"Where have you been?" my wife whispers eyes wide I swallow, presssing a shaking hand to my head
"I had to see Obi Wan..."
"Oh..." she swallows, looking around nervously "What did he say?"
I sigh
"Bail?"
"There is no going back love...we can not give her back..."
"But..."
"If Padme discovers...we will be killed..."
"Surely she will be merciful"
"We stole her child...merciful..."
"But"
"Would you be merciful if someone stole your child, and told you she was dead?"
"I...I..."she gulps "I would kill them"
"Exactly"
"Oh God what are we to do?"
"Where is she?"
"In her crib"
I nod, and with a heavy heart I walk to the room
"Oh Dear god!" I breathe, Behru gasps as we look into the room I tremble the girl is laying in her crib, and a picture is floating above it
"Bail?"
"the picture of me and..."
"Padme..."
"She has The Force..." I breathe in horror
BREHA
"Oh Leia" I murmur stroking the dark tuft of hair, she gurgles , as she is wont to do when she is happy. I sigh, she is happy at this moment, because she is her true self and not 'Jade' I would have thought it laughable if I had been told beforehand what predicament I would have ended up in. All I ever wanted was a child of my own,was that so bad, did that make me a bad person...Evil? No stealing one was made you evil
I look at the sweet child
"Oh Leia" I mutter again sorrowfully, she looks at me as I place the holo picture infront of her, she gurgles happily again
"That's your Mummy" I sigh again, blinking back tears
Leia sighs, reaching for the picture, I groan as it floats towards her
"She is very beautiful" I murmur into her soft neck "I think you will be very like her"
She makes a sound of contentment, this pleases her mightily I feel, if Bail's dreams are true...I shudder at the thought, she will do her upmost to be like her mother...I just hoped that Bail had it wrong, and that she was not imitating her mother to please her father...Vader
Dear god even the sound of his name made me shudder. No Bail had to be wrong, Leia didn't even know her father existed, Anakin SkyWalker was dead to her and to the world, and that was the way it had to stay Maybe if I gave her back, just left her behind for Padme to find...I sigh would it work maybe...maybe not...Padme would want to know why she was lied to where her daughter had been, who had lied to her Obi Wan...she would go straight to him...and bit by bit the truth would unfold. Bail is right we are doomed all we had to do was wait
