Not Knowing No

Serenity looked out her bedroom window and looked down at Dominic as he walked to his car. She knew that the kiss was something that she shouldn’t have allowed but when she was near him it was hard to hold back. She wanted him but he wasn’t the only one there that she wanted. She wanted them all. She wanted them badly but she wasn’t going to allow it to happen. Not now and not ever she couldn’t do that to herself again. She hasn’t been able to stop herself from thinking that sex was going to be the same with them as it was with Skyler. He was forceful with her and she didn’t like that. She never got off when she had sex with him. He didn’t care either but she did. He looked up at her before he pulled away and she knew that he was confused by the way she acted hell she was too. Why did she kiss him back and then push him away?

There was a knock on her door and she walked to it. When she opened it she saw that it was Vince. “Are you ok sweetie?”

“Yes I am ok just confused. I shouldn’t have allowed him to kiss me. I shouldn’t have kissed him back.” She said to him.

“Did you enjoy it?” He asked her.

“Yes I enjoyed it. But that doesn’t matter right now. What matters is I can’t allow it to happen again.” She said to him.

He looked at her and walked into the room. He kicked the door closed and looked at her. “There is only one way to make sure that it is him that you want.”

She backed away from him and looked down. “V please, don’t do this to me.”

He lifted her chin with his hand and smiled softly down at her. “You don’t understand what you do to us. You have no idea how beautiful you really are to us. We all want you in every way that we can and it is hard for us to hold back. It is hard for us not to grab you and kiss you the way we want. Dominic opened that door and you have to know that he won’t be the last one to kiss you today. For starters I am going to kiss you. It may not be now but I will kiss you before the day is over. So you might as well know that we will be fighting to be with you. We are so into you that it scares off. Never in our friendship have we been this way before.”

She pulled away from him and looked out the window. “Please stop this. Stop it before it goes somewhere I can’t. If it does I will leave. I cannot have this right now. Why can’t you guys see this? Why must it be all about you all? I am scared half to death about how I feel inside and you all think that I am doing this because I am playing. This isn’t a joke Vince. I am scared about everything that is happening inside me at the moment. I want to be cold and dead to do this but with you guys I can’t I can’t just pretend that you haven’t helped me because you all have. I am scared that it’s all a dream that I am dreaming about you guys and when I wake up I will be in the hospital coming out of a coma that he had put me in once again. I don’t’ want this to be a dream. Please tell me this isn’t a dream.”

He smiled softly at her when she looked at him and wrapped his arms around her. “This isn’t a dream. This is real. We are here for you and we will be here for you until you make the choice that you don’t need us anymore.”

She melted into his arms and sighed a happy sigh. It was the first time in years that she had felt happy. He looked down at her and saw that her eyes were closed. She looked sweet and innocent when she was like that and he realized then that he would protect her from anything he could. That the way he felt was different from what he thought it was. Oh he wanted her but the bigger part of him wanted to be her brother. He knew then that he wouldn’t try anything with her. That he would allow her to have peace with him. He will be there for her as a friend and a brother if she allowed him. Then she looked at him and smiled. “Vince kiss me once please. I want to see something.”

He lowered his lips down to hers and softly kissed her lips. She made the kiss more forceful and sighed. Then she pulled away and looked at him. “There was no spark.”

“I know I felt that too.” He said before he kissed her forehead.

“I think I am going to go lay down for a little while. I haven’t been sleeping right.” He said to her.

She nodded and looked up at him. “Thank you Vince for everything that you have done.”

“I do it because you are family and girl believe me I will be doing more when I have to.” He said as he released her from the hug.

She smiled and watched as he walked out of the room. She sighed and walked back to the window. How could she allow herself to feel happiness when there was going to be so much pain that she will have to go through. That was when she realized that she was happy because she knew that she wouldn’t be going through it alone. That they all will be there for her and she realized then that this was the first time since her grandmother passed away that she felt like she belonged with them. It was the first time that she felt like she could tell them anything and they would make her feel like it was ok. That she wasn’t worthless like he said. They all held her in high regard and she has seen it since she got back from New York.

“Hey, girl are you hungry?” Jessie asked from her door way.

She turned and looked at him. That was when he seen that he was holding her glass of tea. She nodded and laughed. “I’m starved man and I am upset because I allowed myself to get that way. So lead me to the kitchen and get me something good to eat.”

He handed her the tea and held his arm out to her. “As you wish my lady.”

She laughed and he walked her out of the room and down the stairs. When they walked into the living room Mia was there sitting on Brian’s lap. “Hey girl I was told you were in bed.”

“Nope just thinking about a few things that happened today is all.” Serenity said with a smile.

Mia nodded and Jessie pulled her into the kitchen and sat her down at the table. “So would you like left over pizza or would you like my famous peanut butter and jelly sandwich my dear?”

“I want to have your famous peanut butter and jelly sandwich my fine man.” She said with a giggle.

