Lamp Halo

It's my life
Yeah I know
It's not a perfect one, but
It's a life
I can live with...

This story was inspired by those lyrics. It's a song written by Kim
Ljung and a man named Keller. The band, if you care to know, is
Zeromancer and I'm quite fond of them. Not with them, unfortunately,
but of them nonetheless.

My disclaimer: I do not own the characters and I don't own the song.
The plot is mine, however. Oh, and by chance, because I'm not very
original, if the plot of my story is parallel to another then I assure
you it is clearly by accident. I hardly ever read fan fiction and have
just recently become a fan of fiction myself. I'll thank the reviewer
and recommend stories far more great than my own if I see fit. That
about ends this. One more thing...

I warn of slash ahead. This story does have a sexual encounter or two
with one man and another. If you do not like the idea then simply turn
back now. If you fail to heed my warning then it is your own fault and
no others.

Thank you.

Scratching at his maroon colored bandana, Captain Jack Sparrow looked
out to the back alley of his new home of sixty-two hours. The air
inside had turned stuffy and the screams and lashes were too
distracting for his soft demeanor and cool nature. He wanted to think,
retrace his steps to see where he had gone wrong. His brow furrowed as
he thought back into the past week. He really did it this time... The
air blew at his two-pronged beard while he thought back into his past,
into his present. He decided that it be best if he concentrated on how
to get out right now. Seeing this point, he took note of the steel bars
bounding his window for no escape. The bars inside, creating the small
boxed cell around him, were much the same. Jack looked to the dirt
floor and wondered if he could dig his way out. Weighing the option,
he decided that if he wanted out in any real time then this wouldn't
do. He rubbed his head slowly, trying to massage his brain, trying to
come up with a plan. "There may be no escaping this one Jack," he
mumbled to himself. Perhaps this was the last we'd see of ol' Captain
Jack Sparrow. Perhaps not...

**Scene change! We are now aboard the Black Pearl, waiting outside of
Tortuga where Jack went ashore and never returned. Oh, no! What will
the crew do? Cue bad suspense music. ^ ^

Anamaria looked to the drunken town waiting Jack's return. He'd told
Gibbs that the Pearl needed supplies and so, off he went for said
reason. It was mid-day when Jack had waddled his way down to the dock
and into the small port city. The last she remembered of the exotic
man, he was singing some unknown song with a loaded pistol in his hand.
Of course, that was about three days ago. Now the city had fallen dark
and drunkards littered the streets with their puke stained clothes.
"How untactful," she snapped as she fixed her straw hat. "Jack, where
are you?"

Gibbs grabbed Anamaria by the shoulder, "Jack should have been back by
now. Should we leave him? You know the code." The old man rubbed his
beard with his free hand and looked at the puzzled face of the young
lass. His hair was growing white. Putting up with that crew is what he
figured. But being a pirate could put a lot of years on a man. It was
mostly the fight against Barbossa's men all those years ago, but no
one on board could have placed it.

"Aye. I know the code." She looked out to sea once again, then back to
the town. "It's been three days..." Her black hair swayed softly across
her face as she drew her lips together. "Jack didn't mention leaving
though. What if he is still out there looking for goods?"

"But what if he's dead? We could be waiting here forever."

Anamaria nodded and looked out to the sleeping crew, "I doubt he would
be, but you do have a point. Maybe we could set sail and leave for a
few days. He knows we'll come back anyway."

"That be true. Well, I guess it is settled then. We set sail. But where
do we go?"

"We can hit up Port Royal and see how Turner is doing. I guess it'll
give us something to do until we find Jack. Right?"

Anamaria stood next to the helm, catching Cotton and his parrot's eyes.
"Alright you villainous dogs, time to set sail! Pull up the anchor and
let's ride!" She took hold of the wheel as the crew began to wake.
"Let's move or I'll throw you all over board!"

At that, the Black Pearl pulled out of the harbor and into the endless
sea with the moon lit about them.

**Another scene change! Yay! A lot of those... Um, While the Black
Pearl set off for Port Royal, Will and Elizabeth are in a lover's
spat. You can see where this is going I'm sure... BUT!!!! Oh! That
plot sickens! Big twist coming! Oh yeah! Anyway, yeah. We're in Port
Royal.

"But Will!" Elizabeth gasps as she goes after the young stud through
the door of their new home, "You can't leave! We're married and have
children for Heaven's sake!" She ran back inside quickly to hide his
sword. "Bloody pirate!"

"The bloody Hell I can't! I am a pirate, I can do whatever I want
(Think Lion King... Scar saying he's king and can do whatever he
wants...yeah). The former blacksmith slams the door behind him and
sees Elizabeth stick her head out a window on the second floor.
"Besides, all you care about is if someone finds out YOU CHEATED ON
ME! Fucking Norrington. I knew you'd do it. I saw that look in your
eyes at that ball three weeks ago. Face it Elizabeth, your lust is
insatiable. I'm not going to live like this. I'm leaving. Mark my
words: A Pirate's Life For Me!"

"Then take the kids!" she yelled, very tired and aggravated. She
swatted her hair back.

"Wench! How dare you! You would serve far better a role model than I.
I am a pirate. What would they think of that? Giving your children to
a pirate in exchange for what? NOTHING!"

"You're a blacksmith, not a pirate! You can't leave!" Her words did
not reach him, for he was long past the yard and onto the back road
to the port.

He heard glasakinaking though. He smiled to himself and told himself
right here, "It'll never be another woman. They are far too difficult
and want more then I'll ever be able to give. Curses, I forgot my
sword." He stomped off down the dirt road, paying no mind to the free
soilders standing about saying hi and whatnot.

"Oh, save your good remarks for when I'm happy damn it!" He scoffed
his hair and kicked the sand, pouting all the way.

Mr. Brown swayed, drunk, tryio sao say something to Will, "There be
someone lookin' fer ya."

Will just grunted and turned down a path leading to the back of the
town where a little cove was. That was where Brown had come from so he
figured he'd best check it out. "Maybe it's Jack!" he said to himself.
There was so much excitement and hope held in those words. "Maybe..."
