Mary was dead and John was drunk. And why shouldn’t he be? He was the one that found her impaled on the fence surrounding their home. From the second story window, when he looked below the balcony, the high fence was no more than a few feet away from the house. And there was his beautiful wife separated by the spikes. Her blood dripped beneath her turning the snow red.
