Chapter 8
Chapter 8
Renee stood in the shadows of Vader’s study, out of sight from the holoprojector. Vader rolled his eyes at her as he took a deep breath and knelt in front of it. The blue shimmering image of the Emperor materialized.
“Lord Vader, I need you to find an escaped prisoner.”
Vader looked up at him and tilted his head. “What prisoner Master?”
Baring his teeth in a sneer that made Renee clamp her hand over her mouth to keep from gasping, the Emperor continued. “She is very important to me. I have sent the latest pictures to you. I expect her to be brought back to me alive I have…plans for her.”
“Yes Master,” Vader replied as the image faded away. Walking over to the console, Renee saw his hands clench into fists as the image of the prisoner flashed onto the screen. She joined him and placed her hand on his shoulder as she looked at the picture. Her mouth flew open and she turned to look at Vader, her eyes wide in surprise.
“Oh hell naw!”
Bonnie rolled over and snuggled against Obi-wan. She knew the morning was approaching quickly, but it was a special treat to have him still in bed with her. He stirred and placed his arms around her, pulling her on top of him.
“Morning love.” He kissed her sweetly and brushed a few stray hairs from her eyes.
“Hey baby!” She replied and lay on top of him, tracing the ridges of his muscles on his chest.
His hands wandered down the length of her body and he pulled her toward him, kissing her sweetly.
“Hmmm, and what are you plannin’ to do today?” she asked as she traced her fingertips around his ear and nibbled on his bottom lip.
A big sigh escaped his lips and he rolled his eyes. “I’ve got another lovely meeting to attend today.” A light suddenly came on inside him and he looked deep into Bonnie’s eyes. “Would you like to accompany me?”
Bonnie jerked back from him. “What? You’re fuckin’ kiddin’ me right?”
Chuckling, Obi-wan sat up and kissed her. “It would be my honor if you would join me today.”
“Oh darlin’, I think that would be big fun.” Bonnie practically bounced and almost squealed.
They both stood up and grabbed their clothes, giving each other sweet glances. Bonnie was not sure how long this would last, but if he was willing to do this he might just be loosening up enough that she could put up with his ass for a while.
“Oh you GOTTA kill that sonofabitch!” Renee practically screamed as she paced around the room, her face contorted and her lips only a thin line over her bared teeth.
“He will die, but it will be a time of MY choosing.” Vader stalked over to her and grabbed her by the shoulders. Their eyes locked and Renee turned away from him, steam almost coming from her ears.
Pulling his hands from her, she walked toward to the door before turning around to sneer at him. “Well you better fuckin’ hurry up about it or you’ll lose your chance.”
Renee stormed out and made her way to the training room. She had to take this out on something, or someone, and she at least had enough sense to realize that tangling with Vader was not the wisest idea. Kicking the door open, she walked over to the large punching back and hit it for all she was worth. “You fuckin’ bastard!” Her eyes no longer shone any hue of her normal blue; she was in total Sith mode.
Vader threw a glass against the wall. It smashed loudly and shattered to shards. That wasn’t enough. He looked over at the large desk along the side of the room and with a wave of his hand, it flew against he other wall and splintered into a thousand pieces. “Damnit!” he hollered.
A meek voice came from outside the door. “Lord Vader?”
“What!” he bellowed, his fists clenched at his sides and his breath coming in huffs.
“A ship has just landed, my Lord.”
Taking a deep breath, he shook his head. “Very well, escort them inside and I’ll go retrieve the lady.”
Vader knew this was piss poor timing and that it would be hard to get Renee to calm down enough to greet her friend. He placed his hand on his lightsaber and walked out of the room.
He didn’t have to guess where she was; he could feel her hatred and anger from a mile away. As he approached the door to the training chamber, he heard a loud crash and kicked the door open. A smile curled his lips as he saw Renee flat on her back with the punching bag pinning her to the floor. It seemed that she was stronger then she realized and had knocked the blasted thing off its hinges. She turned to see him smirking at her and growled, “Are you just gonna stand there and laugh at me or are ya gonna help me up?”
Vader stood with his arms crossed and twitched his fingers. The bag gently lifted off her and rolled against the wall. By this time, Renee had at least gotten some of her anger out and bit her tongue as she walked over to him. No longer able to hold back, he lowered his head and chuckled at her.
