Chapter Six:
'I'm gonna fade to black.
Think Im gonna fade to black.
And I swear I'm gonna take it back.
And what's done is done,
But I can't blame anyone,
Anyone but me'
- 'Fade To Black' By Nina Gordon
Elizabeth turned around quickly when she heard the door go.
She felt relief wash over her as she saw her rescuer enter the room...in women's clothes.
She started laughing almost instantly, and then laughed even harder when Jack gave her a disgruntled look.
"You look bloody ridiculous" She told him through her giggles.
Jack glared at her. "You're one to talk" He looked her up and down in disapproval. "Atleast my sahri hides a little flesh...you have everything you own on show, luv"
Elizabeth unconsciously wrapped her arms around her naked midrift, blushing slightly when she noticed Jack looking at her from head to toe.
She breathed deeply, trying to concentrate. "What do you plan on doing now?" She asked him arrogantly, trying to ignore his last comment.
"I haven't got that far, yet..." He admitted truthfully.
She rolled her eyes at him.
Typical.
She sat down on the floor and crossed both her arms and legs defiantly.
"I should have known this was a stupid idea...I should never have asked you to help me in the first place. Now you are going to get us BOTH killed!"
Jack scoffed at her words.
"Fine then, have it your way" He told her, walking towards the door that lead out to the balcony. "But I am going over the wall"
Elizabeth watched him walk outside and attempt to climb over the small balcony wall in his fuscia skirt.
She laughed when he almost lost his footing.
But she suddenly found herself laughing on the other side of her face when he signalled 'goodbye' to her with a solute, and jumped from the balcony.
Elizabeth almost screamed, but then remembered that she must not because then the guards would interefere.
Instead, she ran outside to the balcony and looked down in panic, fearing the worst.
However, upon looking down she found Jack standing on another ledge about six metres down, looking up at her; his trademark smirk in place.
"Don't even say what I know you are going to say" She told him accusingly.
Jack just kept on smiling up at her. "I don't need to say what you thought I was going to say, because you already knew what I was going to say so now I don't need to say it"
Elizabeth rolled her eyes.
Always with the riddles....
"Look" He told her impatiently, looking down to see the rather long drop he would have if he fell "If your coming with me then get yourself down here...otherwise you might aswell just go back inside your little bubble and pretend you didn't see me"
Elizabeth looked down at him.
His arms stretched out to catch her.
Then she looked back at her little 'bubble' that she had called home for the past six months...
She knew instantly which way she would choose.
Elizabeth quickly climbed over the balcony until her feet touched the cold stone on the other side.
Suddenly she felt very unsafe, and upon seeing the drop below her, she became even more unstable.
"Lower yourself down gently" Jack told her.
She was just out of his grasp, but he knew he would catch her if she took her feet off the wall and lowered herself with her arms.
Elizabeth closed her eyes so that she was not tempted to look down.
She felt queasy already and she had not even left the stone railing yet.
"Just let go, Luv" Jack told her again. "I've got you"
Bravely Elizabeth took each foot off the railing and began to lower herself.
She had a momentary shock when she felt jacks roughened hands clasp at her ankles, and then rise slightly higher up her body as she dropped herself down.
Jack did not realise what he was doing until he felt his right hand ride up her smooth thigh.
He could hear her sharp intake of breath from his intimate touch.
When he tried to remove his hand however, he found that his left hand was now doing the same action to her other leg.
Elizabeth's heart seemed to momentarily stop when she felt his hands sliding up her outer thighs and riding over her silk-covered bottom whilst he was helping her down.
No man (not even Will) had ever dared to touch her there before.
She had a good mind to shout at him, but before she knew it she had let go of the railings and his hands were suddenly riding higher, until they came to the outline of her breasts.
She stood still for a moment, trying to collect her thoughts, but once her feet were on the stone railing that Jack was standing on, he turned her around to look at him.
