White and Black Pearls - Ten Pearl Strand - Prologue

Author’s Note: The chapters are a little slower going as of late, so forgive any delays in updates. Also, please be aware for those that have stumbled upon this story, that it is the third in a series, and it really wouldn’t make much sense if you started off here, nor would I advise it. You’d be best to read part one here http://movies.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600091111 and part two here http://movies.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600091118 before moving on to this, part three. Thank you! As always, I would love to hear from you, email me at wingsofdirt at gmail.com with questions, comments, suggestions etc or comment here! Thanks. –Wing

Prologue

“Pintel?” Ragetti called out with concern in his voice.

“Over here,” Pintel hissed from behind a slender palm tree that didn’t hide his girth very well.

“What’s happening!” Ragetti blurted weakly in the best whisper he could manage while so high-strung. “Where have they all gone?”

“I don’t… know…” his friend replied, while peeking out from behind the tree. He looked over at Ragetti and concern flashed on his face, but it was quickly outshone with self-preserving fright. “I wanna get off this bloody island!”

“Me too!”

They looked at each other for all of another two seconds before both men broke out into a run, bolting through the sandy underbrush of the island and heading towards the shore where the boat was waiting.

Unfortunately, the two didn’t even manage to get that far; a fierce wind picked up yet again, and a pair of coconuts dislodged from the trees, cracking each of them on the backs of the skulls and sending them right into the sand, knocked out cold. The wind continued to blow, kicking up dry branches and leaves, until both of the newest bodies added to the count of those forcibly neutralized disappeared to the untrained eye, camouflaged and covered completely.

No more conscious bodies wandered above ground on the island as Celeste appeared on the beach. She dusted herself off, getting some of the sand out of the folds of her dress, before moving up the beach steadily and towards the very same opening her sister and Barbossa had entered minutes before. Before she disappeared down the hole however, she paused and looked up at the sky, her brow creasing with obvious concern as she looked at the sun which was dipped low in the sky. On the other side of the horizon the moon was rising, faint and barely visible right now but waiting for its chance to shine as soon as the sun was down.

Celeste touched the pearls in her hair tensely for a moment before disappearing down into the opening.
