A New Life
In the 600 hundred years of her immortal existence Selene couldn't remember ever spending more than a few hours of personal time with anybody. Yet her she was for the second time in under a week sharing a bed with Michael once more. The war for her had been everything. It had been her life and her sole purpose for existence since Viktor had turned her all those long years before. Yet the world she had known was gone now drowned in the final bloodshed that had marked the end of the coven and Lycan's hordes with their leaders dead and any other remaining members scattered as far as she could tell. Her and Michael had somehow survived it all and after escaping the remnants of the ruined castle had hastily found another safehouse close to the outskirts of Budapest to rest while they wondered what to do next.
It wasn't much of a refuge for them but as the coven's safehouses went it was more furnished than some of the hideouts deeper in the city and closer to the mansion. Using the safehouse here often meant Vampires wouldn't be able to make it back to the shelter of the mansion and so it had a seperate accomadation area as well as the other usual rooms they all contained. There had been food here for them something they both needed and there would be weapons as well if they needed them again. Until their future was more secure that was always going to be a useful thing to have around even if Michael didn't necessairily need any himself. They would soon have to work out how they would survive. They would need funds and food if they were to make some life for themselves.
She stared at him now his body lying tangled up in the sheets alongside her own as he sprawled out face down breathing deeply, fast asleep with one arm still draped over her. Her mind replayed seeing him again as he had suddenly appeared during that final battle, it had broken her resistance. She had broken when she had thought Markus had killed him in the warehose by the docks and had only been left with revenge then after any hopes she had of some future had been crushed. Then he had had appeared again whole and intact and coming to her rescue and she had realised what losing him had meant to her. Emotions swirled around in her mind. A mixture of thought and feelings that had threatened to overwhelm her. So much had happened and so quickly it was almost beyond comprehension. 600 years she had lived and never been through as much as she had over the last few days since she had known Michael. Finding him alive once more beside her as the sunlight had caressed her face for the first time she had been turned had been more than she had expected and given her something to focus on.
When they had made it here that rush of emotions had been to much to contain. She had needed Michael, she had needed to be with him for so many reasons. She had neede the reasurrance of his presence had needed to know he was truly alive and well under her ardent hands and mouth. She had needed to feel alive herself and feel the solid presence and weight of him over her, his touch upon her soothing and pleasuring as he had responded to her own passions until they had ended up as they were now tangled up lying on the bed, the thin white sheets damp and entwined around there bodies and they lay together. Just thought of it sent another little flare of heat running through her body as she lay alongside him.
Unlike the first time they had been together it had been a fast and heated exchange a wild and desperate need had been in her one she had needed slaking with him and one he had responded to as well. He to had been through so much since the fateful day in the subway. Falling into the middle of the war between Vampires and Lycan's before being turned and ending up becomming a hybrid after she herself had bitten him as well. That was before the battle with Viktor and then Markus which had resulted in his own death before he miraculously returned to her. There had been more than enough need he himself had been feeling an element of reassurance needed that matched her own. Like her he needed to feel alive, needed to feel her under him touching him her scent and taste. She could aknowledge the fact he had needed his mate they had needed each other.
They had reached the safehouse and quickly made there way into one of the side rooms with the bed. Everything else had been forgotten, the outside world, all they had been through, food it had all disappeared until there was just the two of them and nothing else. There had been an unspoken need between them both then everything else was left aside while they settled the other pressing need they both had. They had moved back to the bed shedding the remains of the clothes they had left on and tumbling down onto the sheets rolling around, mouths nipping and hands urgently seeking each other. There hadn't been much of a build up between them. There hadn't truthfully be the need for any. Both had known what they had wanted what they had needed and had taken it. Their frantic hands and mouths had explored each other teasing and tasting as their bodies slipped against each other over the sheets that covered the bed until finally he had caught her, pinned her and taken her. Then they had drowned themselves in nothing more than the heat and closeness of one another.
After they were finished his gentle touches had returned. The weight of his body on hers and the feel of him joined with her was a comfort. It wasn't ever something she had looked for before. Normally her brief encounters had been quick and to the point and she had left forgetting them almsot as soon as they were over. It wasn't like this with Michael. Exhausted no doubt from the long battle and whatever process he had been though to heal himself combined with their frantic heated bout of lovemaking had soon had him drowsing where upon her had moved of her allowing her to breath though keeping her close with his arm draped protectively around her still. The warmth of his body against hers had been another reassuring presence she was enjoying beside her as she unlike him struggled to find some sleep. With everything they had been through she found it hard now to relax her mind and body still slightly tense ready to react at the first hint of danger.
He lay there beside her asleep and content his hair ruffled no sign of the hybrid he could be or the man who had matched her own passions only a few hours before as they made wild love to each other on the bed. She gazed down at him now seeing him looking soft and content and felt her pulse jump lazily. He wasn't like any other person she had known certainly unlike any other immortal she had been with before. Whether that was because it was his nature or whether it was because he had only recently been turned and thus his connection to the human world was that much fresher she didn't know. Being locked in a bitter war for centuries without no mercy or compassion tended to quickly give someone an ice cold outlook on life. She herself was a prime example of the immortal warrior dealing death without thought or at least she had been before she had met Michael. Now with him and with the war seemingly at an end who knew what would happen.
She sighed softly. There were so many things they would have to consider and think about. A whole range of simple facts that had never been important to her before while she lived within the coven would now have to be looked at and adjusted to. A whole new world was out there, one that with the war over and her own ability to be able to move once more under the light meant she was free to explore. She did not know what they would do but at least they would be able to do it together now at least. Slowly she settled back down pressing herself against Michael's body resting back on the bed and forced everything else from her mind as she slowly lay down and slipped into sleep joining Michael there.
