Life begins with a touch of Death; Death begins with Life's first breath. Never a breath more could ever be as honest, could be as hauntingly fitting. Thunder bellowed in the distance as rain whirled from the obsidian sky, a tremor within the Force quaked causing Fiera to become frozen, statue-like. A deep, untouchable bond had been formed with her husband and no one could be asunder what took years to build between she and Serpent. Now, the Marzullo could not pinpoint his presence through the Force...could not connect on any level. And it was then Itala's voice wrecked the entire life of the Darksider, marking this day a pivotal even forever within Fiera and the unborn's life.

"Congratulations are in order, Mara. It seemed you did our family a favor by killing that worthless subhuman in-law."

Replaying over and over like a broken hologram, those words etched into Fiera's memory to never be erased or ignored. An undescribable pain scoured throughout the blonde's body, azure eyes widening to their full capacity; a viscous liquid pooled beneath her feet from her body, signaling the beginning stages of labor. Being led reluctantly to the infirmary by her brothers, Neo and Kannon, Fiera wanted to die, wanted to forget about the unborn child of Serpent. Both siblings did everything in their power to comfort and console their eldest sister, none of them quite understanding that bond between both Darksiders. Neither approved of Serpent but he adored their sister and cared for her, willing to give his own life for hers. Tears streamed down porcelain cheeks as choked sobs broke the deafening silence, gut wrenching aches tearing through the emotionally and physically wrecked body.

Guiding her onto a delivery table, Fiera had been prepped for delivery, her pants tattered apart and discarded into a pile as the Marzullo's body left no room for time as the contractions began to grow. Krishna, family doctor and cousin of the trio, wiped a cloth against tender flesh to blot away the beads of sweat encroaching upon Fiera's forehead. There had been no joy in this day, the day of her daughter's birth...nothing to make this special. For months, Fiera and Serpent prepared for their child's arrival, both thanking their god for such a blessing to aide their family's growth and cause. Now, she damned Sol...damned her family.

"You have to push, Fiera!"

"No."

"If you don't she will die. Serpent's child will die. She's your connection to him even after his death. Now quit being stubborn and push!"

Those words swirled around Fiera's ears, leaving an emptiness within. Krishna had been right, the unborn child was her only connect to Serpent now; if she died, that connection would be severed as well. Propping up their sister up, Neo and Kannon held onto Fiera's hands and offered words of encouragement knowing how much this child really meant to her...to Serpent. With feet pressed firmly against the bed, Fiera clutched down upon her siblings' hands and began to push. The feeling of pain was excruiating - she could feel herself beginning to rip, the aching in her hips suggesting that they were breaking or moving apart, more viscid liquid seeping from her body with hints of iron which could only suggest bleeding had taken place. Though minutes seemed like neverending hours, the cries of a newborn broke through the screams of Fiera, Krishna proudly presenting the girl to her cousin. Azure orbs squinted as they tried to focus, gurgled cries ceased once the newborn babe had set her sights upon her mother. Gingerly embracing the tiny body into her arms, Fiera had begun to cry as she looked into the eyes of her husband's child.

"So, Fiera what are you going to name her?"

"I think I shall named her something Serpent would like. I think, she shall be named Zoe."