“What’s so fuckin’ funny?” she asked, trying to cover a smile that tried its hardest to creep on her face.
“That was an interesting display, belle. Feel better?” His smile was infectious and the glimmer in his eyes made her shake her head and laugh.
“A bit, but that doesn’t mean you’re off the hook.” She playfully poked him in the chest.
His eyebrow raised as she reached down and grabbed her hand. “Oh, of that I am sure. But there is someone else that needs your attention right now.”
Bonnie could hardly believe that she was sitting in a conference room with Obi-wan, much less that his hand rested on her knee. She practically beamed and smiled widely as she looked around the room. Her breath hitched slightly when the large holopad in front of them engaged and the Jedi Council room materialized.
Terry sat in the far corner and glared at the two of them. So, he guessed, the rumors were wrong about this Jedi. As the meeting progressed, Terry’s jealousy only grew as he watched Bonnie smile and lean against Obi-Wan.
They watched the members of the council with interest but Bonnie noticed Mace giving them a scowl when he saw Obi-wan thread his fingers amongst hers. The reports were mind numbingly boring to Bonnie but she enjoyed the fact that Obi-wan gave her attention, and in front of god and everyone.
The meeting adjourned but Yoda asked Obi-wan to remain. Bonnie looked at him as if to ask to stay and he stood up, pulling her with him. “I will catch up to you in the mess hall.” His eyes twinkled and he bent down to kiss her softly before turning back to the holopad. Bonnie giggled as she left but lingered outside the door, wanting to hear what they had to say.
“Most disturbing your behavior is Obi-wan,” Yoda crooned.
“Yes Kenobi. Just what do you think you are doing?” Mace snorted as he leaned in and shifted in his chair.
Obi-wan stood tall and looked at both of the masters. This was not something that would be up for debate. His mind was made up. “There is nothing disturbing, master Yoda. I am just following what I should have years ago. You always tell me to follow my feelings.”
“Not what we were talking about, Obi-wan. This woman, care for her you do?” Yoda clenched his glimmer stick and narrowed his eyes.
“Yes master, very much.” He knew this would come. A time when the council would confront him and he figured now was as good a time as any.
Mace flinched and ground his teeth. “You can be expelled from the order for this.”
Obi-wan looked at him and smiled. “I know.”
“Worth it to you is she?”
“In every sense of the word. If you wish to expel me, then do so, but I will not step away from her.” His back was as rigid as a durasteel beam and his voice never wavered.
“Meditate on this I will,” Yoda said as he sat back in his chair.
Mace gave him a nasty sneer before turning back to Obi-wan. “This woman, she is a friend of that female of Vader’s?”
Lowering his eyes, Obi-wan shook his head. “Not anymore. She was once her friend but those bonds were broken and I am not entirely sure they can ever be repaired.”
“Attachments lead to the dark side.” Yoda spoke plainly, as if he was quoting from some unseen book.
“I know, but the attachment is there and I feel no pull to the dark side because of it. I will not give her up. I…” he paused and took a deep breath, “care for her.”
Mace turn to Yoda who shook his head. “Expected this from you, I did not. Consult the rest of the council, we will.”
Bowing respectfully, Obi-wan nodded. “Yes master.” The holopad images faded out and he stepped back, the realization of what just transpired slowly sinking in. Was he really willing to give up his life with the Jedi for this woman? His mind tried to scream out the Jedi code, but his heart thumped loudly in his ears. Yes, this woman was part of his life now and he was not going to give her up for anything.
Bonnie heard the conversation end and ran down the hallway toward the mess hall, not seeing the young rebel in her way. She plowed into Terry and looked up at him. “Sorry darlin’.” She tried to side step him, but he countered and grabbed her by the arms.
“A dangerous game you are playing with that Jedi.” Terry said, his eyes narrowed.
“What the fuck are you talkin’ about?” Bonnie broke from his grasp and landed her hands on her hips.
“Giving your heart to someone who has none is always risky.” He moved closer to her and pushed her against the wall, his hands on either side of her head.
Bonnie shoved hard at his chest but he didn’t budge. “You got issues boy.”
“You have no idea.” Terry responded and ran one of hands through her hair.
