Batman and all the characters therein belong to DC so obviously I don't own them. I don't make any money from writing about them either.

Disclaimer: I do not own any of these characters, if I did I’d be rich and I most certainly am not. I am borrowing them for a short while. DC owns them and I get no money from this as stated before.
Nc-17, Yaoi or slash, angst, dark, violence
It is following more along the lines of the movies but I am also adding in my own things because I can. After all I am the author. There are mainly two pairings in this story, Bruce/Jonathan, and Bruce/Joker. I love these pairings and I am very excited about including both of these villains in the same story. So, let the insanity ensue.
NOTE: something horrible happened with the story so I had to delete it. I have reposted the story however, and updated as well.

Chapter 1 Disassociation
A fire ball burst from a popular hotel in Gothem’s higher end district with out warning and with in minutes the entire structure was on fire. The Joker smiled manically as he took a few seconds to admire his work. He wouldn’t have much time to hang around and watch the resulting chaos however, because he could already hear sirens in the distance. He stalked out into the middle of the street where people were running frantically, as parts of the burning building began to fall from above. He made his way easily through the crowd, not caring who saw him. As he was about to turn down a side alley, he heard the distinct sound of someone crying out in pain. He turned around and looked for the cause, finding it almost instantly. A man was caught under a large section of scorched rubble, obviously smashed irreparably by its weight.
When the man saw the Joker standing above him he began to scream even louder. Joker bent down beside him and looked at him seriously for a second.
“Shhh now it’s alright,” the Joker said with believable sympathy, “It’ll be over soon, I promise. Bet it hurts though doesn’t it?” The man was silenced momentarily by fear and stared up at the clown, shaking. Joker bent closer till he was next to the mans ear.
“Bet ya wish batman were here to save you huh? He’s not coming though. You wanna know why huh?” He nodded to himself, before continuing as he pulled back and stood up, spreading his arms dramatically. “Because your police are hunting him, he owes you nothing.”
The Joker then jumped on top of the large piece of concrete and laughed insanely as the man began screaming again, blood covering his face. Still laughing, the Joker jumped down and sauntered into the alley, the man’s pathetic screams sounding like music to his ears. Walking casually, the Joker weaved through the back streets. He pulled out his favorite knife when he heard footsteps behind him, but didn’t bother to turn around. Three people tried to make their way by him, but he lunged out and slit their throats before they could pass him. The third person was wearing a hotel ushers uniform and the joker suddenly turned and pinned him to the alley wall, clamping his hand over the frightened mans mouth. When the usher noticed who was holding him captive his eyes bulged.
“What?” The joker asked looking around, as if the man was horrified by anything other than himself. He then smiled and leaned close, “is it the scars?”
The man struggled a bit, but the joker held him firmly in place.
“What’s your name? If you scream I’ll cut you open like a roast pig.” He giggled a little at his own words.
“Jason, Jason katz.” The man said in a shaky tone.
“Well Jason I have a question for ya, can you answer it?”
The man nodded and the joker pushed harder against him. “Answer me!” He said sternly, with a sinister smile.
“What ever you want just don’t hurt me.” Jason pleaded. The joker looked taken aback and pet the man’s hair, like a mother would do to a frightened child.
“Why I’m not gonna hurt you Jason, why would I wanna do that?” the man said nothing.
“How many people were in that hotel I just blew up?”
“I don’t know.”
“Well how many do you think?” He stroked the man’s face soothingly, “think real hard now Jason.” He prodded, giving him an admonishing look laced with amusement.
“Probably about eight hundred, um may be more.” He stuttered.
“How many do you think survived?”
“I don’t kn..” the joker cut him off by raising the knife, “less then a hundred I think may be less, I don’t know, I didn’t see, I just ran. I swear! I just ran.” He was semi hysterical and his eyes were watering, “don’t hurt me, please don’t hurt me! I have a wife and two kids please I …” Joker silenced him again by pressing the knife harder against Jason’s skin.
“Do you think you can do something for me Jason?”
“Yes, anything just please.”
“I want you to go to Commissioner Gordon, you know where to find him right?” The man nodded.
“I want you to tell him that if he doesn’t send the batman to find me that I’ll blow up two elementary schools. Wait what day is it?”
“Uh it’s um...”
“Jason calm down and think will ya I don’t have lots of time?”
"It’s Monday, ya its Monday.”
“Okay, tell Commissioner Gordon that I’ll blow up two elementary schools, on Thursday, if he doesn’t send the batman to meet with me. Can you do that?”
Jason nodded erratically as tears began to stream down his face. “Where should I tell him to find you?”
“Hmm good question,” the joker leaned against him as he pondered this, “tell him where the sun sets and the moon shines half over the water birds cavern. Oh and this too, where the sun sets on two sides. BAD Eighteen Fifteen, got this? Fifteen Thirteen.” Joker seemed to think to himself and then pulled out a joker card, scribbling what he had said down on it with an ink pin and putting both the pin, and the card in Jason’s pocket.
“If you don’t do this, and I don’t hear it on the news, I might just decide to blow up something else.” He went to turn away but then turned back, “oh and I’ll kill your wife and kids while you watch. Then I’ll kill you....slowly.”
Jason nodded and sniffled a few times.
“Thanks for being such a swell guy Jason. I can’t wait to hear what Gordon has to say. Run along now.” He let Jason go and the man ran ahead of him, looking over his shoulder as he went, like he expected the joker to chase him.
“Nice kid.” The joker mused to himself, as he continued his leisurely walk down the alley.

