Disclaimer:
I do not own the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Elizabeth
Yes yes, I know it's OOC, but aren't most fics? I can't believe I wrote something with Elizabeth in it. Whatever, I promise I'll update soon
Sorry this is taking so long! I've been SO friggin busy, I guess you could call it that.
Chapter 1: Elizabeth
It had been nearly a month since Jack and Will’s last meeting, and Will was beginning to seriously miss his drunken, free presence. The pirate captain haunted his dreams, and sometimes in situations that Will found altogether repulsive. He would do such forbidden things that Will would wake up with his stomach churning. The worst of all was how Elizabeth knew. She had known since the first time Will woke up vomiting and sporting a very noticeable erection.
Right from the beginning, Elizabeth had taken things the wrong way. Her belief was that Will wanted Jack Sparrow, despite his vomiting, and because of this, she herself had began flirting with other man. There were even nights when she left and returned several days later with considerable amounts of money or expensive gifts.
It angered Will. Over and over again he assured her that he wanted none of it, and yet her bitterness grew as time went on. Will began to question if all this misery was really worth it. Why should he have to fight and fight to keep someone who would never believe him and, in the end, not support him when he was truly in need? He shouldn’t, but nonetheless, Will figured that he should give Elizabeth one more chance.
That night, Will waited at the foot of his and Elizabeth’s bed, hoping that she would come home, if just this one night. Fortunately for Will, she arrived somewhere around two in the morning, stumbling around , smelling of several different liquors.
“Elizabeth, would it be a good time to speak with you?”
The love of Will’s life turned to him, a frown on her face. “What are you doing here?” She called out in slurred speech.
“Please Elizabeth, I want to talk to you about what is happening to me.”
Dramatically, Elizabeth threw her hands up into the air. “Not this again! Listen to me Will Turner, it’s pretty obvious to me that you no longer desire my company. Well that’s just fine, because you know what, I no longer desire yours either! You are infinitely weak, and-and you seem to need more than one person to adore you! It is the only way you can survive, and it’s draining me! You are sick Will! I mean, you lust for another man- a pirate nonetheless! I can’t stand you any longer!”
“You think I want it!?!” Will leapt from his submissive position. It was the first time since his adventures with Jack that he had lost his temper. “Do you think I want another man touching my body? Does it even matter to you that every morning I have to wake up with my stomach churning! Do you really think I need other people to keep me running? You are greatly mistaken! I lived a decent amount of time with no one! I was elated when I was granted such a perfect woman. Now you are nothing more than a pretty wench with money! By all means, leave! I can easily live without you!”
“I hope you burn in Hell Will Turner!” Elizabeth broke out in tears. “Why did I ever think I could love someone so lowly as a blacksmith- A PIRATE!”
Will rolled his eyes. “ What ever happened to your sense of adventure? ‘Who cares if he’s a pirate, he’s a decent young man!’ What happened to you Elizabeth?”
“I remembered who I really was Will! I am the governor’s daughter, and I can have any damn thing I want! I don’t have to deal with your midnight desires, your ‘sickness’, and your stupid boyish dreams of true love!”
Will lowered his voice and sat back down. His face was still distorted in an uncharacteristic snarl. “So be it. I do not want you anymore, and you have made it pretty clear that you feel the same.”
“Goodbye Will turner.” Elizabeth whispered, wiping a final tear from her cheek. She turned on her heal and exited back into the lively streets of Port Royal, leaving Will sitting on their bed.
Will looked down at the creaky floorboards. He felt tears well up in his eyes, and he felt the guilt building inside of him. It wasn’t normal for him to react so violently to someone he cares so much for. Deep down, he knew that things could have turned out alright. He could have proved to Elizabeth that it was her he wanted, and not Jack, but now she was gone, and deep down, Will knew that she wouldn’t be back. He collapsed onto his stiff bed, shuddering as tears rolled down his cheeks.
Two days later Will allowed himself to leave the confines of his small house close to the docks. Lucky for him, there still weren’t many people that knew him, despite his relationship with the governor’s daughter. A few people bid him good day, but other than that, it was peaceful.
The air was fresh, and there was a gentle breeze. Will could tell from the clouds that it would rain soon. He continued at a slow pace, taking in all the beautiful sights of the city : all the boats at dock, many of them vast beautifully designed. Then there were all the old buildings made of wood and fragile brick, decorated by dirty glass windows. Will was thoroughly enjoying it until he spotted the one thing he did not wish to see-
There was Elizabeth, crouched down in an alleyway, sandwiched between two extravagantly dressed naval officers with large bulges in the groins of their skin-tight white pants. One had his hands on Elizabeth’s breasts, and the other had his hand up her skirt. Will felt the sadness growing inside of him again. Then he looked again- he would never be able to live knowing the woman sleeping beside him prostituted herself and furthermore, didn’t love him. Taking a deep breath, Will began to convince himself that he would be better off without Elizabeth.
“William! There you are! I’ve been looking for you.”
Will spun around. Standing about ten yards away was Governor Swan himself. With a forced smile on his face, Will approached the father of his former lover.
“Hello sir.”
“Will, I am troubled. I fear that Elizabeth is not quite in her right mind. Many of the men say that they have seen her around other men at night, acting questionably. Those that have spoken with her say that she has gone cruel. Do you know anything of this?”
Will’s smile turned upside down. There was now a very sad expression on his face. Governor Swan had never shown anything but kindness towards him, and he hated to give the man such bad news. “ Indeed I do. Elizabeth left two days past, and I have not heard from her since. I do not mean to offend you, but she did become very cruel right before she left.”
“You do not offend me. I am to hear that Elizabeth left you, I know it was not your fault.”
“Thank you Sir.”
“I suppose I will be seeing you.”
Will and Governor Swan shook hands and went their separate ways. As the sun set and the moon began to rise, Will found his way back to his house. He slept dreamlessly that night, and it was one of the happiest nights he had had in a very long time.
The next morning Will woke to the voice of a young boy. He couldn’t make out the words from inside his house, so he rapidly dressed and hurried outside. When he heard the boy’s words, he immediately dropped to his knees, and his mouth fell open in shock
“THE GOVERNOR’S DAUGHTER IS DEAD! ELIZABETH SWAN WAS FOUND DEAD IN AN THE STREETS JUST THIS MORNING!”
Running faster than he ever had before, Will made his way to where the crowd was. He forced his way through the frozen onlookers until he found himself at Elizabeth’s feet.
He body had begun to turn yellow, but she was still just pale. There were many visible bruise marks, primarily in the shape of fingers, and there was one large cut across her throat. If this wasn’t enough, Elizabeth’s lovely dress was torn to shreds and her decaying body was available for everyone to gawk at. Will fought his way back through the crowd and ran back to the safety of his home.
“How could she...” Will began weeping again as he sat down on his bed. The image of her dead body kept flashing through his head. “ She doesn’t deserve that.” Will began to tremble. He thought of all the things that they had said to each other and honestly wished that he could take them all back. The fell back, his head resting on a pillow of dirty shirts. Tears wet the sheets, and eventually Will found himself asleep once again
