Chapter 6

Riddick took Jada around to the back of the house. "You can wait here while I go inside and speak to my wife," he told Jada softly.

"Riddick," Jada beckoned him back. "I can’t thank you enough for what you are doing for me and I promise I will repay you someday."

"Don’t talk about repayment until we find out what Nadia says. It’s up to her not me," Riddick remarked.

As he turned to the back door, the light flipped on and Nadia exited the house in her robe and slippers. Jada froze; she finally saw the woman who tamed the man she once wanted more than anything in this world. She had hoped this woman’s beauty would pale in comparison to her own but it didn’t. She was amazing and fetching. Nadia was slender and very fit. She was wrapped in black silk and the slipper she was wearing showed off her perfectly pedicured toes. Her skin was evenly brown; her almond shaped eyes seemed to see right through you. She had long brown hair that was draped over her shoulders and perfectly in place for someone who’d just gotten out of bed.

"Baby, what are you doing out here?" Riddick asked crossing the yard and placing a kiss on her forehead.

"I was about to ask you the same thing. Who is this?" Nadia asked pointing in Jada’s direction.

"That’s Jada, an old friend of mine from Planet Deep," Riddick replied.

"So…" Nadia asked.

"I was just coming in the house to discuss something with you. Can we go inside?" Riddick asked.

Nadia wanted to say, "hell no" and flip off about him bringing a strange woman to their house in the middle of the night but she decided to give him a chance to plead his case. She turned around and walked back into the house. Riddick looked at Jada silently cursing her as he followed Nadia in. He wanted to tell her no and to stay the hell away from him and he would have before…before he rediscovered decency.

Nadia went into the kitchen and poured herself a drink before coming back to the dinning room table where Riddick was already sitting. She sat down and looked into his eyes and she could see some small bit of confusion there. "What’s going on babe," she asked taking a deep breath.

"You know I love you," Riddick started

"Oh, no this is starting out all wrong," Nadia remarked.

"Wait…don’t close your mind just yet. I am sure it’s nothing like what you are thinking. I know you know as much about my past as you would like to know. I’ve done a lot of bad things, things I can honestly say now shame me. I never much care for people’s feelings and Jada is one of those people. When I was on Planet Deep, I use to frequent a bar where she was a barmaid. One night this guy was harassing her and I stepped in but not for shivery, this guy was a real asshole and the more he distracted her, the longer it took for her to get me my drink.

A couple of days later my actions caught up to me. He and a bunch of his goons caught up to me just about sunrise. I could have taken them all but it was nearly daylight. I couldn’t take the risk so…I hid. I had no clue whose house it was when I came across it. I just knew that the back door was open and I needed a place to lay low. So I went in and the house was hers, she had the opportunity to rat me out because they were running circles around the house but she didn’t. She actually let me stay and rest until night fell again. Now she needs my help, she’s been planet hopping. On the run from the guy I trampled."

"Why," Nadia asked.

"I don’t know the entire story…she said something about payback," Riddick said.

"You had a sexual relationship with this woman?" Nadia asked.

"Yeah," He replied lowly.

"So you are asking me to let one of your ex lovers stay in our home with our kids?" Nadia asked.

"No, in the guest house," Riddick said.

"Are you out of your damned mind?" she inquired.

"We don’t know anything about this woman. You haven’t seen her in over 7 years and now she just pops up out of nowhere needing your help. And asking for something so personal. All the rooming houses on this planet and she needs to stay here. This is no shelter for the homeless. And Riddick you slept with this woman repeatedly I am sure. Do you know how that makes me feel, to even think about that? The answer is fucking no and if you won’t tell, her I will."

Nadia got up from the table and started towards the door.

Riddick grabbed her by the arm.

"What are you doing?" he asked.

"What did I just say I was doing?"

"Nadia listen, I know how you feel. I don’t think I would like the idea of some guy you messed around with staying here either but I feel obligated."

"OBLIGATED! Your only obligation is to me and our children and this woman could be putting us all in danger."

Nadia looked around. Her temper was getting the best of her and she didn’t want to wake the kids.

"Let me do this for her to clear my conscience."

"I don’t know about your conscience," Nadia said picking her drink up off the table. "But I know by the morning her ass better be cleared of my home. She has one night then she has to go. Now you can show her to the guest house, you have 15 minutes."

Nadia walked off to the bedroom.

Riddick got up from the table, grabbed the keys to the guesthouse and left out of the back door. He brushed pass Jada and told her to come on as he crossed the yard. Opening the door, he flipped on the lights. He went around and opened the window; the guess house had been closed for months. The rainy season had just ended and they hadn't had a chance to go over and open it up like they did every year.

Riddick gave it quick once over, making sure that it was stocked with the things she would need for the night. He pulled the white sheets that they had draped over the furniture.

"She said you can stay for the night," He explained. "If you’re lucky, she will take you to a rooming house in the morning."

"If I am lucky? I don't need her to do anything for me." Jada said.

Riddick raised and eyebrow, "then I guess you can leave now?"

Jada drew back, "No, tell your wife I said thanks and I really appreciate all she can do for me."

It burned like hell to have to lower herself this way but her baby was worth it.

"Good night," Riddick said while heading for the door.

"Wait, can you stay out here and talk to me for a little while"

"I have to go in."

"You are certainly not the same Riddick I knew." Jada said tauntingly.

"What are you talking about," he asked.

"The Riddick I knew," Jada steadily moved closer. "He was wild and insatiable. He never turned down an invite to stay a little longer."

Now she stood with him chest to chest. She could feel his chest falling and rising against hers as he breathed her in.

"Ohh yeah," Riddick said with his eye simmering in the dim light of a lamp he turned on.

"Say yes," Jada whispered softly as she reached up to caress his face.

Riddick grabbed her hand and squeezed it tightly causing Jada to squeal in pain.

"Is that wild enough for you," he asked. "I will not allow you to disrespect my wife in her home. I didn't want you all those years ago and I don't want you now."

"If you didn't want me then why did you fuck me," Jada asked snatching her hand away from him.

Riddick stood silent for a minute put his head down and replied, "Free pussy. I want you gone in the morning."

Then he continued out of the door.

The mercs hid outside as they watched the pieces of Riddick’s family began to fall apart.

"Okay boys, the woman made good on her promise. She’s led us to the infamous Richard B. Riddick and his spawn. Nadia is gonna chew his ass out…Ha…Ha! I wish that I could see the fireworks. She’s never looked so hott…damn that lucky bastard. We will take up residence at a nearby hotel and wait until the time is right to "snatch and grab" those kids. Let’s head back to the skiff before he comes back,” a merc said walking away.

"It seems to me that he’s not that lucky at the moment sir," one merc retorted.

They laughed at Riddick’s current plight as they walked toward the skiff.