Gordon paced back and forth atop the state building, occasionally casting a glance over to the spot light with the bat symbol, which was blazing its light into the night sky. The message the Joker had sent him bothered him greatly. He just hoped that batman wasn’t overly busy tonight, because the information he had for the dark knight could not wait. He had tried to figure out the Jokers riddle, but for all his efforts, he had nothing to show. He had a feeling that the message would lead to the Jokers present choice of hideouts, and had every intension of sending a squad over there to pick him up.
Only the Joker was crazy enough to give his enemies his exact location, and if Gordon could figure it out, he would have the clown behind bars by the end of the night. He read over the mad scribbling on the back of the joker card again and again, but he couldn’t make any sense of it. His last hope was that batman could figure it out before Thursday, and save Gothem from what ever ghastly attack the Joker was plotting next.
There was one thing Gordon didn’t understand, though he tried hard. Why would the Joker want to meet with batman? Especially in the one place he seemed to be safe from the dark knight’s ever watchful eye? What was he hoping to gain from it? If it was a trap Gordon knew batman could probably handle it on his own, but it still troubled him. He wanted to help batman, any chance he got, and the idea of leaving a friend, however mysterious, to a possibly life threatening situation was a tough thing to handle.
“I’m here Gordon; you can turn that light off now, the others can’t know you’re calling for me.” Batman said, suddenly appearing from the shadows, and walking over to the commissioner. Gordon did as batman suggested, unable to hide the uneasiness he felt.
“It’s the Joker isn’t it?” Gordon looked over as if surprised, his anxiety rising out of control. Even the villains name caused Gordon to become uneasy. Batman seemed to be studying him quietly, waiting for Gordon to speak.
“He sent me a message today, asking for you.” The older man said softly, looking out over Gothem’s darkened streets. Batman was silent, and seemed to be following Gordon’s gaze.
“He wants you to find him. He wants to have a meeting with you.” He turned to Batman and the dark knight lowered his head in thought.
“What are you thinking?”
“Honestly commissioner, I’m trying to figure out why that lunatic would want to meet with the very person who causes him the most threat.” Batman replied.
“I am wondering the same thing. He is different than anything I’ve ever encountered, in all my years of policing these streets. He is so unpredictable. What does he want? What drives him to do the unspeakable things he does?”
“Yes, he is different commissioner, even the other criminals don’t know what to do with him, they are afraid of him.”
“What about that other psycho?” Gordon asked.
“The scarecrow?”
“Yeah that’s the one. Do they know each other? How long until their paths cross?” Batman could sense the horrible dread Gordon felt in that statement.
“I don’t know. They are bound to collide sooner or later. Who knows what will happen then, like you said, the Joker is so unpredictable. They could try to kill each other, or they could join forces, it’s hard to say at this point.” It was obvious that Gordon was hoping for the former rather than the later.
“Here, this is what the Joker gave to me, now it’s up to you.” Gordon handed over the joker card with the riddles on it, and the taller man took it with out a word, slipping it into a safe compartment in his bat suit.
“I could hardly make any sense out of the Joker’s writing, and I hope you will be able to decipher it. If you don’t find this son of a bitch in two days he’s threatened to blow up two elementary schools.” Batman’s deepening frown was not lost on Gordon, who was sure he was reflecting the same expression.
“Don’t worry, I’ll catch him.” Batman said gruffly. There was a brief silence and then Gordon Spoke up. He turned his eyes away from the streets below, and let them rest on the tall dark figure.
“Where were you today when the hotel was blown up? We really could have used you. Only one of the six men who helped the Joker was caught. Who knows where the rest of them are, probably somewhere in the Narrows plotting who knows what.”
“You know why I wasn’t there Commissioner. I am not needed for the more public work I used to do. The people of Gothem consider me a murderer after the death of Harvey Dent. The only work I can do now is in the darkest shadows.” Batman replied softly.
“You could have saved so many people.”
“I know, but this is the way it has to be now. Maybe one day things will turn around again, and I can help you more. Until that day I am very limited in what I can do.” Gordon nodded. He knew what Batman was saying was true, and he hated that things had to be the way they were.
“Good bye Gordon, I can’t stay any longer.”
“Yeah, I have faith in you but I can’t help thinking this is all an elaborate trap. What else can we do though, he’s got us stuck in his game,” he paused, “good night Batman, I can’t wish you enough luck.”
With that said they turned and walked their separate ways.
