Revelations

Mara sighed as she began massaging her neck. She looked out at the blur of stars from the captain's chair aboard her pride and joy; JADE'S FIRE. She was currently on her way to Yavin IV to see her friend, Luke Skywalker.

After nearly ten years, she still couldn't believe she had almost killed him. Even when she was hearing Palpatine's voice telling her to kill the Jedi, she couldn't bring herself to do it. Looking back, she was glad she was able to fight the hold the Emperor had over her.

Her and Luke were now best friends. They had a Force bond, which allowed them to know if the other was hurt or in trouble. Over the years, that bond had grown stronger. Recently however, she had begun to feel more than just friendship toward the Jedi Master.

'Oh who in Sith's sakes are you fooling Jade? You're head over heels in love with him. Why else would you be flying all the way out to Yavin IV to surprise him?' she thought as she brought her ship out of hyperspace. She smiled softly was she spotted the planet Yavin.

Luke stood on his balcony over looking the academy and jungle behind it. He was quite proud of his work on the academy. He turned and walked back into his apartment. When he wasn't on some mission for the New Republic, he divided his time between Yavin IV and visiting his family on Corusant.

Leia and Han had been married for nearly twelve years now. They had three wonderful children, the twins Jacen and Jaina, and Anakin the youngest. Luke adored his niece and nephews. Lately though whenever he was around them, he found himself longing to settle down and begin a family of his own. He thought he would have that chance with Callista. Till she left him. He turned on some music as he grabbed a cold drink from his cooling unit.

'I'm beginning to wonder if I'm meant to have the love and family that Han and Leia have. Every woman I have had a relationship with has left me for some reason or another. Well, except Mara.' he sighed.

Luke looked up when he heard the chime from his door. He rose to his feet and walked over to the door. He was sure it was either a student or instructor with some question for him. That seemed to be the extent of his visitors these days.

“Mara! What are you doing here?” he asked in shock.

“Hello to you too Farmboy.” she teased.

“I'm sorry. Please, come in.” he said. Mara just chuckled as she walked past him. “I'm glad to see you.” he smiled.

“You are? Even though I did drop by uninvited and unannounced?” she questioned as she faced him.

“Yes.” he nodded.

The two just stood there, finally taking in each other's appearance. It had been a few months since they last saw each other. Mara then noticed that Luke wasn't wearing his usual tunic. She admired his tanned and well toned upper body. Years as a pilot for the Rebellion and Jedi training had done wonders for him.

Luke took in the beautiful red headed woman standing in front of him. For once, she wasn't wearing a flight suit or her training clothes like she normally did. Today she was wearing a dress of soft green material that matched her fiery eyes.

“Care for something to drink?” he offered.

“Sure. I'll have whatever you're having.” she answered.

Mara sat on the sofa while Luke fixed her a drink, the music relaxing her. She nodded her thanks when Luke handed her the cup. For several minutes, the two sat in a comfortable silence. Both lost in their thoughts as they covertly studied each other.

'By the Force. How could I have not seen it sooner. The woman I've been looking for has been right in front of me all this time.' Luke wondered as he looked at Mara sitting beside him.

'I wonder what he'd do if I just said what I'm feeling? In the past, being blunt has always been the best way to go.' Mara thought as she sipped her drink.

“How have you been Jade?” he asked.

“Pretty good. Trying to stay out of trouble. Trading's good though. What about you?” she replied.

“Can't complain. At least I haven't been on any missions lately.” he shrugged.

“That explains why I haven't had to come get you out of some scrap Skywalker.” she teased.

“I don't always get into trouble.” he argued.

“Sure. Keep telling yourself that. I've lost count of how many times I've had to pull your ass out of the fire.” she laughed. Luke just grumbled. This caused Mara to start laughing even harder. Within minutes Luke's baritone laughter joined her. Mara and Luke turned and looked at each other.

Slowly their laughter died. They sat there, eyes locked. Luke reached over and took her glass from her and sat it next to his on the table in front of them. He then gently brushed the back of his hand against her cheek.

Mara's eyes fluttered closed as she nuzzled her cheek against his hand. When she opened her eyes, she found something glittering in his blue depths that she couldn't read.

“Luke.” she whispered.

“Mara, how could I have been so blind?” he said softly.

