A Brother's Bloody Embrace
Disclaimer: I do not own Perfect Creature, nor do I profit from any of these writings.
Author’s wee little note that no one reads: Here is an attempt at something a little deeper then two guys having hot sloppy sex together (not that that isn’t AWESOME!) I’m just trying out a little bit more emotion and I hope you like it^^. Please tell me if I make any mistakes story wise, in grammar, spelling, word choice, anything! Spot something and I’ll try to fix it.
I also have to say that there are probably massive problems plot-wise because 1) with my awesome author power I am overlooking the fact that Edgar is infected and so im throwing the whole rest of the movie out of whack. 2) I was half asleep during the movie so I may have made a few mistakes due to lack of attention…
Summary: What if Edgar never was infected? What then would be his reason for killing?
A Brother’s Bloody Embrace
by Pontaloon Master
Silus scoured the city tirelessly, weaving in and out of filthy alleys and winding roads which littered the slum named Jamestown. Even as a thick fog set in, a tell tale sign that rain was not far behind, he persevered.
He had just rounded another corner, one which to any human would have seemed no different from the others, when he sensed something. He was not quite sure what it was that he felt but after days of seemingly endless search he was not willing to take any chances. He opened his mind, letting his overly-developed abilities reach out. An invisible wave of awareness caressed the buildings surrounding him scrupulously yet in a way that was almost gentle. It was as if he were trying to coerce his surroundings into revealing it’s secrets. He heard the wind wisp past an open door, causing in to creak. He tasted the moisture in the air, cementing his earlier suspicions of the imminent downpour. He smelled…
“Blood” Silus said to himself.
He looked upwards suddenly and that was when he spotted a cloaked figure. The vampire had just caught sight of it before it had time to hide itself behind the tower it had just climbed up. Without hesitation, the black haired man followed. He knew who he was chasing which also meant that he knew if he did not act now he would lose his chance at rescuing his brother.
“Edgar!” he yelled after his kin.
Silus scaled the tower’s built-in ladder with a speed no mortal could ever possess. He reached the top within a matter of minutes and soon he was in pursuit of the sniggering figure he had eyed. The vampires leapt from roof to roof, with Silus rapidly gaining on Edgar, but every time he got close enough to graze his fingers across the man’s trench coat, said man would switch directions on a dime. It obviously was nothing more then a game to him, giving him hope at finally accomplishing his mission, then snatching it away right from under the elder’s nose.
However it was no game. Human lives were at stake and Silus couldn’t take the taunting any longer. At the next chance he got, he leapt forth and tackled the younger man. The shingling of the house they stood on was in disrepair and subsequently held many holes so when the two grown men fell to what they thought was solid floor, the roofing collapsed.
They landed heavily onto the dusty hardwood underneath. It had obviously not been treaded on in ages. The two did not have to worry about disturbing the people living in this uninhabited house. That thought; however, never crossed their minds as they had other things to deal with at the moment.
“You are to return to the church with me this instant” Silus stated from his position on top of his brother.
As soon as they had landed, he had taken advantage of the opportunity to immobilize the rogue vampire by putting his legs on either side if his torso and pinning his wrists above his head.
“What’s the matter brother?” Edgar tilted his head to the side, bearing his throat as a sign of submission yet giving the gesture a sarcastic flare by quirking his lips up into a smirk. “Didn’t like our little game?”
“It is no longer a game when you kill seven people Edgar!” he scolded.
“So six would have made it alright then?” he said cheekily.
“Edgar…” he sighed.
He brought his hand up to rub his tired eyes, no longer worrying that his charge would escape. He did not know how to explain it, but he just knew that, running away now would be bad sportsmanship in his baby brother’s eyes.
“Brother, what is it?” this time the blond’s question belied his worry. He had never intended to cause pain to the only person he had ever loved and who had ever loved him. “Is it no longer amusing?” he partially wiggled out from under him until he was in a sitting position. He then brought a dirty hand to touch the exasperated man’s cheek.
“No it is no longer amusing! It has never been amusing to kill innocents! We are their protectors, Edgar! Humans rely on us as much as we rely on them and you cannot go around killing them!”
“But I did it for you!” he protested, coming to kneel in front of the other.
“No Edgar! You did it for yourself! Their blood still stains your lips! How could you possibly think I would want such a thing!”
“IT WAS THE ONLY WAY YOU WOULD LOOK AT ME!”
The younger vampire held his gaze with a fiery intensity Silus did not remember him ever having. So many emotions were being freely projected in those eyes, hurt, betrayal, loneliness but most of all… it was love. Edgar looked at him pleadingly until the skies finally opened, letting loose fat water droplets onto the earth. They traveled down of the blond’s face, carving trails of wetness along his cheeks, giving the impression that they were in fact tears. Edgar had not cried for a century, but in that moment it was as if the heavens themselves were heading his wordless plea and letting free their own pent up sadness. It was at that moment that Silus surprised himself in noticing that his brother’s eyes had never looked so blue.
Edgar’s head dipped down as he looked at his fingers, still drenched in crimson. “You only ever speak of how the Brothers serve humans and how I must do the same. I have tried being good and following the rules but when I did, it was like I became invisible to you.” He whipped his head back up to stare imploringly at the only man he was proud to call family. “I would kill a thousand mortals if it meant that you would acknowledge me!”
Silus could take no more of this. Despite the wetness and the discomfort it caused, he wrapped his arms tightly around the smaller man.
“Why won’t you play with me? Why won’t you acknowledge me?” he mumbled into the other man’s chest. “When you look at me it’s like you don’t even recognize me…” He pulled away slightly to look Silus in the eye before he spoke again “Why won’t you see me?”
“Edgar…” he cupped his brother’s face between his hands and lowered himself down for a desperate kiss.
Their cold lips touched and pressed together with as much strength as the two of them could muster. Edgar held onto his sibling like he was his only lifeline. They slipped their tongues into each other’s mouths for a battle of dominance; however neither cared who would win. They simply relished the time they had together and the closeness of their bodies. Neither Edgar nor Silus had felt this level of intimacy in such a long time, they had all but forgotten what it was like.
It was as if they had never known the touch of another. The quiver of nerves shot wave after wave of boundless feeling everywhere hands were laid to rest. Every brush was rapture, every lick was ecstasy and every breath was like trying to swallow the world because that was the only thing that could be equivalent to what bliss had been taken from their lungs.
“I’m sorry… I never knew” said Silus as they finally broke apart. “I’m sorry”
Edgar seemed to accept the apology before it had even been said as he snuggled into the black haired man’s embrace and smiled contentedly.
“I love you” Edgar said simply.
“I love you too” Silus said simply back.
