of the warmth inside the house. The small group moved to the corner of the deck, as more people filed out, and then down the stairs to the back yard. Someone hollered for candles, and flashlights, then someone found the outside light switch and turned it on.

“Looks like the party is getting started,” Jacob noticed, as the group of costumed idiots began to jostle around the lawn. Some even started to move the bricks to make seating areas, wile others covered the piles of dirt with tarps, and moved the tools and small equipment out of the way. “I didn’t know Sam was working on the yard.”

“Coy pond,” Tya offered. “Kevin insists.” She looked up to the roof as she heard some scraping. Then back to the guests before her.

“Also Tya, this is Teal’c, he’s from…”

“A far land,” the man offered with his deep baritone voice.

“Yeah, and this is…I’ve no idea who you are,” Daniel laughed as the third man stepped up.

“This is To’ma, Daniel. He’s new.”

“I’ll say. Welcome.”

“Thank you,” said the young man, shaking hands with the pair. Teal’c raised an eyebrow as he saw the mark on the woman’s left arm. “It’s my first time visiting…”

“Colorado Springs,” Jacob interjected. He couldn’t let it slip they visited other planets. There were too many civilians around. “He keeps getting us confused with the Grand Canyon.”

“Its not too far from here, I’m not surprised,” Tya offered. “Have you been there yet?”

“Not as yet, but it is on my list. My first stop is Seven Falls.” Tya’s heart jumped, and she coughed as she took her glass from her lips, slightly stumbling on the awkward heeled shoes. As she tried to steady herself, her glass went to the floor.

“Crap,” she coughed, accepting Daniel’s help to balance out on the shoes. “I’m not use to these heels.”

“Careful, you’ll step on Teal’c,” Daniel noticed, as the big man went after the glass.
“Step on him, I think she’ll shish-cabob him in those things,” Jacob said with a chuckle, as he too stood up with the base of the glass she’d dropped in his hand. “Teal’c leave it, we can sweep it up later.”

“I’ll get you another drink,” Daniel offered, and ducked into the house.

“You ok?” Jacob offered, as Teal’c and the other man placed the broken glass in a container near the steps. The rest of the party guests had all moved off the deck to the lawn, leaving the three men alone with Tya.

“Yeah, I’m fine. I just have to get out of these shoes.” She lifted one foot to rub her calve muscles. She definitely wasn’t borrowing her mother’s shoes again.

“I wouldn’t suggest that. There may still be slivers,” Jacob warned gently.

“Your tattoo is quite interesting,” To’ma stated, noticing the dark mark on her arm, as she balanced to Jacob’s offered arm.

“Indeed it is. May I ask where you obtained such a mark?” Teal’c asked, as the three of them moved closer.

She didn’t get the chance to respond. All she heard was a deafening roar from above, a sudden jolt to the floorboards, as something hard landed on the deck, and a loud crack from below, booming through the yard. “What the hell!” Jacob asked aloud, echoing the concern showed on the faces of his colleges.

The guard and the two Goa’uld were followed out by an influx of people escaping the dwelling. Some carried bowls of food, and all carried drinks. Many stayed on the deck with the Goa’uld and his female. They wouldn’t try anything that would draw attention, D’Gon knew this, but the young male with him was getting very anxious. D’Gon placed his hand on his shoulder to calm him, gesturing for him to calm his heart, that the battle would not yet come, if at all. The young one nodded, and turned their attention abruptly back to the group, as the sound of shattering glass hit their ears.

Lights had gone one around the yard area, and he could see his female a bit better, to his normal sight. The guard and a Goa’uld were at her feet, gathering the broken shards, and the ooman male had left. The one Goa’uld and the guard retreated from her, tossing the discarded pieces to a bin at the end of the deck, then returned to her. A few words were exchanged, and then they started to move in. His female’s heart had suddenly jumped in rhythm, even more so than when she tried to balance herself. They were moving in. ON HIS FEMALE! He gave the signal. The pair roared and jumped down on the deck, surprising all that were there. Then something went terribly wrong.

The deck had started to crack, worse yet, when he looked, the support beams holding up the end of the deck, had snapped from their weight coming down hard from the roof. The beams had tilted off their posts at their braking point. The deck was coming down. The Goa’uld grabbed hold of the rail, as the guard took hold of the rail, with the female in his arms. She tried to struggle, as the deck moved away from the structure. Someone shouted to the people below, and they all started to run to the back of the yard, as the deck came down.

“Teal’c, grab Tya! We’ll jump when we near the ground!”

“Hold on to me!” Teal’c said, putting a strong arm around her.

She had to get away, if her friend thought these men were trying to hurt her, she knew he’d kill them. She tried to struggle, but Teal’c held fast.

“DAD!!!”

“Stay back Sam. You can’t help us!” The deck was already three feet from the house, pushing over a small tree off its corner as it went over. “CALL 911! PEOPLE MOVE!!!” The deck started to move faster, as the people below began to run.

Suddenly Teal’c was ripped away from the girl, and a stronger arm went around her. The deck went over fast, and the group tumbled to the ground. Things were about to get real ugly. She could tell.
