William Continued
“How is this possible!?” Marcus raged as he paced. William had come along peaceably enough. Apparently luck was on his side.
“It is quite possible that he was always able to turn back to his human form.” Dr. Preen spoke slowly to Markus as if he considered the leader of the vampires to be under educated. Markus whipped toward the short doctor, fangs bared. Immediately the doctor backed up a step. He was nothing compared to Markus and he knew it, but never had he seen such an uncivilized elder. Dr. Preen had been part of Amelia’s coven, now united with Viktor’s: the combined two now under Markus’ rule. He was plain, with brown hair and blue eyes. Slightly muscular and lean for a man of only 5’4. He was dressed, well, like a doctor, having been pulled directly from the night shift by Markus’ command.
“Impossible!” Markus raged. “I have known my brother for more centuries than you can imagine! He has always been in the man-wolf form! Always! He has spawned more creatures like himself than you could ever consider! You-”
“I can assure you, Brother, this is new to me.” The low voice was unnerving, it was so like his. He could not remember the last time William had spoken words to him. Two sets of identical blue eyes met one another as William approached. The Doctor actually hissed as he neared and Markus turned a fierce grin on him. William was dressed only in a pair of Markus’ leather pants. If not for the haggard, pale look of William’s face, one would never be able to tell them apart.
“How can you let this Lycan beast remain here, my Lord?” Dr. Preen hissed in Markus’ ear. Before Preen could take another breath his throat was missing. There was a pause before blood sprayed forth in a gush as if someone had suddenly turned on the hose. He stumbled back, hands reaching uselessly up but there was nothing to hold. His throat was missing nearly all the way back to his spine. Only a crimson mess of tissue and gushing veins could be seen. Slowly, his eyes stopped blinking, his head slumped forward and his body hit the floor. It was a soft sound on the thick rug. Markus let his hand relax, his talons releasing the chunk of meat that had been Preen’s throat mere seconds ago.
“You have not changed.” William commented, his tone completely unconcerned.
“What is it that you want William? Name it! And it shall be yours.” Markus spoke slowly as he walked up to his brother. They embraced. Something they had not done since they were children. Suddenly Markus shoved William away just as a shining silver knife sliced the space where William’s neck had just been.
Furiously Selene slashed the knife at the wolf twin as he dodged with equal speed. “Selene! CEASE your attack!!” Markus yelled the words at her with such command that Selene actually faltered. What had the monster done to her? She shook off the power of his words and leaped at her prey. The fact that he resembled Markus in every way only drove her on. ‘The bastard! He lied to me! About everything!’ Her thoughts turned her brown eyes to pale blue as anger overwhelmed her. She used everything she had in this attack, her body moving faster than the human eye could see. Her blade bit into flesh, once, twice… Blood sprayed across her face and his skin sizzled from the contact with sliver and the scent of burning tissue filled the air. An inhuman howl ripped forth from the Lycan as his body began to turn. Selene knew she had to kill him before that happened. In human form he was almost clumsy. Grasping the hilt in her right hand she put her left palm against the butt of the knife and lunged toward him, aiming for his heart, his body was twisted for a split second with the pain of changing into the beast. Now was her only chance. The full force of her power hummed through the blade as her body neared his…
If took all of Markus’ strength to stop Selene. His arms closed about her and she actually managed to take him with her. The tip of the knife sank into William’s chest as he howled. Screaming, Markus yanked her back, her screams of rage joined with his own as her kill was lost and William sank fully into the change. His body cracking and reshaping as he grew to an easy eight feet, massive fangs bared as they slid into place along his giant maw.
Markus’ lifted Selene, and turning slammed her hard into the stone wall that surrounded the large fire place in Markus’ chambers. A fire blazed in that hearth, the only light in the room. He caught hold of her right bicep and twisted her arm, drawing an agonized scream from the pale woman and causing the knife to drop to the floor. He released that arm, now useless and threaded his talon tipped fingers up through her hair, only to yank it back. Selene’s eyes burned into his endless black ones. Her chest heaved. “You lied to me? Why?” She rasped the words as he held her head at a painful angle. William was motionless across the room, watching with large, amber wolf eyes.
“I did not!” Markus announced loudly. “This was unknown to me. I did not know that William’s human form still existed within him. He found me the night of your escape.”
“Lies!” She spat into his face and he could feel the affects of his supposed betrayal. Selene felt… Wounded. It brought a smile to his face and he took a moment to bury his face in her neck. “Release me! You bastard!”
“I did not betray you, Selene. Everything I told you was truth. This you know.” Selene looked into that inhuman, bat-like face and tried to smash her head into it. He moved easily away and suddenly released her. She fell to her knees. Three of her ribs were broken and pressing heavy against her left lung. Selene screamed as Markus gently twisted her arm back to its original position, then picked up her weapon and tossed it away. William was gone, back down to where none of the vampires would spot him. Somehow most of the menace had left his brother and Markus needed to find out how. He moved to Selene now as she stood shivering and waiting for her body to heal the damage. She backed up, scowling at him only to be caught up in his arms. He offered her his neck and she tore into it with a vengeance.
The pain she caused him only brought out his own violence as he ripped away the trench coat she was wearing, his trench coat, and found nothing underneath. Within seconds he had her beneath him on the floor. She kicked out uselessly, her mouth never leaving the side of his neck. She broke away with a frustrated cry as her forced his way between her legs and deep into her. Her body arched away from him as he heaved over her. Markus’ arm slid tight around her back as he thrust into her over and over, his black eyes burning into hers. She turned away, pushing at his shoulder with her good arm her eyes searching for something, anything and finding nothing until finally they met and held his. His wings hovered around them, making him seem impossibly large over top of her. He chased her lips as she turned her head frantically away then finally caught her head with his free hand. “You are mine, Selene.” He spoke the words as he came, bringing her easily with him as he hit her deep inside, making her whimper as she fought her own pleasure.
“Yes!” She cried as the orgasm crashed over her leaving her shaking in pleasure and pain. “Michael.” She whispered her lover's name, her eyes closed and Markus only smiled, baring a row of long fangs…
