A FURYON’S MATE

Set 2 years after the Chronicles of Riddick. The Necromonger’s are destroyed by Riddick and he is caught by mercs and sent back to Slam with no desire to escape and run anymore. Little does he know what adventure awaits him as one of the few Alpha male Furyon’s left.

Chapter 1

She walked calmly to the center of the room and turned to face a group of men and women who gathered there. She was petite in size but something about the way she carried herself told anyone that she was a force to be reckoned with. She looked to be in her mid twenties with a toned body covered in creamy white skin. Her long dark hair was tightly braided and hung down past her waist. Her most beautiful feature though, what drew people to stare at her, men and women alike, were her eyes. They were a soft blue that seemed to transcend to her soul. When caught in the light just right they emitted a glow that could captivate the most hardened personality.

The onlookers gasp in disbelief at her features. A man dressed in especially long flowing robes with gold accents stepped forward and bowed to her, then stood and turned to look at the others.

“My fellow council, I would like to introduce you to Alexis.”

The members stilled themselves and then one by one bowed to her.

Alexis watched the men and women pay her tribute. She knew the task set forth before her was a hard one, but it was one she intended to succeed at.

The man in the elaborate robes turned to her and smiled while taking one of her hands in his gently.

“My dear Alexis. It seems you are chosen by all to be the savior of our people. Do you accept this challenge?”

Alexis, keeping her eyes on the large group while the man spoke to her, turns her gaze to him when he finished.

“I do accept this challenge Master Talin. I will succeed and I will bring him home.”

With that the group of men and women gave a collective sigh and bowed to her again as they left the room.

Master Talin gave Alexis a heartfelt smile. “Let me walk them out and I will be back to give you the final details of your quest.”

Alexis smiled back and nodded letting go of his hand. He walks out of the room following the group and she heard their good-byes and their wishes for a safe return for her.

Looking around the room she spotted a large mirror that was casting her reflection. She thought back to her teen years when her biggest concern was which shirt went with which pants and what music she wanted to listen too. Now she seems so far away from that time as though it was another life.

“Thinking my dear?” Master Talin entered the room again and saw her looking in the mirror.

Turning to him she smiled at him. “Just thinking about simpler times, that’s all.”

He moved across the floor to her and picked up both of her hands. “You understand your objective Alexis? You know what you need to do, no matter what the circumstances?”

Alexis nods in assurance that she knows what she must do.

He continues talking to her while looking in her eyes for any hint of confusion or not being ready. “We have found the man. He is located in a prison, called a Slam. It is a very dark and defiling place. Only the most dangerous of criminals are sent there to live out their days. I urge you to be careful, even though I know you will be fine. Do what you must, get in and get out. We have secured your new identity. You are being sent there for multiple murders. We have procured a Mercenary ship to pick you up and take you to the correct facility. Anything you have to do to survive don’t hesitate. There will be no repercussions from the council for anything you may have to do while on this mission. Do you understand?”

Alexis nods again with no sign of fear or regret for taking on this challenge.

“Very well then Alexis, go to the transport ship. You will be taken to Earth and staying at the Crownmont Hotel. The mercenaries will be told where you are staying.”

She smiled at him and then in a sudden jump wrapped her arms around him and hugged him tight.

“I won’t let you down father, I promise.”

He hugged her back and kissed her cheek. “I know you’ll succeed child, now go.”

Alexis gave him a quick kiss and quickly turned and walked out of the room and towards the transport bay.
