Unwanted encounter
I would like to mention that Toshia's inter-actions with the Quaturians are written in a way that conciders her basic understanding and ability to speak their language.
Toshia made her way around the pyramid, taking care to avoid being seen by anyone, as she made her way to the front of the structure. She needed time to think, time to figure out how to handle this.
Her 'train of thought' seemed to coincide perfectly with the chime coming from her communicator. She pressed into the stone, looking around and making sure she was out of sight before activating it.
"This is Reeves, your orders are to retrieve information about the humanoids. Keep a low profile, we will be sending equipment to retrieve samples shortly", the deep voice resounded, laced with static.
"Humanoids......how the f.....THEY KNEW!!!.......SON OF A BITCH!!!!!", Toshia yelled out, realising just then. that she had been set up from the start. Also realizing that she was supposed to be hiding at that moment, she quickly dropped down to a sitting position behind the rock formation she was near. She got back up slowly, to look through the bushes that boarded the top of the rocks. She had definitely drawn attention to herself. A few Quaturians were looking towards her and one of the aliens, that now accompanied them, took a step in her direction. Toshia dropped back down, holding her breath.
Toshia waited for a few minutes before getting back up and peering out from behind the bushes once again. Satisfied that they were no longer looking her way, she proceeded to make her way around the stone formation.
"Toshia! Where were you! Gods are surely looking for you!" Shyann squeeled with glee, popping up in front of Toshia and nearly giving her a heart attack.
"What wrong Toshia, why you seem so frightened?"
"Shyann...I not remember Gods...they are...frightening", Toshia managed, keeping the amnesia bit going on, while trying to stay calm.
"Come, we eat, we dance, you meet Gods then everything good!" Shyann declared , pulling on Toshia's hand for her to follow.
"NO...Shyann, not now", Toshia argued, taking her hand back; but when she turned, intent on walking away, one of the alien creatures was standing just a few feet in front of her and looking in her direction.
It was now or never; Toshia had to act normal or she would end up drawing some serious unwanted attention to herself. "Jesus Christ, Nitro, GET A GRIP!" she scolded herself inwardly, as she turned back to Shyann, taking her hand as well as her offer.
Toshia reluctantly followed Shyann right into the heart of the crowd. There was huge commotion going on as the Quaturians prepared a large feast to honor, The Gods. Nighttime had now almost completely consumed the day and the light from the lit torches illuminated everything around them with a warm glow.
There were at least 20 alien beings in all, throughout the crowd. All had metal armor and masks, with slight differences from one to another. Their skin tones and the length of their dread-like hair also differed. Toshia observed them intensely, their movements were graceful, yet primal; massive bodies moving with calculated measure, a most impressive spectacle.
Shyann tried to lead Toshia towards the main alter, where the largest of the alien creatures, no doubt their leader, was talking to Henday. Knowing without a doubt, what Shyann had in mind, Toshia broke free of her and quickly disappeared into the small sea of Quaturians.
As she made her way through the croud, Toshia was startled by the unexpected thundering sound of drums, beating in unison. The crowd around her started dissipating to form a circle and Toshia quickly huddled against them, making sure she was not left standing alone in the middle. Her eyes wildly darted from side to side, trying to find the origin of the sound, and the reason for it. Atop the base stones of the pyramid, six men were rhythmically beating down on large drums. Through the newly formed space within the crowd, dancers came into play, executing a mesmerizing choreography in ceremonial attire. Colorful feathers and gold twirled gracefully through the air, while glistening bellies undulated in unison.
"Beautifull yes?" said Peya-Luna, as she came up behind Toshia.
"Yes, they very good", Toshia agreed, her eyes barely leaving the show.
"Come, you talk to Gods now, find out why they send you", Peya-Luna urged, tugging on Toshia's arm.
"Please! No!"
Peya-Luna was startled by Toshia's reaction. "Not be afraid! Gods big, but no hurt you for no reason. They send you, why afraid?"
"You not understand Peya-Luna, I not come from Gods...I.."
Upon seeing Peya-Luna's face twist in confusion, Toshia knew all to well that she was not going to be able to convince the girl otherwise. She had to buy herself some time. If those aliens came to find out that she wasn't from around there, or THEN for that matter, she would be in some serious shit.
Leaving Peya-Luna behind, she quickly seeped through the croud, searching for Tanun and Odan. Luckily, she didn't have to look for very long.
"Tanun, Odan, not tell Gods I fall from sky", Toshia pleaded with both of them; looking them in the eye, with an intense worry that shook them both.
