You Know I Love You Right?

 

 

Ch. 8: The Fire Ignites

 

            I ran as fast as I could to get away. I went anywhere just to get away from them. I finally came up to closed down factory. I kept running until I closed the door behind me in the boiler room and I made sure I held the door tight.

Lily, Jack, and I went for a walk just to go anywhere and we talked about anything. They quickly let me go off on my own, probably to make out somewhere. After walking around for a bit I was surprised to see a whole bunch of cars chase after someone so I decided to follow. I managed to hide quickly hide behind one of the old buildings they had driven up to. I managed to recognize the man’s jacket and I gasped as I realized they were after my father. I looked at the scene in total shock. Why were they chasing him? I jumped when a man shouted his name.

“Kruger come out you bastard!” A parent shouted from outside at me. I felt him try and push his way in. “You open this door Kruger!” He shouted again.

“What do you thinking I did? I didn’t do anything?!” I shouted back in fear as the banging continued.

“Open the fucking door!” Another person shouted.

“What are you doing? Stop!” I pleaded. When they had left the door alone I looked around the place. “Ok. Ok.” I kept repeating to myself. I couldn’t go out a back way. When I slowly opened the door a crack I slammed it back shut. I was frightened by the fact that I couldn’t get out.

It was a mad mob outside. The people were banging the door and screaming for my father to come out. I stood frozen to my spot as I saw one of the adults pull a container of gas from his car trunk. I heard them argue about something, but it quickly ended. Tears started to come down my face as I saw him light the container.

“This is for my son!” The man shouted as he threw the lite container into the building where my dad was.

“This is for my son!” I heard someone shout. I saw a lit container of gas shatter through the glass and the floor caught on fire. The walls light up instantly from fire. I screamed and jumped trying to get away from the fire at my feet. I kept screaming as it got hot so quickly. In my panic I tore off my coat, still trying to dodge the fire. I was surrounded by it when the fire exploded in my face.

            I heard daddy screaming in the building. It was quickly engulfed in flames. All the adults did was watch. I jumped the building exploded. The crowd jumped back in surprise as glass scattered on the ground. It was silence for a bit except the crackling of the fire. The adults slowly approached the building when daddy burst through the door. His whole body was covered in flames and he was screaming in pain. He didn’t get very far before he fell the to the ground limp.

            All I could think of was getting out. I just desperately wanted to get out of the fire. It was agonizing pain and I just wanted it to stop. I ran as far as I could before I fell to the ground. I couldn’t think and I couldn’t feel anything, but one word came to my mind and before everything went black all I could think of was Khristen.
