Title: Tainted Souls
Author: Reyna (Maribel)
Rating: R (violence, graphic language, child abuse) You’ve been warned!
Story plots from: Pitch Black and Resident Evil, which I own NONE!!!
Archive: Topaz only! Everyone else please ask!!!
Summary/plot: Life on the planet Belloso is tranquil.
Quiet and peace are customary.
On another side of the planet an underground bioengineering laboratory known as Genesis begins to unleash their air born chemicals on unsuspecting victims. The results; a new breed of vampires. Except that these monsters are, men, women and children anything that has been tainted by the virus.

Authors note: In this story Rain is one of my main characters. However she has never been affiliated with the Umbrella Corporation, she’s simply Rain. These next events take place a few months after they arrive in Belloso. A few months of peace and quite. Oh well so much for that! lol

Special appearance by Heidi.

Chapter 1 : Become

Rain’s POV

Its been hours since I heard anyone scream. My body feels so numb. I can’t see shit through my eyes, its like they’re covered in saran wrap. My heart feels weak, almost like I’m dying. Oh my God, please don’t let this be my death. My mother would be heartbroken. I still have to take care of my little brother and sister. Shit! What the fuck is happening to me? Every single muscle in body seems to be on fire! I can’t contain myself any longer. I break out into spasms and screech in pain. My breathing falters. This is it. I can actually feel my heartbeats slow.

babump. . , babump. . . . . . . babump . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . babump

And then nothing. My heart has stopped. Maybe my brain still hasn’t caught on to the fact. Now my lungs have given up as well. I’m suffocating and its more painful than I’d ever imagined. My eyes remain open and I’m still very much aware of my surroundings. Too aware. I can hear the screams again. Suddenly my body begins to shiver uncontrollably. I can’t feel anything but my body jerking up and down. Then I lose time. Images begin too appear; a dream maybe? Or the path to my final destination?

The dark landscape in front of me sends fear deep into my soul. A foul smell overwhelms me and I cover my nose to no avail. Its like the odor is penetrating right through my pores. The cries seem to have followed me into this nightmare. I walk further down ack sck sand colored path. Body parts are scattered around me for for some odd reason I’m not revolted by this. A river of blood runs across the land and the sky meets the water matching the color perfectly. A grim looking creature approaches me. I know that I should be worried, but I’m not. Standing tall, at about 7’, topaz eyes, claws so long they curve and his skin is leathery and black. It circles me once and gets in my face. His lips part in an evil grin, its then I realize the elongated fangs protruding from his mouth. A small gasp escapes me and it laughs; a deep, graveling, eerie cackle. My mind is spinning and I’m in a trance. Floating on air, I glide over into his arms. Our eyes meet and it’s as if I can see everything it is thinking; death and devastation live there. Unwillingly I tilt my head to the side; I can feel the blood violently rushing through my body and it takes a bite. It’s sucking the life out of me. Just when I think I’m going to pass out, it let’s me go. I fall in a heap to the ground, exhausted. The bite doesn’t even hurt at all. On the contrary, I feel a new life inside of me. I stand up and feel a rush of energy run through me. It’s intoxicating! The creature is just standing there watching me, waiting for something. I can hear low muffled sounds, they begin to get louder and louder, so loud I ‘m covering my ears. The shrieks penetrate my brain. I twist around in circles trying to find what is making the noise, but there is nothing or no one around me.

‘Become. . . . . . . ‘ is all hear over and over again. I throw my head back and scream.

I’m brought back to my room. It’s quiet, very quiet. My neck is sore and I reach to touch it, only to find a bite mark which is now closed; only a scar. I try to close my mouth and my lips get cut. I jump out of my bed and look in the mirror to see fangs. My reflection is different also, like a dream, its there, but it isn’t. My eyes, my God my eyes! They look like marble, gray and unreal. I begin to laugh at myself. Then I feel it, or better yet I don’t feel it. My heart! It’s not beating. This can’t be happening. The voice repeats in my head ‘Become’ and then it hits me like a brick. I know exactly what I am and why I am. I don’t know how I know this, but I do. I can sense someone in the next room and in a flash I’m there, smack dab in the middle of my living room. My little sister lays sprawled on the floor, unaware of me. In the distance I can hear them, one by one they are waking up. I must go to them; my children. . . but first I must feed.

To be continued. . .