"Why?" Tanun asked, gently putting his hand on her shoulder, in a gesture of comfort.
"PLEASE! Toshia pleaded, "Just no tell them".
Before Tanun could respond, Peya-Luna came up to him to tell him that Henday was summoning him to the speaking stone. Toshia watched Tanun make his way over to the altar, along with many other men from their tribe. The dancers had just finished putting on their show and were slowly mixing with the re-forming crowd. Toshia's gaze followed a dozen of the aliens gathering ether side of the altar, on top of two step-like stones. Without a doubt, they were settling in to watch an event of some sort. She then noticed that a few others had accompanied their leader at the altar and the few that were left seemed to be standing guard, dispersed around the crowd.
During the hour that followed, four men fought each other, one on one, as both the aliens and the Quaturians watched and cheered on. The fights went on until one of the challengers stayed down and the other was declared victorious by Henday. When the third pair came up, Toshia's attention focused on Tanun, who was up against, easily the largest Quaturian she had seen so far.
"Holy shit!" she whispered to herself, as she watched them face each-other, "he's gonna kill him!"
"What you say?" Peya-Luna questioned with confusion.
"That one very big, how Tanun fight him?" Toshia asked in turn, avoiding the previous question all-together.
"His name Daotu, he very strong but Tanun very fast"
As Peya-Luna finished speaking those words, the order was given, and the fight began. The two opponents circled each other, while the crowd roared in anticipation. Daotu was the first to make a move, but Tanun avoided the hit. This went on for a few minutes until Tanun was finally able to get a good punch in, right under the rib cage. Peya-Luna was right, Tanun was very fast. He had managed to get in quite a few punches, but unfortunately, Daotu's sheer size made it very hard for him to cause any real damage.
Almost twenty minutes had passed since the beginning of the fight and both opponents were starting to get tired.
Tanun from trying to cause damage and Daotu from trying to get a grip on Tanun. That was when Tanun made a fatal mistake. He took his eyes off Daotu for a few seconds, trying to find Peya-Luna in the crowd and that was all Daotu needed to grab hold of him.
Peya-Luna and Toshia both inhaled sharply, as they witnessed Daotu lifting Tanun up in the air, before smashing his body down on the stone ground. The impact was brutal. Tanun's body contracted into a ball, his broad face twisted in an expression of pain. It was clear he was not about to get up again. The crowd howled in discontent when Daotu started kicking Tanun in the ribs, with full force, while he was still on the ground.
Although she had not known him for long, Toshia's mind went black with rage in an instant. Without thinking, she ran through the crowd, pushing people out of her way as she did. Both aliens and Quaturians watched in shock as Toshia popped into the fighting area and leapt through the air towards Daotu, who was still kicking Tanuns' now motionless body.
"YOU SON OF A BITCH!!!" Toshia howled, as she twisted her body in mid air before landing a phenomenal kick in Daotu's chest.
Daotu fell back heavily into a sitting position, unable to catch his breath and grabbing his chest with both hands. Toshia had used the force of the impact to flip back and had landed on her feet. Time stood still as everyone around took in what had just happened, including Toshia. Breathing heavily, she looked around at an ocean of shocked expressions. The very attention she had been trying to avoid was there and it brought friends...

"Did you see that!?" Gasped Ra'jon'te to Lord Go'Jin.
"I may be old but I'm not blind...didn't you say ooman females are much weaker than the males?" Lord Go'Jin, growled.
"They are, but that one clearly defies that fact", Ra'jon'te observed.
"That was a skilful move", Lord Go'Jin remarked, bringing a hand up to rub the bottom of his mask.
"Skilful?! that was down right amazing!" Di'tse'te trilled in an, "I'm obviously more than just curious about her", manner, earning himself a long cynical stare from his brother.
"You seem very intrigued by this ooman Di'tse'te", Lord Go'Jin chuckled, leaning into Di'tse'te as he spoke.
"I've tried to reason with him Lord Go'Jin, but he's incorrigible!"
"Nonesense, Ra'jon'te. The boy is just curious, let him be."
Leaning into Di'tse'te again, Lord Go'Jin whispered, making sure Ra'jon'te didn't hear. "If you survive the hunt, I just might give you permission to...'experiment' with one of them".
At those words Di'tse'te got up trilling loudly and taking in a deep anticipating breath as he did so. That was most definitely the best motivational speach he had heard so far. He looked over to where the strange ooman female still stood, with a wicked grin under his mask.
"What in Paya's name did you tell him?"
"Mere words of encouragment Ra'jon'te, mere words of encouragment...."
