After the Angel-Prolouge
A dark figure wandered aimlessly through the caverns underneath the newly repaired and rebuilt Paris Opera House. His black suit and cape looked as though they were once expensive and well made but were now filthy and appeared to have been slept in more than once. The man's skin was fair but the circles around his midnight blue eyes were so dark they seemed bruised. A white mask covered half of his attractive face while his dark hair was disheveled and in desperate need of a wash. One strong and slender hand encased in black leather clutched a diamond engagement ring. "Why Christine? Why did you leave me alone like this? Why? Why?" His deep voice was rough and mournful. "If only you could see me now. See what you've done to me. You've turned the infamous Phantom of the Opera in to a mere ghost of himself. You left me alone and took my music with you. My two greatest passions gone from me in a night. One single horrendous night. Oh Christine why couldn't you love me? What does that boy have for you? What could he have that I do not? That stupid ignorant boy." He continued to wander and wallow in his despair as he had for months. As he had ever since the night when she left him.
