CHAPTER 7- MC AND DOM BONDING
Mc walked outside and sat on a chair looking up at the moon.
“Hey, can I keep you company?”
“Sure as long as Letty doesn’t take it the wrong way!” She said looking up at him.
“No, I think finally I can have a female friend without Letty trying to bust her face! She likes you… hell…don’t know why, she is never taken by any women like she was taken by you!”
“Maybe because I spoke my mind and told her I was safe to be around you, her man!” Vince was coming outside but stopped when he hear her voice and Dom’s.
“Oh am I that uninteresting!” Dom said making a hurt face.
“OH come on! No you’re not, you know you’re not! You are very attractive, but taken! Period!” She said smiling. Dom sat down in front of her drinking his Corona. Vince went back inside shaking his head thinking to himself. “What’s with these girls, they can’t see passed Dom. Skanks do, girls don’t! Fuck!” The party was going on, TC was interrupted by Leon, that held her to dance with him she was surprised but danced with him. She felt weird being taken so fast for a complete stranger, something pulled her to him.
Mia and Letty were having a ball, Jesse kept playing console games, changing between GTA and Carmageddon, Vince just grabbed his guitar and played it, jamming some tunes to loose some steam.
Outside.
“You seem to be a very serious person!”
“Well … I am. When I have to, the rest of the time I’ just plain nuts!” She said laughing.
“Can I ask you something?”
“Shoot!”
“What is your story?” MC looked at him and sipped her Corona getting some moist on her throat. Dom looked at her “You don’t have to tell if you don’t want to!”
“S’ok! Nothing to tell really, my mum died in a … car accident, dad died 1 month after in a car accident too, so I was left alone to take care of my sister, I was 26 at the time… so I’m kinda like her mum and dad!”
“Fuck… sorry I asked! I lost my dad too, I was 20, and I had to raise Mia, she was nearly 5… I know how it can be hard!”
“Especially if you are a woman!”
“Didn’t you have anyone to take care of you?”
“No need, I was old enough to take care of us both… and I think I did a god job, don’t you think?” She asked looking up at him.
“Yes you did, she’s a beautiful woman and very sweet too!”
“You did a good job on Mia too, Dom!” Dom looked at her eyes deeply.
“What?”
“You don’t know how good it feels to hear that, specially from someone that really knows how hard it is!”
“Yah… I know, we had some shit in our lives didn’t we…”
“You can say that again!”
“But look at us …we turned out alright, we are still here, our baby sisters are good, we didn’t turn into criminals or shit, so we did good didn’t we?”
“Couldn’t agree with you more!” Dom said smiling. “So what did you do …you know … after all that?”
“Well … worked with cars, my dad’s legacy to me!” She said smiling wide. Dom looked up at her. “What man you got that look again?”
“What did you dad do?” Dom looked at her straight in the eyes; he could see she wasn’t very comfortable now. MC shifted in her chair. Was it too soon, or was it ok to tell now. She wondered. They were so absorbed in their conversation they didn’t notice Letty, Mia and Vince coming outside.
“There you are!” She said jumping into his lap. MC smiled at her. Dom smiled at Letty amazed she didn’t have one of her outburst of jealousy and kissed her passionately.
“Hum… that was good, did you miss me that much?” Letty said sitting up on his lap, straddling him. “Girl what were you talking about to get him to be so nice?” MC laughed, Vince stood there a little interested in the conversation too.
“Well we were just talking about me and my sister and our past… nothing to get him that hot!” MC said laughing. “So it has to be you that is doing it to him, girl!”
“I’d like to think that too!”
“You do babe, you do!” Dom said caressing her lower back.
“Hey get room will you!” Vince spat out smiling
“Oh, Old Coyote charm kicking in!” MC said looking up at him, her eyes stopped in his scars again. He moved to hide them from her. She looked at his face; his eyes had sorrow and pain. She smiled at him trying to break the ice he had built just then, he managed to smile but with sorrow and turned around and went inside. MC looked at Dom and he gave her a soft smile.
The party goes on and MC end up going to her house to rest, TC stayed with them for a while, Leon wasn’t letting her go so easy.
