Dark Love
Chapter One: Homecoming
Captain Storm Galactica made her way through the halls of the Jedi Temple. She was accompanied by her father, General Teepu Galactica, founding leader of the Galactic Bounty Hunters. She was summoned by the Jedi Council and had no idea the reason. She had just returned to Coruscant from the Sith Wars after five years of active duty and had successfully led her troops and ship, The Epsilon, to the fall and destruction of the Sith. Since returning home, she was bombarded by citizens, generals, commanders, Jedi, and Senators, and even the Queen, who all congratulated her. She had been featured on Coruscant News and everything. Usually, she would be flattered by the attention she was getting, but after five years of fighting a deadly war, all she wanted was peace and quiet. She stood in front of the tall, wooden doors to the room where the Jedi Council met. Two Coruscant soldiers, who stood in front of the doors, nodded to her father and proceeded to open the doors. She walked in with every inch of dignity showing throughout her stance. She and her father approached the Council and bowed.
“Happy we are to have you here young Galactica as you General Galactica. Fine daughter you have raised.” said Yoda.
“Why thank you Master Yoda.” General Galactica nodded his head and smiled down at his daughter.
“I am most honored to be in your presence Master Jedi. I can’t help but wonder why you all have sent for me.” Storm said. She wished they said what they had to say and let her go. All she could think about was getting back to her Quarters and getting some much needed and earned sleep. Her eyes went immediately to one Master whom she hoped to stay clear from.
“We are very proud of you Storm. You have successfully defeated the Sith and in your honor we are throwing a banquet tonight.” Said Master Anakin Skywalker. He smiled a deadly smile that only she noticed.
“With all due respect Master Skywalker….I can not attend the banquet.”
“Oh?” he said with a raised eyebrow.
“I have just returned from a very painful and tiresome mission. I, nor my body, is ready to be in the midst of people right now. I’m sure you, of all people understand that Master Skywalker.”
Anakin stared at Storm with a smirk on his full lips. He watched as her body trembled under his glare and felt her heart skip a beat. He knew he was getting to her and enjoying every moment of it. She was coming to the banquet. He felt it. And he will make it his top priority to get her alone….in the dark. They had much catching up to do.
“She will be there Master Skywalker, I will be sure of it.” General Galactica spoke up.
“Good, this is. Your absence, we will hate to see.” Yoda said, shaking his head.
Storm turned her head to her father. How dare he?! She wanted nothing more than to be at peace. She wanted to say to Sith Hell with the banquet and walk off, but she knew her father would have none of it; besides, she had too much respect for the Jedi Council and her father…which was slowly deteriorating away at the moment.
Storm, along with her father, bowed to the Council and briskly left. On the way to the speeder, Storm glared at her father.
“You know, if you continue to make that face, it will stick like that.” Her father said in amusement.
“I do not find this amusing father. I wanted to rest tonight, not gallivant at some banquet. I am much too tired for this foolishness.”
“Yes, I know that my dear, but you have to come to this banquet.” Teepu stopped his daughter by the arm. “Storm, please. Come tonight. It would mean so much to me.”
Storm looked into her father’s eyes. She hated when he did that. He was a rugged, muscular man, but had the sweetest, kindest heart. “Okay.” She sighed deeply. “Fine, I’ll go.”