Jack never realised just how close she was to him until he turned her around.
Her nose was within inches of his, and her chest grazed his slightly.
To say that this situation had thrown him slightly was an understatement...he had never realised the full extent of this woman's femininity until he had felt it up close...
But this was Elizabeth, and Elizabeth was not a woman that he wanted or needed...she was just there because she asked to be and nothing more.
She stared at him, unaware of what his next move would be.
He smirked at her, all too aware of what her next move would be.
She glared at him for smirking at her, and jumped from the ledge, directly onto the stone floor, where another balcony was placed.
'See...I told you I knew what her next move would be...'
Jack jumped too, looking around them anxiously as he did so.
If they were caught out here then there was no telling what would happen to them.
"Do we go inside?" She asked him in a whisper.
The balcony was situated exactly as Elizabeth's was, with a room attached to it.
Jack listened for a minute.
There was a conversation going on inside that room.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
"Sir, I feel there is something strange going on upstairs"
"How so?" Asked Arafat.
His two guards were now standing within his private chamber. They had told him it was a matter of importance, and that they must see him right away.
"We feel that someone may be trying to free the Hynaptura" Said the second guard.
"And what would make you think that?" The tall Indian man asked the men infront of him.
"That Sparrow man..." Said the first guard. "The eccentric one with the funny walk...he came up to us earlier tonight dressed in women's clothes..."
Arafat got up from his place on the bed.
"Are you sure it was him?" He asked them sternly.
"Positive" Both men said at the same time.
"Right..." Arafat said. "In that case, search all the rooms upstairs...and if they are not there then I want you to search the whole building..."
"And what if they have already gone?" Asked the second soldier, now looking rather worried.
"Then I trust that you will know what will happen to you!" He stood and walked towards the guards. "That woman is far to precious to me to afford to be lost, do you understand?"
Both men nodded and left the room.
*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
"Bollocks"
"What?" Elizabeth asked him, sounding startled.
"They're looking for us...we need to get out of here, now"
"Do we have to climb all the way down?" She asked him, a whining sound in her voice.
Jack looked at her. "No, we're going to grow wings and fly...what the bloody hell do you expect we're going to do?"
Elizabeth huffed.
She did not want a repeat of what happened last time.
She did NOT want Jack Sparrow's hands roaming over her body everytime she got down from a ledge.
She was a married woman afterall...it was improper.
"Fine" She told him defiantly.
She got back onto the ledge and climbed over.
As she attempted to drop she knew that she would never be able to make it, and suddenly panic stepped in once again.
"Hang on and let me go first " Jack told her bossily.
He jumped with ease onto the other ledge and held out his arms once again.
Elizabeth dropped with ease this time, letting go of the rail quicker, knowing that Jack was there to catch her.
It made her feel a little more safe.
There were five more stories to go, and if they weren't careful then they were going to get caught.
When they dropped to the third level, Jack grabbed her arm and pulled her from the balcony and was suddenly opening a door to step into a room.
"There could be someone in here!" She whispered to him, trying to pull her arm away and run incase someone saw them
Jack walked into the middle of the room and saw it was empty.
He shouted for Elizabeth to enter.
"See?" He told her.
"Well...there could have been someone here"
She looked around to see that the room was identical to hers.
Jack found the door on the other side of the room.
Before he could open it however, he heard voices on the otherside.
"Look in every room...if we dont find her then its us who will get the blame..."
"You look in there and I will check in here"
Jack glanced back at Elizabeth.
Here eyes were giving him that 'I told you so' look that he hated so much.
"Find somewhere to hide!" He told her quickly, frantically searching around for a hiding place himself.
He could see the door opening bit by bit.
His heart was in his throat when he saw the shadow of a man entering the room ....
+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*+*
The small guard entered the room and peered around him.
Nothing looked out of place.
Nothing seemed to be troubled within the room.
The guard walked out, shutting the door slowly behind him.
