I do not own Labyrinth, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
At the edge of time and space
Sarah walked by the giggling crowd of girls without so much as a look in their direction. She had never
had the urge to hurt anyone before, yet she certainly felt it now. Especially with Angie.
topics of her poems and essays about the Labyrinth in her creative writing class. And although some
enjoyed them very much, others, like Angie and her followers, did not. Yet Sarah ignored them and kept walking down the hall to her next class. She was a senior now, 18
years old and her thoughts had grown darker ever since her escape from the Goblin King. Yet although
she had escaped, her “adventure” had tore her apart mentally. Her dreams were filled with goblins and
for some reason she kept dying in them...kept falling into some bog or swamp or kept getting grabbed
by unknown hands. At one point, she dreamed that she was back in the labyrinth again and she woke
up screaming. Her friends rarely ever slept over since they knew of her dreams. She had told them everything about
her struggle in the labyrinth and although some thought her quite mad, others believed her. Those were
the ones she knew she could trust. As she sat in creative writing, she caught sight of Angie laughing at her. Finally not being able to take it
anymore, she turned towards her and asked, “What the fuck is your problem?”“Oh, I’m sorry,” said Angie in a sweet voice, “Did the voices in your head say something to you? Or
maybe it was just the goblins?”“Listen you stupid bitch, I could care less if you think I’m crazy or not, but it’s really getting pathetic the
way you keep concentrating on it,” glared Sarah. “You really have no life.” Angie laughed shrilly and so
did her friends.“Me?!” screeched Angie. “I’m not the one who believes in goblins and fairy tales. Grow up, you dumb
shit!” Sarah rolled her eyes and turned around.“Oh look, she’s getting mad,” crooned Angie. “What are you going to do? Send me to the labyrinth?”Sarah jerked her head towards her.“Maybe I should,” growled Sarah.“Oh whatever,” laughed Angie. Sarah turned away and sunk into her seat. Goodness she really hated
Angie. It would serve her right for being such a bitch to be taken away by the Goblin King, yet she
knew that if perhaps she did call on him, he might come for her instead. He had his tricks.....and she did
not want to see him ever again. The bell rang and school was out.“Finally,” muttered Sarah and then started walking home with her friend Jane. Yet suddenly as they
walked down the street, a blue sports car stopped in front of them.It belonged to John, Angie’s boyfriend. Two jocks slipped out of the car and blocked their paths. *flashforward*“Her room is even more pathetic than her,” smirked Angie, throwing a textbook across Sarah’s room. The girls had somehow managed to get into the house. Fortunately for them, no one was home, expect
for the dog of course, but they managed to lock it in the bathroom. While they trashed her room, Angie dropped to the floor and looked under her bed, taking out a small
wooden chest.“Hey guys,” she called to her friends. They stopped throwing Sarah’s things around and went to
Angie’s side. “I think this is like where she keeps her diary or something.”Angie’s neatly manicured hands swiftly pulled the latch off the chest and opened it, only to reveal a
book, entitled the Labyrinth.“Like oh my gosh,” Angie said, giggling, “This is what she was talking about. Let’s see what’s so
interesting about this book.” So she opened it to a random page.“Hey, it says you can wish something of the Goblin King,” said Angie.“That girl is demented,” said one of her friends.“Wanna wish her away?” laughed Angie. The other girls laughed as well and agreed. So Angie started to recite....When she finished, there was silence, but that silence was broken by Sarah bursting into the room.“What the fuck did you do?!” she screamed, tears in her eyes. All the girls stared at her wide-eyed. “What the FUCK did you DO?!” she screamed again, slamming the door shut and locking it. Yet that
gave her no help, for the door simply flew open anyways, throwing her to the floor. She quickly
regained herself and looked up to see Jareth, walking through the doorway, a smug look on his face.*flashback*“What do you guys want?” asked Sarah. “We wanted to ask you about math homework,” said the jock named Alex.“But we’re not even in the same math class,” she said.“Well, what level math are you?” he asked. “Calculus,” Sarah replied.“I’m in Algebra,” he chuckled. Sarah stared up at him blankly.“I really have to go,” she said, trying to go around them but they blocked her way. Her friend was of no
help either. Jane merely stood there and seemed to be drooling over Alex. She always had the biggest
crush on him.“Umm...John likes your boobs!” Alex laughed.“Do not!” John laughed too and then pushed Alex. Then Alex pushed John. And soon they were
wrestling on the ground.“Ow!” laughed John, “You’re totally breaking my spine dude!”“I know!” laughed Alex, “And you’re totally bruising my insides!” Sarah and Jane merely stared at the
two boys and then continued walking.“That was weird,” said Jane as they hurried away. Suddenly Sarah’s stomach lurched. She had a very
bad feeling about something.“Jane, I have to go,” she said and she started to run. She knew she looked like an idiot, running through
the quiet suburban neighborhood at top speed, but for some reason she knew she had to get home
quickly. She ran up the steps of her house and ran inside slamming the door. Once inside, she leaned
against it, breathing hard. “Well Sarah, it truly is a pleasure to see you again,” a low voice said from across the room. She
shuddered slightly. That voice still made chills run up her spine. She hadn’t heard it in almost 3 years
and it still scared her.“What...What are you doing here?” she asked, not realizing the fear that she let slip in her voice.“I’ve come to take you away,” the Goblin King smiled. “As was the task assigned.”“Task assigned?” she whispered in confusion and then suddenly she heard giggling upstairs. “Oh fuck
no....please no....”
She ran upstairs at full speed and burst in on the girls.
*back to the present*Jareth stood in the doorway, smiling at all of them, until his eyes settled on Sarah. He grinned cruellywhen he saw her and approached her slowly, extending a slender gloved hand to pull her up gently
from the ground. Watching his hand, she tried to scramble away, but she was caught and her vision
blurred. Everything turned black.A/N: This is my first ever Labyrinth fic! Read and review please!!
