Author’s notes
This story contains some characters and places from Lorna’s fic, AVP Night of the hunt, which I received permission that I could use. It is set 25 years later. I have also edited and added some things to the story to make it more reader friendly.

(NC-17) M/F Violence, Lang
Summary: Will the aid from an ally help save Planet Ruen from war or send her into darkness?

Chapter 1

The ship roared through the haze that surrounded Planet Dosa known as Sin’s place.
Myx looked back to see Shadow sleeping or resting he really could not tell since the Yautja was wearing his helmet.

“Shadow we will be there in two minutes.”

There was no response from the Yautja as Rito landed the craft 2 miles from the massive black structure called the Death house. Sensitive beams designed to set off the grounded spikes if disturbed, littered the grounds surrounding the structure. The spikes contained a poison that paralyzed you long enough for the guards to return you to your cell.

The lightening flashed across the sky and thunder shook the ground as Shadow walked from the ship followed by the helmeted pilots Myx and Rito. Rain began to fall upon them and the temperature suddenly dropped ten degrees as a thick haze began to descend from the sky above and cover the ground before them.

Once they reached the large black gates of the Death house they were subjected to a scan from the inside computer.

“You are early Shadow.”

“Gar’net has requested my presence after I finish this transport.”

“Stand by.”

There was silence in the communication and then the gates opened and the beams crisscrossing the field shutdown. The keeper of the Death house and four of his armed guards came out to meet Shadow and the two pilots.

“We have already prepped the prisoner for transport.” The keeper walked beside Shadow as he talked.

“We didn’t tell him you were coming for him.”

Palen sat in his cell with his hands bound before him and two guards outside his door.

“What is this I’m not due to leave here until the next full moon?”

The guards were silent with their backs to him. Palen chuckled at them he could still kill them even if his hands were bound. He moved slowly towards them. He would take their blades and slit their throats. He reached out his bound hands and slowly pulled one of the guards knife from the sheath.

The black door leading to Palen’s section of the house slid open. He watched the keeper walk in and then he saw his worse fear following him. Palen stumbled back onto the floor and scooted to the corner of the cell.

The keeper smiled. “Palen this is your keeper now.”

Shadow walked to the front of the cell the guards opened the door. Palen was visibly shaking with fear as Shadow entered. He released Palen from his bonds, grabbed him by the white prison shirt they wore, and stood Palen to his feet.

“Palen you are ordered by the High Court to stand trail for the murders of four families. You will comply with all of my commands and you will remain silent throughout this transport. Is that understood?” He finished with a menacing growl.

The read out of his body temperature was reaching critical levels and his breathing was quick and short. He nodded and Shadow gave him to Myx as he walked from the cell.

“I will inform The Elder Th’or you will be arriving in an hour’s time.”

Shadow nodded to the keeper and shoved Palen along as they headed out of the unnaturally quiet house. Most of the prisoners hid in their cell and remained silent as Shadow walked through. He had put most of them in this house.

Shadow and his group disappeared in the gray haze that surrounded the prison once outside the black gate.

“Let your journey be swift and safe Warrior of Darkness.”

Young Adam ran through the halls of the ship barely avoiding the surprised and angry Yautja that came in his path. He reached the sparring room to see his sister Alia finishing her practice session.

“You said you’d wait.” He spoke in the Ooman language when they were alone.

“I did for thirty minutes. Alia smiled down at her little brother.

Adam sat on the floor folding his arms across his chest and pouting.

Alia sighed. “Okay I’ll do it again.”

Adam smiled at her.

Alia was the only one of Lia’kon’s offspring to look like Lex. She had brown colored skin and strange purple colored eyes. Most loved being around Alia; her father thought far too many males loved it.

Adam watched memorizing every move that Lee had taught his sister. She was his favorite because she looked like their mother. The door opened again and Aker’ra and De’el walked into the sparring room to see Lia’kon’s scantily clad daughter practicing and her 10-year-old brother watching.

Aker’ra watched the Elder’s son walk into the room towards Alia. She stopped and looked up at De’el with a question.

“Is this a new war dress?”

It was a black bra like top and some short black material as a loincloth tied at her right hip. She moved her long black ponytail behind her shoulder and tried to control her breathing.

“No the other material irritates my skin.” She mimicked the sounds of the mandible spikes clicking together to communicate with him.

“Such delicate skin should be taken care of with oils and scents.”

Adam growled at De’el. Aker’ra chuckled and ruffled his hair. De’el moved aside as Alia walked by to retrieve her black robe. She was studying under Bay in medicine.

“Elder Gar’net wishes to see you.” Aker’ra purred at her.

Alia nodded and grabbed her brother’s hand and followed Aker’ra. De’el watched her leave.

“You shouldn’t growl at those 4 times bigger than you Adam.”

Adam crinkled his brow. “He wants to touch you and Mother said that he is not to be trusted.”

Alia smiled. “Don’t worry young Adam. I’ll give him a matching scar if he ever tries anything.”

Adam smiled up at her. Aker’ra chuckled at her.

“Do you think she is a good choice for this Gar’net?” Del’ne questioned.

“She is an excellent speaker in the Ooman language. I have heard her correct her mother and she looks like an Ooman. False’s communication said that the Ooman’s were threatening to bring their warships unless the one who murdered was caught. She could calm the situation and allow Shadow to investigate with more freedom.”

“Shadow has agreed to this.” Ashe growled.

Gar’net looked at his loyal General. “I know he is not trusting of Oomans but he does visit False on many occasions since most of his prey is pulled from that Planet. I am hoping that his friendship with False will prove stronger than his distrust for Oomans.”

The doors opened and Aker’ra moved aside and Alia walked in. Adam smiled at her and ran off again to Alia’s dismay. The Elders stood as she walked in the room.

“Please sit young Alia.” Gar’net began. Alia sat.

“We have something to ask of you of the utmost importance. The lives of those on Planet Ruen depend upon you.”

“You wish me to go there. My parents agreed?”

“Yes but you will not be going alone.”

Alia looked at the Elder Gar’net with a raised eyebrow. “Who will be going with me?”

“Shadow”

Alia sat back in the chair as if she had been given the worse news of her life.
