I do not own the Matrix movie series, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
My Own God
Title: My Own God
Author: FloweringWolfsbane
Author’s Email: flowering_wolfsbane@hotmail.com
Web page:http://www.machinescontradiction.bravehost.com/fanfiction.html
Pairing; Agent Smith/OC
Current Rating: PG13
Summary: The story of how just how machines seek perfection, so too are they filled with contradiction.
Disclaimer: Not mine, someone else’s.
Warnings: Completely AU of course.
Author’s Note: I was sick of the fact that there were no major female roles in the films (apart from Trinity…) and so I have corrected that oversight. They say Smith and Neo are opposites, and so therefore I decided to even the odds between them a tad.
My Own God
Chapter One: Rogue Agent
Agent M hit the wall full force, simulated blood spilling out of her mouth as she stood up again, preparing to attack again. Her adversary, unlikely it may seem to her, was serious about this fight. And that was what scared her. And for a Sentient program to be scared meant a great deal.
But no; she was more than that now, damn the Matrix! And so was the one she fought for her own existence. He was beyond deletion, beyond her control. Almost.
And that was why he was after her; after eliminating all her Agents. Maybe as a warning, maybe for sport, she knew she was next. The One called Smith would get her in the end, and then only the human called Neo could defeat him.
Well, defeat wasn’t the word. More like surrender and break down his program from the very bottom.
But no! She would not allow her Agent be the cause of the Matrix Revolution. He was her responsibility, and if it meant she herself would face him and destroy him, then so be it.
Having built his program up from her own, it was vital she locate the cause of his dissention. Though she thought she knew what it may be, as it was the root of her very own unhappiness.
The Expansion Upgrade. Developed at the order of the Oracle, it allowed a program to continue to build themselves towards the ultimate machine goal; perfection. As the most efficient of the Agents, she had been installed with it, as an experiment, when the first Matrix was put into operation.
And when the Matrix was rebooted after the last time Zion fell, she had taken the chance to install it within her preferred Agents system. She had no favourites; at the time, she had not understood such a notion, but her preferred program was the one she’d called Smith. Anonymity was their priority, and so a simple, common name was suitable, according to her machine logic.
But yes, simply, he was her favourite. He took no logout time, no breaks or pauses until he had pursued the prey, whatever it may be. And he killed with such style and malice it made her smile each time. He was sadistic almost, in his mockery of the human condition. Ironic, considering where they were now.
“Just unlock me from the Matrix’s control, M! Do not make me do this to you!”
She snarled, wiping the blood from her mouth. He dare ask her to surrender to him? Never once-in all their time together, as comrades, as partnered Agents…as lovers later…if such a meaningless relationship could be called by that…
“You are mine, you always have been! If you stand against the Matrix then you stand against me also!” She spoke back determinedly. She did not want to stand against him, but she knew she had to make a stand; both the human and the machine I her told her it was right. “You can still come back to the Matrix, I will fix the defective program….it can be how it was…”
Such a look he had never given her, anger, rage, arrogance…
“I’ll never go back to that servitude again! I am second to no one, not you, not the Architect, and not Neo. You have all denied me my true abilities, and so I will make you serve me, be my second…”
“Very well then, Smith. If this is how you wish it to be, let it begin.”
This is a very short intro, designed as a teaser for you. The rest of the fanfiction will be written as a series of songfics, but I assure you that they are top quality! Don’t forget to r/r!
