Chapter 7: Inside
Neil had slid up-stairs a little after midnight, though he showed Trey and Gibb the guest rooms they were free to use. They had told Gibb everything they knew: about Krueger and how he had killed the kids in Springwood, his demise at the parents’ hands, coming back and killing kids while they slept, everything. By the time they had finished, Gibb had been pale and Trey had pulled her close.
“Oh god” she had whispered into the nape of his neck, breathing shallow and irregular. “And that’s what is happening now?”
Neil nodded. “It appears so, yes.” She had shuddered and lit up another cigarette, her third since they’d first arrived.
Not that either Trey or Neil blamed her. This was heavy-duty stuff they’d laid on and all in such a short amount of time.
“Well, is there anything we can do? Anyway we can stop him?” Neil had seen a peculiar look cross Trey’s face then and though it was just a fleeting second-if that- he couldn’t shake it.
“I don’t know. So many have tried and failed. Failed numerous times and even with their lives.”
“So, no?”
Again, Neil noticed a look at Trey’s face. Again, the look was there then gone again. What could it mean? The look was in part why he had retired, not from being tired, the other to let the two talk amongst themselves without him present.
Now, they lay sprawled across one of the beds in the guest room, neither speaking. Neil had given them small bottles of Hypnocil, both of which were, for the time, unused.
Trey lay at the end of the bed, restlessly playing with the cuffs on his blue flannel. Gibb lay next to him, their hands intertwined.
Gibb sat up and put out her cigarette. Trey sat up and playfully knocked her hat off. She sighed and fell into the bed. Without realizing it, she had slid into Trey’s arms. He was totally different than what she had once believed. She saw that now-outside Springwood where no one would see them. Where no one would judge them.
“So, all this Freddy shit, it’s real?”
Trey nodded. “As real as you and me.”
“Fuck. That’s just…nuts” she said with a laugh. Trey turned her so that she was facing him. He didn’t say anything, just stared until she chuckled. “What?”
“Nothing.” He gently ran his hands through her hair; she closed her eyes and let it happen. She could feel her heart pounding and her body reacting to his touch. Slowly his hands drifted down her face, across her cheeks, down her lips, from there they explored her neck and shoulders, both which stiffened under his touch.
“Trey” she said softly, gently easing away from him. He lay back on his knees, watching her, waiting for her to tell him it was all right.
Neither of them would recall how long they each sat, fuming with desire, a pulsing that seemed to echo in the still October night. But they would never forget the magic of the tenderness that flowed from their fingers as clothes were removed, lips tracing the outline of each and every body part accessible. At last there was only one final task and Trey completed it by pulling himself up and over, falling inside her.
She closed her eyes and welcomed him, her fingers digging into the base of his shoulders and clutching on tight. She felt the moisture from his lips as they moved to each part of her, the electricity intensifying with each move he made.
Trey moved slowly, taking his time to satisfy and be satisfied. He knew there was no better nor safer place to be.
Inside.
Inside where all caution was thrown into the wind and nothing else mattered. Just the two of them, melted together as one for a moment in time that stood still for them and them alone. Inside where each time was different from the last and yet felt the same.
Inside was paradise.
When the finale came, hard, strong, and fast, Gibb dug in so deep she drew blood and Trey forced himself to remain silent, though his chest felt ready to explode. As quick as it had started, it was over. Trey pulled out and fell next to Gibb, his chest heaving, perspiration danced in the lamp’s soft glow, beads of it seemed like pools of water. Gibb rolled into his arms and he held her close, never wanting to let her go.
