Achilles looked up when a cloaked figure entered his tent. He quickly stood and grabbed his sword.
"Stand and fight or declare yourself and your intentions."
The figure slowly raised its hands to the hood and lowered it. Achilles looked into the face of prince Hector. He put down his sword and sat on his bed.
"I told you that you should make love to your wife tonight, f am am killing no princes today," Achilles said.
"I came because you sacked Apollo's temple. Yet you live. Wouldn't the sun god have had his vengeance by now?" replied Hector.
"Your gods will not interfere in such a way. It is beneath them."
"I also came for another reason."
Achilles appraised the other man. "Go on."
Hector sat down on the other end of the bed. "There was a body missing among the dead at the temple. Where is my cousin Briseis?"
"Your cousin, is she?"
Hector nodded.
"You should know then that my men captured her because they thought she would amuse me."
Hector stood suddenly. "What have you done to her?"
"I have done nothing because I no longer have her."
"What is that supposed to mean?" Hector asked, his anger growing.
"I was talking with King Agamemnon in his tent about his victory, when he mentioned that I sacked Apollo's temple. I told him that we had done so and he couake ake any gold he wanted as my tribute to him. He told me that he had already chosen his treasure and two of his guards dragged Briseis into the room. When I threatened to fight the soldiers for her, she said that she wanted no man to die for her. I felt I had to respect her wishes and leave."
When Hector heard this he cursed softly and sat back down on the bed, this time, next to Achilles. He sat silently for a second and if he had noticed the bitterness in Achilles' voice, he didn't show it. Achilles let him sit because he needed to get his own thoughts in line. somesome reason, the nearness of the Trojan was setting his pulse racing. Hector's body was a beautifully muscled silhouette in the moonlight. Achilles couldn't stop himself as he pushed the other man onto the bed.
"I thought that you weren't killing princes today," said Hector.
"I'm not," replied Achilles.
"Then what are you doing?"
Suddenly, Achilles brought his head down and caught Hector in a bruising kiss. Hector started in shock.
"You…we… It cannot be done. It is an abomination." He pushed Achilles off and backed slowly away as Achilles crawled to him across the bed.
"Why not? We have already proven that the gods do not strike us down. Also, I'm sure that many of them have engaged in similar practices. No pleasure is to perverse e foe forbidden."
Hector was paralyzed as he watched the other man slowly, lazily approach himhen hen Achilles reached him, he offered no resistance as the other man pushed him down and then straddled him on his hands and knees. Achilles brought his mouth to Hector's ear.
"You resisted me, and yet your heart is now beating quickly and the sweat is beading on your body. Tell me, is this the sign of your anger?"
When Hector did not reply, Achilles brought his head up and his lips to Hector's. He lightly brushed them and then pulled back. The tender gesture sent Hector's heart racing even more quickly. When Achilles brought his head down again, this time it was Hector who found the other man's lips. Now Achilles pulled back in shock.
"What?" whispered Hector, as he put his hand on the back of Achilles' neck. "Do you only like it if your partner lies subservient and willing? Should you not enjoy a challenge in the bed, as well as on the battle field?" Hector drew Achilles head down and repeated the other man's gesture by brushing his lips over Achilles'. But when Achilles brought his head down to kiss Hector, Hector turned his head.
"Not yet, " he whispered softly into Achilles' ear. The sensation sent a chill through Achilles' body and he looked into Hector's eyes. Hector looked back and saw desire there.