Before she could respond, he leaned foreword and gently pressed his lips to hers. Instantly, she felt her blood ignite. She surrendered to the kiss, the feelings swirling within her, and the man kissing her. Mara sighed as she slid her fingers through Luke's sandy blond hair.

Luke groaned as he deepened the kiss and pulled her tighter against him. As her nails grazed his scalp, he felt his desire flare up and mingle with Mara's desire for him. Through their bond, he could feel what she felt. He instantly sent his own feelings through to her. Slowly, he lowered her to the sofa, using his arms to rest above her.

“Luke.” she sighed as he moved his lips over her exposed neck.

“Oh Mara. Tell me to stop.” he whispered as their eyes locked once more.

“Please Luke. Don't stop. I don't know why, but I feel as if I've waited for this moment, for you, all my life.” she said.

Luke got to his feet. Before Mara could question him, he bent down and gathered her into his arms. He entered his bedroom and gently placed her back on her feet. Mara slid her hands up his chest, feeling him shiver at her touch.

“I realized when you got here that you've who I've been waiting for. I must have loved you for years, but never saw it.” he declared as he cradled her face in his hands.

“Then we were both blind Farmboy. I love you Luke Skywalker.” she smiled as she locked her arms around his neck.

“All that time we wasted denying what our hearts already knew.” he sighed.

“Well, we can only go foreword. Things were meant to happen the way they did. Now, finish what you started Jedi.” she insisted.

Luke smiled as he captured her lips. This kiss was heated and full of unleashed passion. As the kiss wore on, he moved them toward the bed. When her legs bumped the edge, he eased her down onto the mattress.

“You are a bit overdressed Jade.” he smirked.

“So are you Farmboy.” she smiled.

They untangled themselves from each other. As Mara reached up to slide the straps of her dress down, Luke stopped her. With their eyes firmly locked, he replaced her hands with his and slid the straps down her arms.

Once her arms were free of the straps, she reached out and took hold of his belt. With nimble fingers, she undid the silver clasp. After she finished that, she went to work on his trousers. The whole time they undressed each other, their eyes stayed focused on each others. Finally they were naked. It was only then they took in each other's bodies.

“You're perfect Mara.” he gasped.

“I was thinking the same thing about you.” she breathed.

Luke kissed her fiercely as he laid her back down onto the mattress. Mara moaned as she felt his body brush against her. Electricity shot through them both as the kiss wore on.

“Please Luke. No more waiting.” she pleaded.

“No more waiting.” he agreed.

Luke stood at his window smiling as sunlight washed over Mara. She looked so beautiful with her hair fanned out on his pillow beneath her. Quietly, he moved to the bed. Laying on his side, he kissed her tenderly.

“Mmm. You sure know how to wake a girl up Farmboy.”

“You're the only woman I would wake with a kiss.”

Mara felt her heart swell at his words. She sighed blissfully as he moved her back into his arms. Luke kissed the top of her head as he leaned against his headboard and felt her arms encircle his waist.

“Mara, what do you want?” he asked.

“You. I only want you.” she answered.

“You have me Mara Jade. You have all of me.” he smiled.

“Would you do something for me if I asked you?” she questioned.

“Anything my love.” he said as he looked into her glittering eyes.

“Marry me Luke.”

“I’ll marry you right now if that’s what you want.”

Han laughed as he sat back on the sofa. He had just turned off the comlink when his beloved wife entered their apartment. She sat beside her husband and kissed his cheek.

“What’s so funny husband mine?” she inquired.

“I just received a communication from Luke.” he replied.

“And? What did he say?” she insisted.

“Looks like we have a new sister-in-law. An hour ago, he and Mara Jade got married.” he chuckled.

“It’s about time they got their act together. Of course I would have loved to have been there, but eloping suits them.” she smiled.

“He did say they would be coming here in two weeks.” he added.

“Then we will have a quite family dinner to celebrate.” she said.

Luke held his new wife in his arms as they stood on the balcony staring at the stars. He still couldn’t believe that he and Mara were now married. He sighed happily and held her a little tighter.

*What’s on your mind husband?*

*Just getting used to the fact that you’re my wife.*

*Having regrets?*

“No.” Luke smiled as Mara turned in his arms.

He leaned down and kissed her. Mara’s arms slid up his chest and around his neck. Luke swept her into his arms and re-entered their apartment. The newly weds held their own celebration in the bedroom. Celebrating their new life…Together.