He beamed and went to work making her the sandwich. She laughed at him as he made funny faces while he was making the sandwich. They didn’t know it but Mia was watching them with a huge smile on her face. It was good to see her laugh. She had an amazing sounding laugh and Mia wondered how long it has been since she had smiled and laughed this much. All she knew was they had to make sure that she will be able to handle herself. But from what she has seen in the club that night she fought hard and he didn’t leave without damage from her. “Serenity Roman here will be going places with you for a few days. He will also begin you training. The others will help too. They are all going to show you how to use weapons.”

Serenity turned around and looked at her. “I can protect myself. I just have a few things that I had to work on. And I will not have someone I don’t know going every where with me. I just won’t do it.” She said as she stood up.

“He is a good friend of ours and he is a great guy. Please trust us to do the right thing for you.” Mia said as she walked to her.

“Mia I don’t want anymore hurt by this man. I can’t do that to them.” She said softly.

“You don’t have to worry about us. You should be worried about him getting hurt.” A deep voice that sounded like Dominic but she knew it wasn’t.

Dominic looked out at the beach and thought about what happened after she kissed him back. Why did he kiss her then? He had heard her but he knew that she was scared about any relationship with anyone. So why did he have to push it? You never had someone hold out on you before so you aren’t use to it. He told himself. That didn’t help any because he knew it was true. She was the first one that didn’t spread her legs for him and he knew that was the reason that he was so hung on her. Dominic Torretto wasn’t use to a girl saying no. Even if she didn’t voice it doesn’t mean that he didn’t know that answer. They all knew the answer. Then he remembered what Vince said. He wasn’t the only one in the house that she liked. Did that mean that she liked someone else? Could it be that she wouldn’t even be his in the end? He could stand the thought so he pushed it in the back of his mind and sighed. “How the hell did I allow her to get to me like this?”

He started the car and backed off the beach and head back to the house. He had to talk to her. He had to know if she like anyone else. He had to know if he was chasing her for no reason. As he drove he remembered the first time he seen her. She was on the dance floor and she was dancing by herself. Every time a guy tried to dance with her she would pull away and move. But he always kept sight of her. She was wearing a pair of tight leather pants and a tank top that barely held her breast in. she was beautiful and she kept turning every guy down. There was always a guy that couldn’t take no for an answer and he watched as she would make sure they knew that she wasn’t interested in anyone. No matter how many guys would throw her the bedroom eyes he always saw her leave by herself. There was one time that she looked right at him and smiled. Then she turned and walked out of the vlub. He knew then that she knew he was watching her.

Then the car showed up at the race and Hector said that it was someone new nad they wanted in. she won the race and it pissed him off. But the thing that pissed him off the most was when she didn’t even get out of the car and get the money. She just pulled up to Hector and held her hand out. He gave her the money and she drove away. Then the car never showed up again. He asked Hector who was in the car but Hector wouldn’t say a word abut it. All he would do was smiled and laugh. Then he would walk away.

Before he knew it he was in front of the house and he pulled into the drive way. He saw Serenity in the back yard and it looked like she was dancing. But then he watched as she flipped and kicked out at nothing. That was when he realized that she was working out. So she knew more then he thought that he did. He nodded and turned the car off. As he got out others clapped as Serenity flipped on one hand and held herself up. Then she pushed herself up and flipped. When she landed she landed in a split and smiled up at him as he walked towards her. “Glad to see that you are back.”

“Can I talk to you alone?” He asked her.

She nodded and looked at the others. “Dominic and I are going for a ride. We will be back shortly.” She said to them.

Vince looked at her for a moment and then nodded. “Have fun.”

She laughed and nodded as she stood up from the blanket that she was on. “After you my dear.”

She smiled and headed to her car. He grabbed her arm and shook his head. “No we will take my car.”

“I don’t think so. I want to drive so we are taking my car sweetie.” She said to him.

“Fine but don’t kill me.” He said to her.

She rolled her eyes and walked to the driver’s door to her car. He walked around to the other side and opened the door. He heard the rattle before she screamed. She jumped back and kicked the door shut. That was when he saw the rattle snake on the driver’s seat he slammed the door and rushed to see if she was ok. She held her arm and he saw that there was blood running between her fingers. Vince and the others were running around the house as he got out his phone and called 911 “Yeah my friend just got bit by a rattle snake that someone placed in her car. Please call the hospital and let them know that we are bringing her in. We can’t wait for anyone to get here.”

Vince grabbed Serenity’s arm and saw the bite marks on her. He placed the bite in his mouth and started to suck. He felt hot burning acid like fluid come into his mouth and he spit it out. Then he placed his mouth back on the bite and sucked again. He did it three times until he just tasted blood in his mouth. Then he picked her up and carried her to Dominic’s car. Dominic got in and started the car. “How did you know to do that Vince?”

Vince looked at him and smiled. “I know more then I let on brother now come on I may have gotten a lot out but some is still traveling through her. We have to get there and make sure it isn’t enough to kill her.”

Dominic started the car as the others piled into the others and pulled out. They sped their way to the hospital and Dominic couldn’t help but wonder why didn’t they think to check her car out this morning. All he could see was her looking white as a sheet in Vince’s arms and he prayed that Skyler will show himself soon because he was going to kill him.
