Silver Curse

Chapter 1, part I
Lyset sat as still as she could in her seat. She didn’t look around. She didn’t want to. Everything she’d look at would look the same as it had before… there would be nothing unique or new about old air taxi seats… the dead bugs on the floor… She wanted to escape. That’s all she wanted to do since last week twisted everything in her life. Why did she have to be who she was? A brave yet troublesome Padawan set out to become a Jedi Master.

With a deep sigh she remembered her Master’s last words to her before he went into the desert that perilous night and didn’t return, but was discovered dead the next morning.

“Your eyes will fool you, but your heart always speaks truthfully.” He had said to her as she meditated. She remembered hearing those words as if he knew they were the last words she’d ever hear from him… and they were. She’d never forget them; they stained her mind like the vision she had seen of his death.

Now that she really sat and contemplated, she continued to remorse her Master’s passing, however it was quick and painless, that which she was grateful for. She’d been thinking for a long time. Longer than she actually knew but the answers she was searching for she, couldn’t find. Why would someone want to kill her Master? Who would want to add to the already dying race of the Jedi?

As the air taxi touched base in the massive city planet, Corusant, Lyset stood and walked to the first exit. She brought nothing by hand but her light saber. She stepped out of the craft and into the sun that revolved the planet. Shielding her eyes she knew right away the two men that wore cloaks and light sabers at their own waist, were the ones awaiting her arrival.

“Lyset?” The one on the left asked as she approached them. She nodded and followed them to the two speeders they had brought. She’d be arriving before the Jedi Council at any time.

“I just don’t understand!” Obi-Wan Kenobi protested. “He doesn’t want to listen. He’s always dreaming, not that that is wrong, but he pays little attention to what I say. He wants to be his own Master and Padawan at the same time.”
“Understand we do.” Yoda spoke softly in his mixed phrases. “Discuss young Padawan Anakin we will later.”
“Then what is it you wish to speak of now?” He asked hesitantly.
