Test of Wills
Next day, kind of like what happened in FVJ-Kia and Lori go to school, Blake’s dead, etc with few differences. Once again, will switch back and forth between Kia and Lori and Gibb and Trey who are mastering their powers. NOTE: No pun intended in title and sorry if the high school has a name, I’m making one up
Disclaimer: I do not own Freddy, Jason, Gibb, etc. Only the premise is mine.
Chapter 8: Test of wills
The hallways of Springwood High were filled with whispers and rumors of just what had happened to Blake at 1428 Elm Street. Every pair of eye seemed to be fixed on either Lori or Kia, even teachers and staff, though they tried to be discreet.
Lori walked as if in a daze, sleep had come in fits and been interrupted by nightmares. Nightmares of a burned man with razors for fingers. Kia walked next to Lori, her protector in this time of chaos and more questions than answers.
After beating Linderman down for what felt like the millionth time, Lori had asked “did you sleep at all?”
“No not really. You?”
“Same. When I did, I dreamt of this man, he wasn’t even human, and he was burned and he had like razors for fingers. Oh Kia it was so real and so scary.”
Kia pulled her close. “It’s all right. Just a dream.”
“But it was so real.”
“It was a dream. That’s all.”
“Maybe not.” They turned to see the voice. A young teen maybe a year or two older than them stood behind them. He had disheveled blonde hair and wore a blue jeans jacket. “Did you hear a rhyme? One two, Freddy’s coming for you?”
Lori stepped back, the look on her face gave an answer. “When you hear that, he’s coming. He was a child murderer and the parents, the dear parents of Springwood, killed him. But now he kills us in our dreams. Consider yourself lucky to be alive. Very lucky.”
“Mark! Knock it off! She’s scared enough.”
“What the hell? Did things just get stranger here or what?”
Lori wasn’t listening, in fact, she was drawing herself closer to the second voice. It may have been nearly four years but she’d know the face of her true love anywhere: Will Rollins. She finally stared him right in the eyes, he stared back. “Will” she said softly, touching his face to make sure he was real. He smiled and nodded.
“I had to see you, make sure you were all right.”
The sudden stress of last night, lack of sleep, and her long lost love right in front of her caused Lori to faint, fortunately, right in Will’s arms.

Neil, Trey, and Gibb were in a plain white room in his house, sitting in three separate wicker chairs. Gibb shifted uncomfortably, partly from about to experience something that wasn’t considered “normal” and partly nerves from last night though why was strange.
“Just relax your mind and body. Make your mind blank. Now, focus on the pendulum. Follow it with your eyes. Tune out everything else and relax. You feel yourself getting tired. Nothing would be better right now then a good, deep sleep. “ Gibb could actually feel herself getting tired, her eyelids dropping lower and lower. “I’m going to count backwards from five. When I’m done, we will be asleep.”
Again, Gibb felt a nervous prickle of fear and tried to ignore it, tried to relax. Slowly, Neil started to count. “Five. Four. Three. Two. One.”
Both Gibb and Trey were asleep. Not more than a minute later, Gibb’s eyes reluctantly opened. “Whoa. I feel really weird.”
Neil nodded. “It’s okay.”
“What is happening? Are we asleep?”
Neil nodded. “Yes. All the pendulum did was make us fall asleep. I’ve done this before, but I think this time should go better.”
“What happened last time?”
“Your cousin was hurt and ended up in a coma which he eventually woke from. But don’t worry, I don’t think anything should go wrong.”
“Where’s Trey?” Neil stood and looked around the room, which only took several seconds. “Neil, where is he?” she asked, fear sinking in her stomach deep.
“Right here.” They both heard his voice, but could not tell where it was coming from. He laughed and suddenly flew from the ceiling, landing safely in his chair.
“Damn you! That was not funny! Why would you…” She had looked at him and was startled by the way he was dressed: loose black pants, a black satin vest, a bandanna in his hair, two arm-plates that extended from the wrist almost until the forearm, coiled around his hands like a snake. Behind his back, strapped down tightly, was a long sword, another at his leg. “Holy shit.”
“Sets a new meaning to the term “dream warrior” huh?” he said, his jet eyes moving from Gibb to Neil, looking for a reaction of some sort.
“Well, warrior you are.” Trey nodded and turned to Gibb. She swallowed. What now, she wondered.
“Your turn. Be whatever you want.”
She swallowed again, shut her eyes and focused. She felt something but kept her eyes shut and focused on what it might take to beat Fred Krueger.
The transformation finished, Gibb’s eyes remained shut. She heard enough from Trey and Neil to know she’d made the best choice.
“Kruger, I pity you.”
“What a perfect combination you two make.”
“When can we take the sonofabitch out?”
“He’ll come. And we’ll send him packing right back to hell where he belongs.”
“Amen.”

Will and Mark had disappeared after the principal had come out of his office to see the unconscious Lori. He didn’t notice the two amongst the sea of students, as they were swallowed up by the crowd and eventually disappeared.
Now, Lori slept in the nurse’s office, Kia in the front of it, refusing to leave. The principal had given up with shrugged shoulders and muttered incoherent words that Kia did not care to hear repeated.
She was leafing through magazines, not really caring what was in them, just needing something to keep her mind off Lori and what had happened last night. She sighed and gave up, tossing it on the table which was scattered with magazines and books. Leaning back against the seat, she felt sleep taking over and she didn’t bother fighting it.
