Chapter Seven:
'We're the same,
and you dont even know it.
We're afraid,
and we tried not to show it.
And your tired and I am too,
So theres only one thing you can do.'
'Hold onto me' by Nina Gordon
Elizabeth drew her breath.
Surrounded by darkness, the only thing she was aware of was the feeling of Jack's body standing so close to hers within their tiny space.
When the guard had opened the door, Elizabeth had done the only thing she could think of...and pulled Jack into a seemingly large wardrobe within the room.
However, the wardrobe was the tiniest of spaces and now their bodies were almost pressed together within the confined place.
She could feel his chest just scraping her own.
She could feel his chest rising and falling as he drew breath.
Jack felt uncomfortable.
He could feel her next to him, her hair innocently brushing his shoulder.
He did not handle confined spaces very well, and he certainly did not like them when they were being shared with someone else.
He could hear nothing within the room.
Taking a deep breath, he slowly opened the wardrobe door.
Moonlight caught them both suddenly from the window, and they both realized just how close to each other they really were.
Elizabeth could see the lines on his face which had been caused by the sun and time.
It was quite endeering if she was honest.
But what right did she have to say nice things about other men when hers lay dead at the bottom of the Ocean?
She had always told herself that she would remain faithful to him until her dying days...and she would stay true to that promise until that day came.
Jack glanced at her before stepping out of the closet.
He immediately walked over to the door and pressed his ear against it.
Nothing.
He took a few paces and let Elizabeth know it was safe, before drawing his sword from the skirt of his Sahri and went to open the door.
Elizabeth grinned.
A Pirate in a Sahri, drawing his sword...there was something you didn't see everyday.
When Jack stepped out into the corridor, Elizabeth followed anxiously.
Jack checked his surroundings before starting to sprint down the corridor.
Elizabeth had no choice but to follow him.
As they ran, they found two flights of stairs before coming across another door.
Jack peered around it to check for guards, before picking up his pace again and running.
"Jack!" Elizabeth shouted, finding it hard to keep up with him.
"Hurry up!" He shouted back at her, disappearing around a corner.
Elizabeth felt herself stop.
She had to catch her breath back.
After gasping for air, she was about to make another run for it and follow Jack...until she heard the rather large noise of breaking glass, followed by a 'thud'.
Lead filled her stomach.
She ran directly towards the noice and turned the corner...to find Jack standing over a guard.
He had smashed a flower vase over his head.
Before Jack had time to say something witty, more voices were heard from around the opposite corner.
Jack mouthed for Elizabeth to run in the direction she had come, but before he had time to get the words out, three men had hurdled round the corner and pounced on the Pirate before he even had a chance to use his sword.
"NO!" Elizabeth shouted.
With Jack struggling on the floor, being held down by two of the guards, the third one made his way towards Elizabeth.
She turned and started to run, but she was knocked over from behind as arms encircled her waist and she fell to the ground, hitting her head hard in the process.
That was when it all went black.

Elizabeth woke with one hell of a headache.
She tried to rub her head, but then realized that there was something binding her hands together behind her back.
"Glad you have decided to join us, Hynaptura" Came Arafat's gleeful voice in her ears.
Elizabeth opened her eyes and took in the scene around her.
The three guards were holding Jack (who was awake and handcuffed), as Arafat sat on a chair behind his desk...and she sat there being restrained by rope.
Looks like she had the short straw.
"You tried to escape, and now both of you must suffer the consequences" Arafat told them simply.
"Do we get to pick who dies first?" Jack asked curiously.
The Indian man looked at him strangely.
"Because if we do, then I think Lizzie should go first because then I will know how much pain I am in for...."
One of the guards held him tighter, earning a glare from the Pirate.
"It is not that simple" Arafat explained. "You will die and she will watch"
"What?!" Jack exclaimed.
Elizabeth smirked. "I'm fine with that"
Jack glared at her this time.
"Good" Arafat smirked.
Arafat clapped his hands and all of a sudden, all three of the guards turned on Jack and started beating the shit out of him.
The Pirate kept an arrogant face as he was punched, kicked and tortured by the guards.
But soon he was feeling the pain and dropped to his knees, and soon after he was kicked hard in the back, which caused him to fall onto his stomach with a 'thud'.
Elizabeth thought they were joking.
She thought they would lock him in the cells.
That was more humane than this.
This was barbaric.
Punch after punch, she winced as she saw Jack's dignity getting stripped as he lay there on the floor, utterly defenceless.
He would not look at her.
He would rather die than look at her.
Before she had woken up, Arafat had given him a choice.
Either he died, or Elizabeth did.
Jack chose the first option, not being able to see an innocent woman die in the way he was doing right at that moment.
Elizabeth could not watch.
She shut her eyes tight.
She could hear the grunts.
Hear the echoing sound of pounding upon the skin.
She willed it to stop.
Jack did not deserve this.
He had come here to help her, and now suddenly he was sentenced to his death.
She wanted it to stop so much that just the thought of what was happening to him was starting to hurt her too.
She could feel every kick, every blow to the head...
She could feel the pain he was going through.
Suddenly she could hear screaming.
Men screaming.
She opened her eyes to find all three guards collapsing onto the floor.
Arafat seemed to be choking to death in his seat.
Something was killing them all.
She looked down at Jack, to find him badly beaten, but still alive.
The guards had stopped their screams.
They had stopped their movement...
They were gone.
"Jack?!" Elizabeth shouted loudly.
He flinched.
"JACK!" She shouted louder.
She tried to move the chair she was tied to, so she could get closer to him.
Jack suddenly came-to.
He looked up at her weakly...and smiled slightly.
"Still alive" He told her quietly.
Rolling onto his back, his hands still handcuffed, he sat up slowly, looking at the guards surrounding him.
"Who massacred everyone?" He asked, looking confused.
Elizabeth had no answer to that herself, because she saw no one.
Jack slowly got to his feet, hobbling slightly as he did so.
Upon closer inspection, Elizabeth realised that one of the guards had injured his knee, and there was now a hole in the fuscia sahri he wore.
His face seemed all puffy, and she knew he would carry bruises within the next couple of days.
She felt an overwhelming urge to tend to his wounds...
He walked over to Elizabeth slowly and un-tied the ropes that were restraining her.
She got off the chair and looked at him sympathetically.
She put her hands upon his cheeks and moved his head from side to side, examining the damage.
"You will bruise quite badly, I think" She told him quietly.
Jack nodded, the feel of her cool hands on his battered face becoming a soothing aid.
"Come on" He told her, still hobbling. "Lets go before this lot wake up"
Elizabeth nodded and opened the door to Arafat's office.
That was when she noticed something familar.
A hat.
"Jack" She told him with a smirk.
She pointed at something in the corner.
Jack looked over and smirked.
Arafat had found his clothes and put them on a chair in his office.
"Carry them for me would you, Luv?" He asked her. "I'm a bit tied up at the moment" He showed her his handcuffs.
She nodded silently and picked them up, before slowly following Jack out of the door.
This was it.
She was free again.
Something that she never expected to be for along time.
And now she was going along with Jack...
and she realised that from now on, everyday was going to be a new one for her.
Apart from that, you may find this chapter quite interesting...
but not as interesting as what is to come!!! :-D
