Summary: Obi-Wan finds out about Anakin and Padme, Anakin learns the truth

He was a Jedi Master, and his former padawan was quickly becoming the most renowned Jedi in all the systems. Hero With No Fear they called him, Anakin Skywalker, the stuff of legend. Strong willed, intelligent, handsome and fearless. Obi- Wan Kenobi was himself a highly regarded Jedi, the Negotiator he had come to be known. There was no situation he could not, or would not try to handle diplomatically. They were a team, Skywalker and Kenobi, two halves making one whole, friends, more than friends…

One might take Obi- Wan for much older, today especially. He quietly held his head in his hands, his face looking as if it were aged with the weight of the world. He was deep in thought, as was the norm for Obi- Wan. Today, though, today was different. His mind was filled with what he was sure was doubt?

No, not doubt.

This feeling, that even he was unsure of was hanging over him like a dark cloud. It was around his whole being. There seemed to be a disruption of the force, a change was coming. An outsider might say that it was just his mind playing tricks on him, that he was just tired. He and Anakin had just returned from a grueling five months fighting the Clone Wars, they had only been back on Coruscant for less that a day, he just needed time. Yes, this is what they would say. Perhaps he should relax, they would say, meditate.

Quietly his thoughts came to Qui-Gon, his fallen Master and how he could have used his wisdom at a time like this. Qui-Gon would have guided him. Would have helped him relax. Would have, well, loved him. Yes, he would have loved him, and held him and made him feel like everything was okay.

How he missed his Master at times like these. He lost him so long ago, yet at times the wound felt so fresh, the loss still so strong. Yoda would say “let go you must, Master Kenobi”, and Obi-Wan would eventually will it so, but there was always a part of him that would be afraid to let go. He could still hear Qui Gon’s voice, still feel his touch, still sense him…

Anakin walked through the door of their shared quarters, with a bounce in his step. He almost looked flushed. And was that a smile on his face? Obi-Wan searched Anakin’s face, trying to use the Force to hear his thoughts, but Anakin was quite well shielded.

“My young friend, are you well? You look feverish” He asked, knowing quite well the probable reason for the feverish look.

Another cloud came rushing over Obi Wan.

No, not doubt. Jealousy.

Come on, Kenobi, jealousy? Really? Not exactly Jedi like behavior, Obi-Wan thought to himself.
Certainly not of their former radians and his lady friend!

They are married. He heard in a whisper on the wind. It was Qui-Gon. What? he thought. A Jedi shall know no love, certainly not marriage! No, he and Padme were friends, just friends. Friends who knew it would be wrong to indulge, friends who…were married!

Suddenly, Obi-Wan caught an image of Anakin and Padme. Anakin had let his shield down for a moment and was staring blankly into space with a sly smile on his lips. He was remembering her lips her touch, her words of desire, her eagerness. Obi-Wan saw it clear as day. He became almost enraged.

“Anakin”, he said sharply, pulling his friend out of his dreamlike state. “How could you? How…” he paused, “could you?” It is all he could say, all he could think as he turned and stormed out of the room, out of their quarters. Anakin watched, at first horrified and confused, but then slightly amused.

“Huh?” Anakin said, a smile crossing his lips.