Renee ran down the hallway of the castle, her bare feet slapping against the marble floor. Cindy and Jango just made their way into the main corridor as Renee came upon them.
“Cindy!” She screamed as she threw her arms around her friend and twirled her around. “Damn girl, it’s good to lay eyes on you again.”
Cindy grinned from ear to ear. “Thanks babe. I thought I never see ya’ll again.”
Vader walked up behind Renee and Cindy reached out to him. Renee let her go and Cindy hugged him. “Thank you baby. I know my rescue was all your idea.”
Vader chuckled and held Cindy at arms length, looking her over. “I am pleased to see you again.” He motioned to Jango as Renee grabbed Cindy’s arm. “Come on girl, let’s get you cleaned up and in from fresh clothes.”
Renee led Cindy to her room and as she was showering, she laid out fresh clothing for her. Cindy emerged from the fresher wrapped in a towel and as she started to pull on the clothes, she looked at Renee. “So I guess you know all about it.”
Renee walked from her and started out the window. “I know enough. That old bastard will pay for this, mark my words.”
“I guess our favorite Sith Lord will see to that,” Cindy said as she pulled the shirt over her head.
“That he will. I just wanna be there when he does it so I can see him cut the fucker in two.” Renee turned to look at Cindy and had a wicked grin on her face.
“Damn girl, ya got a bit of bloodlust in ya, eh?” Cindy said.
“Naw, I just wanna make sure he gets what’s coming to him.”
Cindy laughed and walked over to Renee, placing her hand on her shoulder. “Just do me one favor, cut his dick off and bring it back to me in a jar.”
A curious look came over Renee’s face. “What the fuck do ya want that for?”
Cindy grinned. “I wanna pour acid over it and watch it dissolve.”
Renee nodded her head and hugged Cindy. “Ya got it girl.”
Bonnie was still trapped between the wall and Terry’s heated body when Obi-Wan approached. Terry leaned in close to Bonnie and licked up her neck, delighting in the quivering he felt from her. He soon felt a strong hand on his shoulder pulling him from her.
“I believe that is MY woman.” Obi-wan sneered at him.
Terry gasped. He knew that Jedi were not supposed to show emotion, but he knew what a pissed off look was and was a little more than shocked. “Yours? I didn’t know that Jedi were allowed to have women,” Terry snorted.
Obi-wan pushed him against the other wall and got within a few inches of his face. “If I catch you harassing her again, you will pay.” Obi-wan felt something that he usually allowed to be absorbed by the Force but this time, he held onto it and allowed the powerful feelings to swirl around him.
Terry swallowed hard and lowered his gaze. He knew when to pick a fight and this was not one of those times. Bonnie came up behind Obi-wan and laid her hand on his arm. “Come on baby, let’s get outta here.”
Obi-wan let Terry go and his harsh expression faded quickly as he looked into Bonnie’s eyes. He wrapped his arm around her protectively and walked down the hallway, seemingly please with himself.
Bonnie poked him in the ribs. “A little dark for you, wasn’t it?”
Obi-wan laughed. “Yes ma’am. But things do change.”
The night at Vader’s castle was lively and joyous. Renee kept the conversation lively and as the whiskey started to flow the giggles began to echo throughout the castle. Vader extended an invitation to Jango to remain with Cindy, if for nothing more than to serve as bodyguard. He accepted the generous invitation and as he noticed Cindy yawning, he escorted her upstairs.
Renee turned to Vader and her smile faded from her lips. “When?”
He walked over and sat on the table in front of her. “Tonight.”
She looked up at him and smiled. “I want to be there.”
Leaning down, he pulled her up to stand between his legs and kissed her. “I knew you would.”
Obi-wan was quite restless in his sleep that night. He felt that things were changing and his dreams took a dark turn. He saw flashes of red and heard screams before he woke up, covered in sweat. Bonnie was blissfully unaware of his turmoil and he covered her up as he stood. He began to pace around the room. The Force was murky and he could only see shadows and feel vague emotions but he knew something was amiss. Something dark loomed in the distance.
Renee stood in the shadows of Vader’s study, out of sight from the holoprojector. Vader rolled his eyes at her as he took a deep breath and knelt in front of it. The blue shimmering image of the Emperor materialized.
